Dear all,
I already own Lightroom 5. Now I would like to use Photoshop as well. What cloud solution will I need. Is there a single one for PS only? What happens to my old Lightroom license if I use the cloud solution and then stop it after a while?
Thank you

I don't understand why iTunes Radio shows a "buy" button, with a price, for songs that I already own. I have iTunes match, so they already have it all on their servers, and they have my full library contents. Yet they still ask if I want to buy the same songs.
What happens if I click on "buy"? Will I get charged again for the same song?

  • What cloud storage fits my needs

I use time machine and icloud daily on both our computers. Its great for my calendar contacts etc  But what happens when a disaster occurs to docs photos etc? In case of such a calamity I got a cloud backup called Zip Cloud. Easy to use but it stores everything thats ever been on say my desktop. If the disaster strikea and my local computers and time machine are destroyed I will be sitting in front of a new mac. I don’t need to see my to do list from 6 months ago. I want only the documents from the last back up to allow me to restore from where I left off. I can’t seem to find a cloud back up system which can so this. Any Suggestions. Thanks

The following is from this Apple document: iCloud: iCloud storage and backup overview
    What iCloud backs up
You have important information on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. iCloud automatically backs up your device over Wi-Fi every day while it’s turned on, locked, and connected to a power source. With your device information backed up in iCloud, you can easily set up a new device or restore information on one you already have.
    Here’s what iCloud backs up:
Purchased history for music, movies, TV shows, apps, and booksYour iCloud backup includes information about the content you have purchased, but not the purchased content itself. When you restore from an iCloud backup, your purchased content is automatically downloaded from the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store. Automatic downloading is based on iTunes in the Cloud availability by country, and previous purchases may be unavailable if they have been refunded or are no longer available in the store.

  • What cloud solution includes single edition DPS publishing?

    hi,
when you subscribe to Cloud there is an option to choose "SINGLE APP" (instead of the whole cloud which gives access to included all adobe software).
So, if you choose "single app" and INDESIGN as that application, will you be able to publish single edition DPS apps as much as you want???
    thanks for clarifying.
    best regards, janne

No. You must get a full Creative Cloud subscription to publish Single Edition apps.

  • What does "each JMS server needs to have its own unique store" mean?

Does this mean that each JMS server needs it's own table? I found this info here:
              http://forums.bea.com/bea/message.jspa?messageID=200022411&tstart=0
I'm attempting to find the root cause of why we're crashing the OS on a highly clustered (14 managed server) implementation whenever a JMS queue (through BEA's JMS JDBC Store) is being hit.
              Thanks!

JDBC stores must be configured to use different database tables (by configuring a different "prefix" for each). Otherwise, they will corrupt each-others data. But I've never heard of this causing an O/S crash. Perhaps you are using native code JDBC drivers that have problems. You might want to try switching drivers, or even simply try switching from JDBC stores to file stores (temporarily) to see if that fixes the problem. You might want to check if you're using a supported JVM, etc. I'm curious about what versions of O/S, driver, JVM, and WebLogic are you using.

  • What happens if you buy a season and already own a few episodes?

What happens if I've already bought a few eps of a TV show and now want to buy the season? Does iTunes recognize that I've already purchased a few eps? Am I still charged for the full season and will I end up with multiple copies of those eps?
    Thanks.

You will end up with a few duplicates.

although i ran GBX6 under 10.5.8, i do believe an intel processor is required. that means that the only complete solution would be a new computer, i'm afraid.
the best you could do is export each track as an audio file from GBi and drop them into your GBX project

    Verify the backup.
Is this TM you are using? TM to airport extreme connected hard disk are known to be fragile at best.

make sure the disk is available and online..
But if it is not working.. then you will have to wipe and start again.

If this is not TM then also verify the source disk.

Hi Carol, good/sound advice by Ziatron so far.
We need more info about your Mac to see if it will even be capable,
So we know more about it...
At the Apple Icon at top left>About this Mac, then click on More Info, then click on Hardware> and report this upto but not including the Serial#...
    Hardware Overview:
    Model Name: iMac
    Model Identifier: iMac7,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
    L2 Cache: 4 MB
    Memory: 6 GB
    Bus Speed: 800 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: IM71.007A.B03
    SMC Version (system): 1.21f4
You'll need to buy SL/10.6 first & get it to 10.6.8, then get Lion... if you can run it.
Or if you can erase your disk...
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD256
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    General requirements
       * Mac computer with an Intel processor
        * 1GB of memory (I say 2GB at least)
        * 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
        * Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.
Which apps work with Mac OS X 10.6?...
    http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/
It looks like they do still have it:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOA
    If it's a core Duo & not a Core2Duo, then it'll only run in 32 bit mode.
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    Lion/101.7 System requirements
        •    x86-64 processor (Macs with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Core i3, Intel Core i5, Intel Core i7, or Xeon processor.)
        •    At least 2GB of memory, (I say 4GB)
        •    Latest version of Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8), with the Mac App Store installed
        •    At least 4GB of disk space for downloading, (I say 40GB at least)
Like Snow Leopard, Lion does not support PowerPC-based Macs (e.g., Power Macs, PowerBooks, iBooks, iMacs (G3-G5), eMacs).
Lion also does not support 32-bit Intel Core Duo or Core Solo based Macs. Rosetta is no longer available in Lion, which means Lion no longer supports PowerPC applications.
It looks like Apple will have Lion available on USB drives for $69...

  • What's the best cloud solution for Aperture photos?

I use aperture and looking for a cloud storage solution to free up space? Interested in Fanfair, Smugmug and Dropbox. I plan to keep using Aperture for recent photos but want to be able to upload (and remove from my hard drive) older photos to free up space?
Any suggestions on product and workflow?

The problem with multiple libraries is that they are inconvenient. Only one can be open and searched at a time, so if you're looking for that photo from your trip to NY, well was that in 95? 96? Maybe it was 94... And as an Aperture Library is pretty much unlimitied in size, I don't see a compelling argument for a library-per-year approach.
Having two libraries - one on the internal and one on the external - seems like a lot more convenient, but I would do that slightly differently.
On the External I would have one complete library. This makes backing up very easy. Back that up and you have everything backed up. From that I would export as a library the material you want to take on the road with you. If you import then ideally import to the one main library, of if not, then you can move material from the internal to the external library using the export as Library/ import library function. So, at all times the internal library is a sub-set of the main one.
I'm wary of Dropbox and other cloud solutions for backing up an entire Library. Why? These are very large databases. I've seen people complain that restoring a library can take days simply because these guys shape their traffic and you're downloading massive amounts of data.
Further, many cloud services store the files on inappropriate disk formats, and this can lead to damage to the Library.
So, my suggestion would be as follows:
One full size Library on an external
That backed up to another external.
Ideally, backed up to a second external - this lives off-site at your workplace, a relatives house, even in your car.
On your internal a subset of your main library.
As for backing up Photos to the cloud, that's quite simple. Services like Flickr and SmugMug - and there are many others - are there and you can upload all your photos, they remain accessible from any computer anywhere in the world.

No solution I am afraid apart from what you have found. I occasionally have to completely re-install all of the apps as well. Same here, it happens after I reboot the system, if I keep it running then I am good.

  • Can I Publish iPad app with Creative Cloud or do I need to upgrade?

I have a subscription to Creative Cloud that is about to expire.
Before I renew - want to know if I can publish an iPad app with Creative Cloud, or do I need to upgrade to Creative Suite or Digital Publishing Suite?
    Thanks!

Digital Publishing Suite, Single Edition was added to the Cloud in Sep 2012
    http://blogs.adobe.com/creativecloud/dpsse/
"As a Creative Cloud member, you can now create, develop, and deliver iPad apps using the tools you’re already familiar with. Design brochures, personal portfolios, yearbooks, annual reports — and integrate interactive elements such as slideshows and image sequences — using our latest release: the Digital Publishing Suite, Single Edition.
This new functionality comes as a plugin to InDesign, making it an approachable and intuitive solution that leverages your existing skills — so if you know print design, you already know how to create an iPad app. What’s even more exciting is that, as a Creative Cloud member, you get the exclusive benefit of being able to submit an unlimited number of iPad apps to the Apple App Store. If purchased separately, publishing each app costs US $395."

    Hi,
For many 17" (or 17.3") machines such as Envy 17, dv,  Pavilion 17 .... you can add a second HDD (my old loan dv7 has two HDD's and my current loan Envy 17 also has 2 HDD's). You would need the following kit:

  • What system requirement do i need to get os x lion?

what system requirement do i need to get os x lion? i got mac os x 10.4.11 right now

Well the primary reason is because it's what Apple recommends. When users vary from the manufacturers solutions is when they have problems. Apple makes it very clear what the system requirments are when they publish:
    General requirements
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
