What causes Firefox to close down my computer and restarts it?It had done this several times today.
When I am on the computer or even when I am not.The computer will shut down and restart.I installed Firefox 2 days ago.
The one thing that is locking up fire fox is the plug ins. You have to check to see if a plug in is locking up firefox first of all.
To see the processes press : CTRL+ALT+DEL. then click the tab marked "Processes" Then look for Fire Fox and click on it. Click the Yes button when the warning box show up.
Then do the say for "Plug-in Container" I believe that is called.
this is because all ads are now flash ads or video ads. They lock my computer up all the time.
When the CTRL+ALT+DEL are pressed. Keep this minimized and you can see if your computer is running at 100% memory near the clock. If the box is totally green, you are running a lot of programs on your system. Check the processes and find out what is not needed. Also watch your virtual memory. Rule of thumb is 1.5x total memory.
Then now it would be able to shut down the computer the right way.

When I close Firefox and then come back to it later a box comes up that says it's already running. It says to close Firefox first but when I hit close nothing happens and the box comes up again. You don't need to restart your computer to open Firefox again: you just need to close it manually through your application manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC in Processes tab). Anyway, hopefully this support article is what you need:

What's probably happening is that you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

I have a PC. I would like to sync my iPad2 via itunes. My computer recognizes my ipad but itunes does not. I have uninstalled itunes, shut down the computer and restarted plus reinstalled itunes. I visited the Apple store there is no problem with the iPad or the cord. I still have the same problem and am unable to sync when I plug in the iPad via the USB cord. Does anyone have further suggestions?
Try going into the control panel, add/remove programs. Uninstall iTUnes, Apple mobile device service, apple application support. Then redownload and reinstall iTunes and see if it'll work
If the computer sees your iPad you know the cable and connection is good, so the issue has to be software. -
I just upgraded to Yosemite on my mac from 2010. Everything seems to work, accept Photos. When I try to open it i push the "Get started" button, then the picture with "Preparing Library" comes up. Then a message appears with the text "An unexpected error has occurred. Please quit and restart the application." I have done this several times, but nothing happens. What do I do?

Pop Ad tabs include ad, when I close it asks if I'm sure I want to leave the page. I say yes and then there is another survey ad that says I may have won something. This whole process requires at least 4 denials before I can get the page to close.

When I attempt to open google maps in Firefox on my Imac, a dark screens descends over my monitor screen and a note tells me there's been an error, no number is noted, and that I need to turn off and restart my computer. This doesn't help, but everything else works, including google maps in other browsers.
This is a kernel panic.
First verify that Firefox is fully updated including all extensions.
If this fails to fix....
Restart in Safe Boot mode then open Firefox.
* shutdown
* start the Mac and *wait* for the startup chime to sound
* after the sound, press and hold down the shift key
* keep holding and *wait* until the grey Apple logo appears
* now release the shift key and just wait (it could take a few minutes)
* eventually the login screen appears with the words SAFE BOOT
* login and open Firefox.

Why does Java keep stopping so that I have to close down the web and restart it?

Please find the steps given below might help you to resolve your issue.
Click "Start," type Device Manager in the search bar and press "Enter." Click the arrow next to "Keyboard." Right-click on the Keyboard listing and click "Uninstall." Then restart the unit and driver will install Automatically then ask you to restart again check if your Keyboard works fine.
Then go to HP website then update the Bios.

This is for a duo core iMac, the initial release for duo core. The drag and drop feature had stopped working and reinstalling was recommended as a way to recover the function. ABut now the re-install is stopped at disk two, won't complete without as 4 language screen coming on saying i must shutdown.restart the computer. The computer won't accept any disk but disk two of the reinstall.Am I trapped forever? Are there keys i can hold down to ensure completion?
Whoever recommended a reinstall was talking through their hat, and wasn't trying to troubleshoot. They should have first checked if your data was backed up. If it isn't now, your drag and drop can't be completed anyway because you have a much bigger problem. 4 language screens can only be bypassed by restarting the Mac. They are known as kernel panics*:

And what you need to do is isolate the problem, not exacerbate it by adding new things to the machine. Drag and drop fails if an application doesn't support it in a particular region. Now I think the reinstall may have just filled up your hard disk and made it harder to troubleshoot. -
recently i tried to connect my phone to itunes and a mesage poped up saying that i needed the 64 bit version of itunes and that i should uninstall the current one and reinstall the correct version, i have now done this about 5 times and still i get the same message and i cannot sync my phoe whichwas very annoying as i was about to go on holiday any help would be greatly recieved!

Have you tried restoring the iPod from an older backup?
If that doesn't work try restoring it to factory settings.

The new firefox twitter app (mini tab on left of page) is great - except it disappears every time I shut down the computer and I have to remove and then reinstall it every day!?? It won't appear on the page until I do. I am working on an iMac - if that is causing the problem ...? Thanks.

thx for your reply - apparently when I went to the Apple store a long time ago, they restore maybe photos and itunes etc from my external hard drive (passport). I guess at that time they reinstalled an earlier operating system than my macbook came with and that somehow corrupted FileVault. apparently there was no sparse bundle (whatever that is) for my old admin account and they said that ever since the install of the older OS that it was actually NEVER backing up anything in my admin account.
Then, I bought Time Capsule and starting backing up to that instead. I started having problems with it being slow etc and then StartUp Disk full errors and didn't know what to do, so I "Restored" from Time Capsule and that's when I lost everything in my Admin account and was locked out when I tried to log in - it said File Vault error ..."
anyway - that's THAT sad story. I was told to create a new admin account and I've basically been trying to start over - even though I have a partial save of my computer in Crash Plan and I DO see a sparse bundle listed in there, but I just don't know enough about computers to know if it's something I can get back or if I am just totally doomed.
I'm afraid to reinstall anything because if there is even a remote shot that the other files are still floating around in my computer, I feel like that chance will be shot forever. I need to hire McGee from NCIS, I just KNOW he could get those files back for me!!! -

Certain websites cause firefox to close unexpectedly. When it happens it states "firefox.exe has encountered an error and needs to close" and when I click details I get the following information:

PS: I didnt not see any options on how to receive a crash IDIf you are using AVG...disable the link scanner from the main page...this will stop the errors. It isn't a problem with internet explorer from what I can see but just with firefox. I was having the problem forever it seems until I did this. AVG must be clashing with firefox with this option enabled. It basically sees most web pages as malicious when they really aren't. I couldn't get into Yahoo or a lot of other sites because of this error.

Flash causes Firefox to slow down and even freeze (and on a gaming laptop, too). How to fix this?
Every time I use the Flash plug-in (for videos on YouTube or PutLocker or whatever), FireFox just slows down a lot and even freezes. It happens very often now and it's really annoying.
By the way, I am using a gaming laptop so I am not sure why I am having these problems. My Flash plug-in and firefox are updated to the latest versions, too.
My specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20GHZ (8 CPUs)
nVidia GTX 560m 3GB vRAM dedicated
16GB RAMOkay, so I uninstalled and reinstalled it. That helped only for about ten minutes and it started doing it again.
I don't know what else to do. :S
