What chipset does Qosmio X300-14U support?

Hello
Does anybody khow exacltly what chipset is in the Qosmio x300 14u please?

Hi
As far as I know the Qosmio X300-14U belongs to the PQX31E series and it has been equipped with the CORE2 EXTREME QX9300 (2.53GHZ) 1066MHZ CPU and with the MCP79-SLI chipset!
The MCP79-SLI is a new mobile nVidia chipset.
I found some important specs of NVIDIA MCP79 Chipset:
1066MHz FSB Speed
800MHz DDR2 Memory Support
1333MHz DDR3 Memory Support
3 Gbps SATA/eSATA
NVIDIA DriveCache (similar to Intel Turbo Memory)
Gigabit Ethernet controller
HD Audio
TPM 1.2 Security
20 PCIe 2.0 lanes

Well title says it all; does the X300-13O support quad and is it at all possible to upgrade the CPU?

    >Does the X300-13O support quad and is it at all possible to upgrade the CPU?
This depends on the chipset and BIOS.
The notebook supports the Mobile Intel(R) PM45 Express Chipset.
    Check this Intel page:
    http://www.intel.com/products/notebook/chipsets/pm45/pm45-overview.htm
Here you can see that only *Intel Core2 Duo* processor is supported

  • Qosmio X300-14U - XP drivers available?

Is there any XP drivers for Toshiba Qosmio X300-14U or could I use Vista drivers for Windows 7?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi
All available drivers you can get on the Toshiba website:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers
For Qosmio X300 are no XP drivers available because XP is the past and its fast enough for Vista or Windows 7. Furthermore the most Vista drivers are also work on Windows 7 but you can already find new Windows 7 drivers on the Toshiba page. :)

  • Qosmio X300-14U - How to make a dual boot system?

Hello to all Toshiba X300 users!
I have recently bought X300 14U and I am trying load XP as a dual boot. I have used floppy, I have done everything in my power to dual boot.
Please could somebody help? I have checked the forum to see how to do it but it keeps on telling the same thing what I have done.
I have tried to ask Toshiba what chipset it is using but they are just guessing.
Could some please point in the right direction tell which store manger I need?
Which chip set and SATA drivers I need an how to apply these to make a successful dual boot with XP Pro SP2?
I have Vista Home premium installed.
I have done as much as I can do.
I have even tried to run virtual pc but Vista home Premium does not support it.
    Than k you very much

    Hello
Check also THIS page. At the end you can find a guide for "Slipstreaming SATA driver into WinXp boot CD using nLite".
I don't understand why you mean this notebook must support everything. As I can see this notebook model is not supported for WXP and if you will install it successfully you will still missing important drivers, tools and utilities and you will not be able to use WXP as Vista.
On one side I understand you but other way to have WXP with limited functionality is also not the solution.

  • What chipset does a Satellite P10-792 have?

I tried reinstalling windows however I currently do not have acces to the toshiba utilities cd. What is the chipset used by this laptop (so I can download the drivers from intel.com) or are the drivers also on this website? (Only see a chipset utility driver that cant be installed before the chipset itself).

The utility driver refuses to install (no supporting chipset driver or somethinglike that)
I see that rc300 is from ati isnt that just the 3dcard? I need a driver like intel or nvidia for the entire chipset.

edit2: I fixed the problem, didn't install the intel chipset utility since it wasnt on the cdrom (but on the internet it was at the p10) I used the display driver (and before that a msi ati system driver for RS300 chipset) and now the VGA and SMbus etc are recognized and installed.

  • Replacement fan for a Qosmio x300-14U

Guys, would anyone know a store that sells fans compatible with this model?
Google seems to fail me and I don't really have the time to send the laptop in for 'repair' that will take a month and cost more than a new laptop..
Preferably some store that ships to Sweden.

Maybe stupid question now but what you want to do now? Do you want to exchange it alone?
It will be nice if someone here will take a time to search it for you. My tip is eBay. There you can find a lot hardware parts for different Toshiba notebooks. Maybe you will be lucky and find it there.

  • Qosmio X300 - 14u Screen Max Resolution

I am struggling to find accurate information regarding the maximum resolution of this laptops display.
it is quoted as 1440x900 but the specs say WSXGA+ 1680x1050
    size : 17 "
type : Toshiba TruBrite® WSXGA+ TFT High Brightness display
    internal resolution : 1,680 x 1,050
    and
    Widescreen TruBrite® XGA (1440 x 900)
    So which is it?

OK, bit more research and I find out its 1680x1050 and it also has an extra graphics card onboard in the shape of a GS9400M for desktop power saving.
    Nice

  • What content does my iPad support?

What content does my I-Pad support so I can watch videos? Because it will not let me download Adobe Flash Player.

iOS does not support Flash so you don't need to worry about trying to download it.  This is why you can't view flash media or play games coded in flash.
You can watch YouTube videos (there are some that will not play because they are not in the proper format for iOS.
There is an MP4 format that iOS uses so you can rip DVD's you own to this version of MPEG video.  It usually takes a couple of steps then you import the final MP4 file into iTunes and sync it to your iPad.
iDevices support MP3 music as well as the ACC music format.
And I believe the format of choice for photo's is JPEG.

  • Qosmio X300-13W or X300-14U? What's the difference?

The X300-13W and X300-14U seem to be exactly the same here: [http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/series/Qosmio-X300-series/1056665/]
But the second is 250 pounds more expensive!!! What makes the difference? ?:|
I've put my order for the x300-13w on hold and I am waiting for your answers to proceed!
    Anyone?

A little late, but I was looking for this kind of info few weeks back. Toshiba sometimes sells both directly and then does the 13U by reseller only.
I contacted Toshiba and they advised there was infect no difference other than one offers 64-bit Vista. In my opinion, and theirs, buying vista 64bit yourself would be cheaper and as Toshiba offers necessary drivers for download it wouldn't be too much of an inconvenience.
I went for the 13W and am happy with the choice. It runs great!

  • Qosmio X300-13W - My experience with warranties and support

Just thought Id post about my experience so that anyone else in the same situation can find some peace of mind.
Bought a Qosmio x300 13w, nice machine. In the box was a flyer about a free upgrade to the standard warranty (pick up and return service). It directed me to go to a website to register but that site had no reference to this free upgrade. Also the uplift I bought came in the form of a booklet. Within it it said it only applied to business users... I am not a business user.
So I called Toshiba up... luckily the lady I spoke to was very helpful.
    Her explanations were as follows:
    - Standard warranty now in the UK includes the free upgrade to pickup and return
    - The uplift in the UK applies to all customers not just business users. The documentation was old
Unfortunately she was unable to provide any of this in writing. I do however have recordings of the telephone conversation.
Called back next day and they registered over the phone. Got an e-mail confirming standard warranty registration but nothing to confirm the uplift. Called customer services again but this time not as much help... they were unable to confirm the registration was successful and instead refered me to technical support. I called technical support 4:50 and got a message saying lines were closed and to call back during normal business hours. The message however didn't say what the normal business hours were; I thought it was 9 to 5.
Anyway, today I went to the website and tried to register the uplift. The site on the booklet was an old site no longer in use. So Googled up the correct site. Registered it but still no confirmation although they took down my e-mail address.
Personally, I am not so happy with the experience so far... after paying 2k for a laptop i expect a much more professional service. Sending me documentation with incorrect details and not being able to offer anything in writing seems unprofessional. Thankfully I have kept call recordings as confirmation and would advise anyone else who can keep call recordings to do so to be on the safe side.

    Hi
Im not from UK but I was able to register the standard warranty and later I have upgraded it successfully Everything went smoothly.
As mentioned on the flyer that was included on the box, this free warranty upgrade has to be registered under standard warranty on the following website
    http://register-warranty.computers.toshiba.co.uk
The uplift you purchased can be registered on the same link by selecting Warranties & Insurance Registration under http://computers.toshiba.co.uk and then Warranty Registration.
If you want to check if your uplift was registered, you can always have a look at the following website by entering you serial number www.toshiba-tro.de/unitdetails

  • Important: chipset Firewire in Qosmio X300-15u Laptop

Hi, sorry for my bad english,
I'm interested in purchasing TC ELECTRONIC FIREWARE KONNEKT 6 for my laptop *Qosmio X300-15u* for audio production in my home recording studio.
I would like to know if anyone can tell me who the manufacturer of the onboard firewire chipset is? Texas Instruments (TI), Ricoh, other?
before buying the sound card I want to be sure that the chipset is not Ricoh, this chipset seems to have many problems of latency
    Any help is appreciated.
    best regards
    Valerio

Ok I checked it, and corresponds to JMicron...
now i try to see if my sound card will work fine, otherwise I'll buy a Texas Instruments firewire using the Express Card slot....
Surely on this machine, so expensive, I would expect that Toshiba, installed a good firewire card, because jmicron is not so good...
If I buy a computer that should be almost in the multimedia technology, certainly with that card I can not handle the audio properly. A Firewire card shouldn't work shared ... this is a serious flaw.
My previous computer was a Sony Vaio, paid less than my Toshiba, but, it had a Texas Instruments firewire card.
I was very disappointed by this unpleasant surprise.
    best regards
    Valerio

  • Qosmio X300 - What is the fastest model?

I am looking for a laptop mainly for video editing and occasional game playing.
Which is the faster and more powerful X300 - the X300-16D or X300-14U?

Hey dude I have the UK model X300-13W that has the QX9300 running the cores at 2.53Ghz.
Looking at the Specs of the QX9300 vs QX9100 you might assume that the QX9100 is faster (2.53GHz vs. 3.06Ghz) but the major difference is in the L2 Cache of the QX9300, which is 12Mb vs 6Mb in the QX9100, making it quite a bit faster then the QX9100 (as mentioned above).
The other thing is (and I think thats why they lowered the clock speed for the QX9300) that because the QX9100 runs at a higher speed it generates a lot of heat which if you own a X300 (especially the ones with SLi FX cards) you will know is a major issue with the model.
Another thing to note is that if I understand the QX9300 architecture correctly (please correct me if Im wrong) then even though games etc only use 2 cores, the way the QX9300 was built makes it possible for apps to "see" only 2 cores, but for the processor to split the work between the 4 cores...
So in my opinion the QX9300 is the faster one and thus the X300-14U is the better choice...the stats at Toms Hardware etc seem to aggree with me.
I can also tell you that from my own experience that the QX9300 is a demon of a CPU...just a shame its completly been owned by the i7s
    Hope that helps

  • Qosmio X300-13P issues of Win 7 64bit upgrade

    Hi,
I've upgraded X300-13P up to Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
Since the model somehow not in the Qosmio X300 models list (why???), I found all needed drivers (win7 64 bit, russian) using laptop s/n and drivers filter.
    Now laptop works.

It's not clear: what does mean "L500 series" - soft, say, for the "Satellite L500-ST2521" is applicable for Qosmio X300? Any model???
And only Flash card for "L500", but native VAP for X300?
