What certification scenario is appropriate for our product

HI,
We have a product which is a cloud based Web Portal that interacts with SAP. Our Portal does not directly talk to SAP but there are SAP ABAP programs that call our the portal functionality through HTTP protocol. We do not use SAP Netweaver Portal. We were wondering what certification scenario is appropriate to get this certified.

Your application can still qualify for a Packaged Composite Application (PCA) (The name xApp is reserved for SAP applications and PCA is an equivalent for 3rd-party developed xApps). For example, if you use one or more SAP composition tools such as, Composite Application Framework, Guided Procedure or Visual Composer to develop your PCA.

We have a J2EE product which focus on supply chain. Now I would like it to run on netweaver and exchange data with SAP (e.g. material master, purchasing doc) so that it can be seen as extenstion of SAP.
What certification process is suitable in this case? Power by netweaver or Xapps cert?
I looked at power by netweaver but it's merely deploying application on SAP J2EE application server and exporting some iview.
For Xapps certification, it requires the combination of services from more than 1components whereas our application only need to communicate with SAP.
Please help tell us the way to go.

What is AIR not appropriate for?

What type of software would be unsuitable for AIR? Would
hardware or CPU intensive software be better developed using
traditional programming languages? Would some software run better
as a Windows application than an AIR application? I don't have
specific examples, but I'm wondering what kind of software would
not be the best choice for use with AIR.

AIR apparently is not appropriate for Value Added Resale
either. M$ makes a fortune allowing you to extend and build upon
their Office Application suite by using there development tools to
tack on custom functionality, provide solutions and build useful
applications.
AIR is apparently not in that ballpark. AIR cannot be used to
extend the CS3 application suite. There are no interfaces for
accessing any of CS3's imaging, or other functionality or to build
any VAR solutions with any Adobe applications. Each Adobe
application uses similar but not fully compatible interfaces to
expose and extend functionality. There is some support for PDF
files but not in the sense of building value added functionality.
For instance, if you intend to build a medical imaging and
reporting application for a workstation using features of photoshop
for enhancement and InDesign to automate custom report generation,
you can do this using Microsoft high level development tools like
Visual Basic to interface with Adobe's products than you are with
Adobe AIR development tools to interface with their own
products.

How can I calculate the load from all modules in ECC6.0 for our production

I have doubt , how can I check the load from all modules like FI, SD, MM, HR, PP, BASIS, ............etc from sap level. Can you explain from which transaction and how to check the workload for each module seperately from sap level. We are wondering about the size utilization of each module. Our production database is R3 ECC 6.0 on Oracle 10.2 on AIX operating systems.

It depends on your requirement. Base on my experience, VM or website all could meet your requirement. From your description, You could use azure website to host your php website (http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/documentation/articles/web-sites-php-configure/).

What computer do you recommend for music production, photo and video editing?

I'm looking to buy a computer mainly for music production with native instruments and photo and video editing with adobe elements. I'd like a crisp image, good sound and also runs as smooth as possible. I am planning on using external hard drives for most of my storage so space isn't an issue for me. I don't mind buying a refurbished computer. I am looking to spend around $3000 to $3500 on the computer itself. What computer do you recommend?

the new iMac - just introduced - sounds like it'd be the right thing; I'd upgrade to an SSD and the fastest processor offered. You can also add RAM, but I'd do that later as it'll be less expensive and it's very easy to do yourself.

Is Macbook Air (2013) appropriate for music production?

I heard from a friend that the macbook air does not have an audio interface port. I'm not sure what this means, but I'm purchasing a macbook to be my overall computer for normal day-to-day tasks as well as to produce music (via logic pro). I'm just wondering if he is reffering to the firewire port which is absent on Macbook Airs or if there is something else that I am unaware of. I'm leaning towards the Air because I don't need a whole lot of processing power, and I plan to travel a lot in the upcoming year (Europe), so portability is a must. Anyway i won't be producing massive electronic tracks or anything like that. More along the lines of indie/alternative music that probably wouldn't ever go more than 10-15 tracks. Most likely I'd stay in the area of 5-8 layered tracks. I don't really want to spend any more that $1500. I won't be gaming on this device, I really just want it for normal tasks, minor video editing, and recording/mixing, etc.

He probably means 1/4'' port. It does have 3.5mm standard stereo port. The MBA would be appropriate for your planned usage.

What Mac should I purchase for our large iPhoto library?

My name is Mike. We have an iMac from ~ 2005/2006. It's the first one wit hthe Quad-Core CPU from Intel. It's body is white.
It is still solid for everything but iPhoto; iPhoto's now quite slow and frustrating to use.
iPhoto is generally ok viewing photos, but it's really slow when I add text descriptions to the pictures. I add the text to help find the photos later... mostly via Smart albums, and also via the Search function within iPhoto.
We are still on iLife 09 (maybe 08... before Faces & Places).
Given the following iPhoto specs, what minimum Mac machine tech specs do I need?
We have 27,000+ photos, consuming 105 GB disk space.
We have almost 800 events.
We have 500+ smart albums and approximately the same number of regular albums. Purpose? Make photos easier to find on the iPod, when showing others via output to their TV screen.
Do we need the max of:
- RAM?
- Video RAM
- CPU
- Other?
Can any of the Apple laptops support our needs (with a big enough hard drive assumed)?

They didn't have any quad core iMacs in 2005/06. The just switched them from PPC to Core Duo/Core 2 Duo chips.
All the modern Macs come with 4GB RAM standard and most of them discrete graphics chips. If you were to purchase even the newer iMac base model, it is way ahead of the early Intel Macs. Infact, I am running a new i5 Quad Core iMac. It's the base model with only a 500GB HD. I use professional apps like Final Cut and Logic Studio on a daily basis. I don't use iPhoto anymore, but my Aperture library is about 80GB so it is close to your iPhoto library. My iMac opens everything instantly. I can browse my photo library by albums, faces or all events and it never even slows down.
If you were interested in a notebook, I would recommend the 15" or the 17" Macbook Pro with quad core i7. Since you work with a lot of photos, the base model doesn't give you enough native pixels on the screen and uses dual core CPUs, and only the higher end models have a discrete graphics chip with 1GB or more of dedicated graphics memory.
So what I am saying is any modern iMac, or Macbook Pro 15" or higher should suit you well. Stay away from the Mac Mini or Macbook Air because the CPUs are slower, the new ones rely on HD 3000 integrated graphics, and you will run out of hard drive space faster!
My base model iMac only has a 500GB HD, but all other models have 1TB standard. All the audio and video files I do not store on my internal disk, I always put them on an external RAID array through firewire. But my Aperture photo library is stored locally and is super fast browsing. But I only have about 20,000 photos right now.

I want to know what HDMI adaptor is appropriate for my MAC book

I have a macbook, baught in 2008/2009 I believe, im not sure. I don't know which HDMI adaptor I should buy for it... if anyone can prvide me with a picture of what the cable should look like, I would be grateful; or the serial number, anything really.
Also, my bluetooth doesn't work... it doesnt find my TV or other laptops around.

We'll need to know specifically which model of MacBook you have before we can tell you what adapter you need. Apple changed from mini-DVI to mini-DisplayPort during the 2008-2009 period, so yours could be either. Enter your Mac's serial number here:

Labview appropriate for our project?

I am new to Labview, and it has been proposed for a project
we are setting out on. I've scoured many web sites,
including NI, and have a basic understanding of how Labview
interacts with the outside world, but there's nothing like
advice from the experts, so I thought I'd ask some...
We have a device with a dozen or so mechanisms, nothing high
speed or servo-style feedback loops. Basically, we have a
bunch of open/close door, move slide in/out, rotate disk,
drive worm screw types of activities. Stepper motors,
solenoid control, valve closures, etc.
Just right off the bat, is this sort of thing in Labview's
zone?
These mechanisms are close to each other (within 10 feet),
but the device must be at some distance
from the controlling
PC or workstation (100 feet). We are sensitive to cable
size, and so are considering some sort of bus or
multiplexed-serial connection to the device. Is Labview
suited to this "action at a distance with lightweight
connectivity" type of architecture?
Finally, one of our stepper-controlled axes may actually
require a ramp-up of speed (and ramp-down). Can-do for
Labview?
I'll continue to do my homework on this, but like I said, a
few words from the wizards never hurts...

HT4990 What photo size is appropriate for this app?

I have downloaded the app 'cards' to use on my iPad2 but each photo chosen from an existing library is rejected on the card as 'it's too large'. What size photo is allowable?

I ran into this problem today, too. After briefly looking for an app that would resize my photo (iPhoto for iOS wouldn't) it occured to me that mail would, so I e-mailed myself my photo. I chose the large size, and Cards was fine with that size. I haven't mailed the card yet, but I think a 900 kB photo should be OK for a greeting card.
As an aside, it's a bit weird that Apple's photo handling apps don't provide a mechanism for resizing photos, but their e-mail app does. Go figure...

What is a best practice for our end users submitting their completed forms?

I've created an application with fillable fields using Adobe 10. I'm trying to figure out the best way to get the info back. I really don't want them emailing it as it will have sensitive data. I've seen others on this forum referring to using "servers" but I can't seem to find any additional info on this solution. Any advice?

If the data is sensitive, email is an absolute no-no.
In addition to being on a server - that is, a web server - you need to have a secure connection.
That in turn is a web address starting https not just http.
On the web server, an experienced programmer installs a "script".
When the form filler clicks SUBMIT, the information from the form is sent to the script.
The script, in turn, being a program, does whatever the programmer thinks, such as
- put it in a database
- check the data and reply immediately
- email it (very bad idea in this case)
Typically it's in a database, and you - the person in charge - visits a different script on the
same server, to get stuff out of the database and process the information.
I underline experienced. This is no job for a beginner or amateur, or even someone who
has never worked with web scripts. Bad scripts are the main reason that web sites get
hacked and details stolen, or your site defaced or otherwise bought into disrepute.

What Web Services application I can make for our school

I am now making my final thesis project which named "Web Services", the objective of our project is to learn about Web Services and then make an application for our school.
Though we have learnt lots of theories about Web Services, except deploye some simple services on certain server for instance using Axis, we still have no idea about what Web Services can do and how to implement it in a real case.
Our school has several kinds of students(Electronics, Bio, EM,and etc.), what the school aready has are: An existing database contains all the imformation of students and interrelated information of courses, professors. And there outside is an Extranet, forming of jsp pages providing different information and functions to different users, for instance an ICT student, after sign in with his user name and password , can check his personal course schedule, query his reasult sheet, read emails, join in some discussions of activities and courses and etc.
So is there anyone can give me some tips on what application we can do for our school? And If the infomation I mentioned above is not enough, please do not hesitate to tell me,
