You should use D20966 Oracle9i: Program with PL/SQL Self-Study CD Course. It is the combination of D20465 with another course. See here for details.
"This course is a combination of the Oracle 9i: PL/SQL Fundamentals Self-Study CD Course (Part 1) and the 9i: Develop PL/SQL Program Units Self-Study CD Course (Part 2)"
It is also the one recommended by Oracle for taking the Program with PL/SQL 1Z0-147 exam.

Please note that I have not read your mentioned book so I can't comment about it precisely.
For me it is not possible to attend training. However, I can do self-study. Apart from the above book, if I'm missing something in the self-study, could you please guide me.I believe for sql exam, more than reading, its more important how much you have understood the logic of the question and can use different options to achieve the required result. So I would suggest that you do more practice about different problems. Thats what is main required for going for the sql paper.

Approving Self-Registration request using API

Hi all
As an end user I have created a self registration request using using the method, createRegistrationRequest from utility factory.
Now as an approver , i wanted to approve the request. I have updated the Organization name using updateRegistrationUserDetails method in tcRequestOperationsIntf by passing

1Z0-043 Oracle DB 10g: Admin II Self Study CD has many errors

Many slides have errors in 1Z0-043 Oracle DB 10g: Admin II Self Study CD. I keep trying to report these to Oracle Education and I am getting the runaround. Does anybody know if in these cases you should answer it wrong like the Self Study CD tells you it should be, or when they grade the test do they really know the correct answer. The most blatant case of this is a slide in the Post Assessment of "ASM and Materialized Views", "Materialized Views", "Distributed Data Technologies". The slide in the Post Assessment has the description "Match the different distributed data technologies with their descriptions". Out of 4 pairs to match, all 4 are wrong compared to what it says in the course material just before it! Please HELP! This is just one example of many errors on this CD. Do you have to answer these questions wrong when you take the test?

Please note that the Certification Team does not create the self-study CDs. I am sorry you are having difficulty with these CDs. I can assure you that you should NOT intentionally answer questions incorrectly on the test. The certification tests are not taken directly from training materials.

Self Study CDs, Classroom...?

Hi -
I've been using the all-in-one 10g OCA/OCP Oracle guide to sudy for OCA.
Would anyone give a specific recommendation for augmenting this with the self-study CDs or even classroom training (Oracle U)?
The book alone is perfectly comprehensible.
But my concern is that only CDs or, more likely, the classroom, is going to insure that I get the full range of the current material that the is covered in the test.

I attended the two classes at Oracle University (10g Admin I & Admin II), and I used the same reference to pass the exams and clear my 10g OCP. The instructor himself recommended the "All-In-One" exam guide in addition to the course material.
For me, I can say that this reference was really helpful in clearing the exams and getting the certificate. Just make sure you cover the Exam Topics in the exams links.

What fcp export settings to use for bluray DVD

I am editing a huge wedding and have to put chapters and full wedding onto a bluray dvd. What export settings could I use to compress videos a bit so they fit on a bluray without losing a lot of quality?

You have to export to QuickTime Movie, not QuickTime Conversion. You don't want to force any recompression on the video; it will only cause problemsin Toast.
If you want to save time & disk space, UNcheck the option called 'Make movie self-contained' when you export to QT Movie. As long as your Blu-ray authoring tool (eg Toast) is on the same Mac as FCE, you can use the QT reference movie produced this way as input to your Blu-ray authoring app, same as you would a self-contained QT movie.
It is important, however, that you make sure to do Sequence > Render All > Both and Sequence > Render Only > Mixdown before exporting your video from FCE.

It's shorter and speaks about the essential things ... unlike the standard guide "Oracle® Database Performance Tuning Guide 11g Release 2 (11.2)"
I's impossible for me to buy it, because of his price about 1500$.

Self Study CD - Multiple students allowed?

I'm considering to buy the new OCP 12c New Features Self Study Course (Oracle Database 12c: New Features for Administrators Self-Study Course | Oracle Database 12c | Oracle Database | Databas…)
Would this allow me to have several of my companies DBAs trained with that CD? Or is it somehow tied to one person only? I didn't find any legal online documentation regarding multiple usage of the self study CDs.

Problems generating a self-signed certificate using SDK

Adobe AIR 1.1 SDK was extracted to "D:\AIR\SDK\" in XP Pro
SP2 system. Also Java 2 runtime version 1.4 installed.
When I'm trying to generate a self-signed certificate I typed
the following in command line:
D:\AIR\SDK\bin\adt.bat -certificate -cn SelfSign 2048-RSA
newcert.p12 pass123
After a short delay an "unable to create output file" message
appears in command console and an empty (0 byte length) newcert.p12
created.
What may be the problem?
Also I would like to know if there was another way to create
self-signed certificates or is it possible to build air packages
without signing the source code?

I haven't seen this error occur before. It could indicate a
full drive or similar condition that might prevent writing to the
file.
Can you try using Java 1.5? Although 1.4 is officially
supported, I think 1.5 receives much more testing.
You can create self-signed certificates using other tools. If
you do that, make sure the certificate is marked as usable for
code-signing; otherwise, adt won't accept it.
You cannot create air packages without signing them.

Self study sdh certification

I plan to prepare for 642-321 certification (optical SDH). Knowing that I'm beginner in optical network (I got some basics) but I've a good network background (CCNA), do you that's reasonable to prepare by myself ?If yes, which book do you recommand ? Is it a mandatory to do labs with ONS routers ?

For anyone with access to Cisco Learning Connection (any CCNA or above I believe), you can access a number of online courses for free following the links off of the Optical Specialist page. This will provide you some good insight into the basics of SONET/SDH and fiber optic communication.

I recommend Cisco Press's Optical Network Design and Implementation book. It covers the basics of fiber optics as well as SONET/SDH, DWDM and provisioning on the 15454 as well.

Honestly, I would not recommend self-study as a sole preparation method. I worked on a 15454 SONET network for 3 years before attending a training bootcamp at Global Knowledge. SONET is not like regular networking at all so your CCNA experience will really only help as far as connecting the ONS to an IP network for management.

What language do you enjoy using?

Since we have one thread asking what languages you have used. I thought I would ask what one have people enjoyed using the most.
I know that any programming language has its' limitations and is not suitable for every situation, that aside I was wondering what language people have prefered coding in purely from an enjoyment stand point and an easy of use.
Personally I would have to say Java, but I have also liked Pascal. Never was to keen on C/C++ and dread RPG and COBOL.
I work mostly with DIBOL, something like COBOL but not nearly as bad.

Where are you from ?I'm from the USA. English is my native language, but I have a keen understanding of grammar and use it to study other languages. I learned a lot of Spanish on my own through a dictionary and by observing people as they speak. I then took a year of Elementary Spanish last year, but it wasn't challenging enough. I learned Portuguese pronunciation through a friend from Brazil, and learned some vocabulary through a dictionary and similarities to Spanish. I can often guess at what a Portuguese word is knowing its Spanish counterpart.
Well, I don't know.....the need to know it/use it,
force me to have it by my side.... and now it's
natural for me and I don't know if I love it or hate
it... :)I hate the way English is messed up phonetically. I like phonetic languages because you can read them even if you don't understand them. :P
