I am currently studying for OCP, i do have study materials for Oracle 8i, Can you people tell me, is there major changes from 1Z0-001 to 1Z0-007, and also same for Admin Fundamentals 1 (2nd exam)

What changed from Movi 4.2 to Jabber 4.4 on port connections?

We rolled out Movi 4.2 telepresence Callway clients back in February and had very little trouble with firewalls.
We are now trying to roll out Jabber 4.4 telepresence Webex and users are having trouble activating and if they get activated their audio and video don't work.
Did something change with the new Webex/Jabber 4.4 registration and stream ports?

There is no way to convert the files.
The best you can do is go back to your 4.2 version on your other partition and export the data out and then import into the 6.2 version.
You would go to calendar file export export the data, then contacts export data and so on and so forth than import the files into 6.2
I can't give any recommendations on using 4.2 on Windows 7 all testing I have done is with Palm desktop 6.2 which was designed to work with Vista and since Windows 7 is basically Vista 2.0 it only makes since to continue with that version.

What changed with console fonts?

Yesterday I did an upgrade for the first time in three months. Everything went fine except I lost my lat9-16 console fonts as stated to use in /etc/rc.conf. I just get questionmarks instead, which indicates the font file cannot be found by the system. No panic, I just use default fonts instead. But I want to know what changed from three months ago. Thanks.

pacman.log will tell you what was updated. It's generally a lot easier to determine which package did something if there are only a few package upgrades, rather than hundreds.

1Z0-007 or 1Z0-001: which one?

Which one of these should I take? Are they both current? I read in another post that one of them is for 8i, the other is for 9i. I couldn't verify that from the test description.
I am a PL/sql developer, so I think that 1Z0-001 would be better suited for me. After this first exam, my goal is to then learn data warehousing, followed by the Discoverer and BI related stuff.
If I take 1Z0-001, what books or materials are there? I can't find a 1Z0-001 dedicated book. Only a Sybex for 1Z0-007. There's an 8i Sybex book for 1Z0-001.
Has 1Z0-001 been updated for 9i?

i had come to know that exams 1Z0-007 and 1Z0-051 can be passed from home at http://oracle.prometric.com/ as this test does not require a proctor sign-in (test supervisor). so does this mean that i could write these exams in my home without visiting prometric centers??? or does that mean something else??

Online exams are non-proctored, which means that you can take them at your convenience any time, anywhere. Pre-registration is not required. You register when you are ready to take the exam.
Online exams are closed-book exams --- books, course materials and notes are not allowed. You should prepare for them fully and rely on your own mastery of the material.
Candidates who take the online exams are subject to the Oracle Fraudulent Activity policy and must agree to the Oracle Candidate Agreement (presented at the beginning of the exam). You should never have someone take the exam for you. You should never test under a name other than your own, and/or test using more than one name or Prometric Testing ID.

Exam 1Z0-007 and questions from Controlling User Access

Hi,
I am preparing for exam 1Z0-007 and going to give this exam in two weeks. I like to confirm if "Controlling User Access" topic is part of this exam 1Z0-007? I have checked on Oracle website and this topic is not a part if this exam anymore unless they add it later.
Has anyone recently given this exam and were there any questions related to "Controlling User Access" or user Privileges?

It is certainly true the topic you mentioned is in ISBN: 007-219537-1 printed in 2001.
It is also apparent, unless bigdelboy's eyeball is deceiving him, the topic does not appear in [http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=41&p_org_id=28&lang=US&p_exam_id=1Z0_007] which is authorative.
I have not followed these things that closely until recently, however this will not be the only example of an OraclePress/Sybex book being left behind because of errata/topic updates etc. These often occur when the exams are update for new releases, eg from 10gR1 to 10gR2; or for when the exam moves from beta to production (sometimes these books are prepared and even pulbished while exam is in beta). In your case I suspect the change quite probably have occured when the exam moved from 9gR1 to 9gR2 or to better accomodate the WDP programme. The exam may also be influenced by the content of Oracle training courses that are being taught and from time to time these will be chaged for a variety of reasons.
How you handle it is up to you ..... you may:
- ignore these topics. IMHO you are always entitled to complain if questions asked did not sigificantly match the published topics and you feel this caused you to fail. (I assume the remedy would be a retake voucher). You can hit a comment button on the question and also a comment button the the end of the exam. This is a sort of negative approproach.
- Go over these topics. If your're serious about Oracle you really need to understand this anyway. See it as an opportunity. A few hours revision ought tosee you able to answer 50% of he topics. This is a positive approach. And this if how certification study ought to be .... sometimes it good to investigate a non examined topic that is interesting.

I am new to oracle. I know a little bit about SQL ( Its basic syntax). Now I want to move on to the certification track.( OCA => OCP ). There first, I will have to pass the exam 1Z0-007 ( If I am not mistaken). I want to prepare myself for the said exam. Will any one of you will guide me that from where should I start? Exams 1Z0-001 and 1Z0-007

I wonder, can you be an Oracle 9i certified database associate if you have a combination of 1Z0-001 (oracle 8i Pl/SQL) and 1Z0-031? (9iDatabase fundamentals 1)

dat doesnt make any difference,actually 1z0-007 is purely sql and 1z0-001 is sql+pl\sql;whereas 1z0-147 is purely pl\sql.
so my suggestion is go for 007+147

hi everybody, after analysing about the exams 1z0-001 and 1z0-007 a lot, i have decided to go on with 1z0-001(intro to oracle pl/sql). but now i find in many of the forums that people are not preferring 1z0-001. i did not know why is that so?? strangely some of them also told that 1z0-001 is no more. i am in total confusion.

Oracle 1Z0-007 exam

Hello i realized my 1z0-007(96%) exam it s 10 days now,but in the pearson vue web site i have my status with error.The status must be changed to pass.
i sended an email to pearson vue via the web site but no reply. How can I resolve this situation??

In general from what i see on this forum they generally tend to get things fixed.
- Two things i have noted:
--- There are indications the Pearson VUe software may have been have having the occasional problem recently.
--- This problem can be caused by the test center not sending the result to Pearson VUE to to commications problems.
IMHO you will gain need to contact Pearson VUE. Either:
1) Try their contact form from the Website. Indicate it is your second email. Esnure you fill in your oracle testing id, peason vue id, etc.
or:
2) Ring them by telephone.
