What causes this? (RGB/8/CMYK) to come up in some images only?
Hello,
In the title bar of an image, it tells you its color mode and bit mode. Sometimes, the monitor profile shows up as well, in this case CMYK, which is always checked in my machine.
But, if that is the case, what causes some RGB images to show that entire line and what causes it to sometimes just read (RGB/8)?

You activated proof colors (CMD+Y) for the images with two color modes in their tab.

Lately, I've been getting a blue screen in the midst of working and have to do a cold reboot to end it. Seems to happen when I'm closing windows or quitting applications. Not always, but sporadically. What causes this? I'm using 10.6.8 on early 2011 MBP. Thanks for any help/advice!
You have 10.6 on that machine, I suggest you stick with it for performance, third party hardware and software reasons as long as possible.
Consider 10.8 (not 10.7) when it's released, because 10.7 and 10.8 will require a new investment in software and newer third party hardware as it requires newer drivers the old machines won't have. (forced upgrade because of software, really nice of them)

Far as your Safari problem do these things until it's resolved:
1: Software Update fully under the Apple menu.
2: Check the status of your plug-ins and update (works for all browsers) also install Firefox and see if your problems continue. You should always have at least two browsers on the machine just in case one fails.

I seriously don't know what caused this to start being a problem until today it worked fine, but I added an exception for popups from this one site in Chrome and Firefox decided it wouldn't allow it popups from this part of Facebook and no I am not allowing all the FB apps to have popups I never had to before

- Are they listed in your Puchases history when you log into your account on your computer?
- Are they still available now for purchase? If not then you are out of luck

I just upgraded to OSX Mountain Lion from OSX Snow Leopard, thinking this was the thing to do. I have NEVER had any problems with Snow Leopard, but
after just a few days after downloading OSX Mountain Lion when I turned the computer on, the screen was white. Stayed white. I had to go onto another
computer to find out what to do. What caused this and will this happen again?Did you see a circle made of light grey hash marks in the center/bottom of the screen? My iMac is 5 years old and for every update until 10.8.2 I would get the same white screen and the first few times I paniced and thought the machine was broken! Just let it play out until the desktop comes back up and it should not do it again until you do a system update.

It sounds as if your iMac is going to sleep unexpectedly. Is this during use or after it has been left alone for a while (which can be normal if it is set that way?) If during use, I would suggest that you reset your System Management Controller, using the steps in this article -

My IPOD 30 GB classic has no sound. THis problem started last summer intermittently. THen in December it started playing again and did so for about 3 months without a problem. Again, recently the sound stopped coming from the ipod. I usually use a BOSE docking station that seems to be working fine. THe screen indicates that the songs are playing, but there is no sound, either thru headphones or on the docking station. I have reset, rebooted and restored and still no sound. What causes this to happen and is there a fix?
Which version of iTunes are you using?
What is the iPod software number as shown in the iTunes Summary windows?
If both the soundock and the earphone has no sound after the HardReset, then I think you Audio chip has been fried.
But please try this Hard Reset again
After charging till full charge, at least 2 hours (preferably 4 hours)
Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the red mark when you do the next step
Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs till the Apple Logo comes ON
Then release the buttons
Select your preferred language.
Test the sound again.

My MacBook Pro 13 inch (I've had it for about a year and a half) has started crashing randomly. It happens about once a week and it will happen when I'm in the middle of either watching a video, typing a paper, playing a game, etc. The computer clicks loudly and the screen becomes a series of green and white lines. It works fine upon restart, but it's still annoying whenever it happens. What causes this? Is it fixable?
The image suggests an issue with the graphics board.
The issue may happen more when your machine is generating additional heat, as when you're watching or processing video, or gaming. I can't say for certain, of course, but certain things will reduce the chance of the problem recurring:
1. Keep your machine as cool as possible. When there's additional heat, turn up the fan, or use an app like HD Fan Control to reduce the heat. Use your computer the way you see fit, but be conscious of heat.
2. Back up on a regular basis. Logic board problems can lead to more serious issues down the line, so backing up is a good way of safeguarding your data.
3. Look up "Logic Board Woes" on Google for a comprehensive discussion of the issue. -

Every once in awhile while using safari my bookmarks list disappears. Later it just shows up again. Anyone know what causes this and how to fix it?
I have had exactly the same problem now with two mini iPads. Everything was tried; 1) restarting; 2) restoring factory settings etc. NONE worked. Eventually Apple agreed to replace it. I have had the replacement now for two to three months and exactly the same thing is happening again. So off to Apple tomorrow to get another replacement.
I am quite a heavy user of the iPad so wonder if this is something to do with the fault.
It is so frustrating as sometimes reset works, and then after 10/20/30/40 minutes (you pick) it goes unstable again. -

Although you say you have let the battery drain, was it for long enough? Since nothing else that you've tried so far has worked, I suggest that you leave the iPod unplugged for at least four days, preferably a week. That way, if something is stopping the iPod from turning the screen on, then whatever it is will drain the battrey. However, since the screen isn't on, that may take longer than if the screen was on.
Then, after that time, plug the iPod into a power source and leave it alone for at least thirty minutes. Only after thirty minutes will it show any signs of life, but you should leave it until it is fully charged before trying to use it.
If you get to this stage, the fact that the battery has drained will cause the iPod to reset when it springs back to life.

Mac user OS 10.6.8 Firefox 6.0.2. Click the Firefox icon in dock, program does not open new window. Type cmd+N to open new window, cmd+T to open new tab or cmd+L to enter URL, nothing happens. What causes this, and what can be done?
It's strange. The problem apparently resolved itself after I ran TechTool on it. When I clicked on Firefox last night, I had no problem opening a window. Thanks for your help. (As to your previous post, the focus was on Firefox and neither the speed keys nor the menu bar would open a window or tab of allow me to enter a URL to open a window. Strange!)

Inconsistency in structure u0093KOMPu0094 - what caused this?

We had a problem where all users experienced an ABAP Dump 'DDIC_TYPE_INCONSISTENCY' when running transaction codes such as FB50.
To solve the problem SAP sent the following instructions:
The problem is due to Inconsistency in the Dictionary for the structure
KOMP. If you go to TCode SE11 : KOMP > Display : Utilities > Runtime
Object > Check -> Active runtime object for KOMP is inconsistent.
To solve this error, please activate the structure KOMP manually by
going to tcode SE11 : enter KOMP > Display : Structure Activate
I have asked SAP what exactly caused this problem and they mentioned that a user had changed underlying structure of KOMP named KOMPAKE.
Tcode SE11 is locked in Production to prevent stuff like this from happening and the only tcode the users ran before we experienced the first dump is KE30.
SAP insists that KE30 could not have changed structure. And the only changes made in production were transports imported 5 days before we experienced this problem.
Would anyone have ideas on how I can determine what caused this problem?
I would appreciate any help.

KevinI looked at the version management for this structure KOMPAKE and the only entry I see is from the same user ID with a data/time stamp right before we experienced the first ABAP Dump, and the entry in the version managements starts like this:
Version(s) in the development database:
activ X 640
I also noticed the same structure KOMPAKE changed in our QA environment by a user that was testing KE30 a day after we had this problem in Production.
So maybe KOMPAKE was auto-generated by KE30 and somehow failed before it could complete, leaving it in an inactive state?
But if that is the case why were there no problems before, can a structure be auto-generated if its already active?
I also found this System log in SM21 where it shows the first ABAP Dump and the errors before it:
