When attempting to load www.madcowsracing.org from my office I get "Directory Listing Denied
This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed."
I'm able to access this website on all other computers I've tried

Are you using a bookmark to open a specific page on that site or are you going to the main page?
* "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
* "Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Is the problem that I just transferred my domain name to MobileMe (from www.gate.com) earlier tonight and it needs 48 hours to effect this? Or...has it already done what it should do and is flawed? Thanks for the input; it DOES seem the problem was the other place not changing the CNAME...HOWEVER...on my 5 pages created on iWeb and uploaded to my domain name, they LOAD, but only seems to navigate three of them...i.e. you bring up my "Welcome" page, and can click "About Me" page, and maybe one more (even though they all seem to be "highlighted" when you drag the cursor over them)....however, at least 50% of the time, you can't "back" navigate to one of the other pages (i.e., if you've loaded three in a row, it STOPS and you have to use the actual BACK ARROW to try again, which sometimes lets you see all the pages. I feel they haven't loaded correctly, or...????? something? my site is www.thesandsoftime.net if you want to look for yourselves...Help!?!

Cannot "enable directory listing" from the wadm CLI

With SJSWS 6.1 sp1 up to sp11, there was a documented bug that caused directory listing to work even though the ACL was:

The default installed ACL is exactly the same from 6.1 to 7.0. e.g. the "list" right is given only to [all] authenticated user, and not everyone. So requesting a "GET /images/" will give you a 401 unauthorized, as should have happened in 6.1, which causes your browser to prompt you to login.
By default, 7.0 webserver configs are created with directory listing enabled with "index-common". But it can also be disabled, directing the user to a defined static file on the web server disk. i.e.:
Service method="(GET|HEAD)" type="magnus-internal/directory" fn="send-error" path="/path/on/disk/notFound.html"In either case, out of the box, neither enabling nor disabling directory listing matters because the default ACL denies directory listing in the prior case, and denies the "notFound.html" response in the later. Note "allow (list) user = all" requires authentication for the "list"privilege.
To fix this, you change the ACL so the "list" privilege is in the first ACI, i.e., 'allow (read, execute, info, list) user = "anyone";'
The problem is that even though the ACL file can be modified in the Admin Web GUI, it cannot be modified from the the wadm CLI.
So, because of this, technically one cannot truly enable directory listing (wadm enable-directory-listing) using wadm. The best you can do is manually edit the existing ACL, or create a new ACL file and set that new file using wadm.
I don't even see a way, using wadm, to dump new content into the ACL file. Without the GUI, you are stuck. And you cannot perform remote administration for this feature using wadm.
If we admins are creating TCL scripts to automate creating and configuring webserver configs, this feature cannot be configured.
I would like to know if I am wrong, and how I could resolve this using the wadm CLI alone.
And if the default is going to remain that the "list" privilege requires authentication, this should be documented in the SJSWS7 documentation for enabling and disabling directory listing.

pull-config does not work in this case because of two reasons:
1. you must still manually edit the ACL file (can already do that on the admin server)
2. and you must make that change on a node which has the configuration
In my case, I want to remotely manage the configuration using wadm. But I do not want to log into one of the nodes in the server farm.
And I want to avoid having to edit the ACL file manually if possible, or through the GUI which requires manual intelligent point-and-click efforts.
Seems like my only bet is to:
1. create the config via the wadm tcl shell
2. then outside of the wadm command, execute some script that can perform a scp to the admin server, or a ssh for a local copy of a previously written ACL file - which requires a lot of extra setup to make that happen.
3. then get back into wadm to execute the other tasks
I want to avoid step #2.

I have had exactly the same problem now with two mini iPads. Everything was tried; 1) restarting; 2) restoring factory settings etc. NONE worked. Eventually Apple agreed to replace it. I have had the replacement now for two to three months and exactly the same thing is happening again. So off to Apple tomorrow to get another replacement.
I am quite a heavy user of the iPad so wonder if this is something to do with the fault.
It is so frustrating as sometimes reset works, and then after 10/20/30/40 minutes (you pick) it goes unstable again.

And you're saying when you using File>Import>File and select a JPEG you get the error message?
You can't or shouldn't import MP3s into FCP.
Have you try creating a new porject and importing into that?

Very slow network directory listing - but fast data transfer speed once listed?

I have really tried to sort this myself before opening up to the community, however I have run out of ideas, and hope someone can offer the magic solution I have missed.
I am currently using the 3.4ghz i7 iMac on a 1GB LAN, running OSX10.7.2 - connecting to a Windows Server 2008 (Running Release 2) over ethernet.
If i go to a network directory that i haven't recently accessed it can take up to 60 seconds to show the contents of that directory. Once i have accessed that folder, if i come out of it and go back in it will be instant again - but the first time it lists the directory it looks like i have opened an empty folder - which after anything from 10seconds to 1 minute will suddenly show the files that are there.
Internet connectivity is fast through the network, and file transfers across the LAN are fast. (showing as approx 300mb per second) I can play and edit HD content across the network with no slowdown so I am confident that this issue is not related to the network speed itself, and is more to do with a setting on this mac.

I have tried bypassing additional hubs in the network by wiring direct cables to the switch that is connected to the file server, this made no difference.
I have also tried disconnecting the ethernet cable, and running over wifi. This fixes the listing problem, but when editing HD content over a network drive, this connection is not fast enough to carry the data without interruption (some projects are linked to up to 900gb of hd video content!)
Using ethernet, I have tried DHCP, DHCP with manual address, and manual mode. All reproduce this problem. i have tried using the windows workgroup, and tried without it.
I have also followed this suggestion: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2134936?threadID=2134936&tstart=45 and used OpenDNS. this did not fix the issue.
For argument sake, I have also just tested a Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard to see if it was OS related. This reproduces the exact same problem, near instant directory listing on the wifi, a long and arduous wait on ethernet.
I cannot work out why directory listing is instant over wifi, but not over ethernet on 2 different macs, running 2 different versions of OSX. I also do not understand why if the network is having trouble listing the directories - the data transfer speed is 300mbps when i copy files across the wired network from the file server to the mac.
Does anyone have any other ideas as to what could be the problem here? We are about to start work on a very large project, where the content we are editing is spread out across around 200 different network folders (different shoots captured over the past 2 years). We really don't have the time to wait 60 seconds each time we need to access one of those directories to look for a file, and I am very close to pulling all my hair out!
I really look forward to hearing from anyone who can offer any insight.

If you are suspecting that the Windows update had something to do with your LAN going slow, then try the following:
1. Look for updates for your clients LAN NIC driver; or
2. Un-install the updates.

Would like to create a folder where I easily can upload files (ftp) and create a menu link that displays the folder content as a list using my master template and css ...
The files in the list should be available for download.

This is not possible on BC. You can display a folder view and links to all the content in it. You'll have to upload your items and create a page with links to those items.

How can I find out what causes a program to NOT RESPONDING status suddenly?

After a very long period of functioning without serious problems a program suddenly doesn't start anymore, showing this funny rotating ball and a message in the Activity Monitor that this program is not responding. I have searched the log files meticulously, hoping to find some clues what caused the stuck, but no chance of course. Is there a more or less "educated way" to find out, what happened and how to prevent it in the future?

Some of your user files (not system files) have incorrect permissions or are locked. This procedure will unlock those files and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. I'm not sure if this can be controlled at the user level. This is more
          or less an admin task.
          There's an "index Directories" checkbox in console, which you can enable
          /disable it, based on
          your requirement.

What is "Directory Service" and why does it "use up 194%" on my istat CPU app monitor?
Ever since I installed Leopard I've noticed this happening more and more - especially when I install an external hard drive or unplug my ethernet line - this is plainly weird and never happened under Tiger - the temperature shoots up to 84° also - I always to a restart to get rid of it but it's kind of worrying....anybody have any ideas?

Had this happen myself.
It does have something to do with Spotlight/searching. Should go away after a while, or so I have heard from other users, 'cause it hasn't stopped driving me and my fan mad yet.
Am going to have my MacBook index and follow-up on indexing and whatever else it feels is necessary to finally allow me to search in peace over the weekend while locking it away where I can't hear it.
Hopefully that does the trick.
If it wasn't for things working better/faster and most things looking better I might actually consider taking Leopard off again ...

Default action for access list Deny

Is it possible to change the default action for an access list deny? Can the ASA be configured to send an icmp unreachable rather than just dropping the packet if an access list denies the request? I have a situation where I would like to restrict access to a specific server for a select number of users. The problem is that the restricted workstations attempt to connect to the server at log in. Since I cannot control the log in script for those users, I was hoping to use the ASA firewall instead. However, using a deny statement causes the workstation to repeatedly send SYN requests for 60 seconds. The restricted users experience an unacceptably long delay at log in. I was hoping to be able to configure the ASA to send an icmp unreachable message for those users and avoid the wait.

As the firewall it's supposed to be invisible there is no way the ASA could send this particular messages, sorry to inform you that but you could request this particular feature with your Cisco account Team.

Directory Listing on CSS

We have a CSS running Version 5 of the image. How can I see a directory listing of the files on the system. What command would I use that's equal to "ls" in unix or "Dir" in Windows.

why would you want to do this ?
The command does not exist because there is no reason to do it.
There is an engineering command to kind of do this but again I don't see why you would need to see the directory structure.
