  • What replication methods are available in Oracle 10g Standard Edition?

    Hi All,
    Our customer wants to have two identical servers at two different sites (Virginia and Utah). Server in Virginia will be the primary and the other one will be Standby. Application will run on the primary database and they would like to be able to use the Utah server (standby) in the event of a failure. The switch over can be manual or automated and does not have to be instantaneous.
    I know these things can be in Enterprise Edition, but the cost is an issue here, so I was wondering what other methods are available to achieve this goal with Standard Edition database running on Windows Server 2008?
    Thank you,
    Sinan

    Spajdy,
    According to the Data Guard documentation:
    Getting Started with Data Guard
    "Oracle Data Guard is available only as a feature of Oracle Database Enterprise Edition. It is not available with Oracle Database Standard Edition."
    Unfortunately, the cost is a concern. I would love to be able to use just the Enterprise Edition and Golden Gate or Data Guard, but it is not possible, so my manager says I have to do what I have to do with the Standard Edition.
    Thanks,
    Sinan

  • What all connectors are available for OIM to connecting to a LDAP?

    Hi,
    Please let me know what all connectors are available for OIM to connecting to a LDAP?

    To answer your question a little more clearly:
    The first reply does have a list of connectors.
    If you are running OIM 9.x you will be better off using an older version of the Active Directory connector. You might have to search the web or request it through an SR. I have multiple versions of this particular connector to service different clients.
    If you are running OIM 11gR1 or 11gR2 or 11gR2PS1 then you will want to use the Microsoft Active Directory User Management connector which is the activedirectory-11.1.1.5.0.zip download. Be sure to apply patch p14190610 if you have OIM 11gR2 or PS1.
    If this answers your question completely please mark the thread accordingly.

  • What development tools are available to a student to add functionality

    Hello,
    I am a student who wants to add some functionalities to the SAP Strategy Management software,
    to make it more collaborative. I subscribed to this very collaborative SAP website to find an answer on two questions:
    - is it possible for me as an external student to add functionality in SAP Strategy Management by programming in ABAP or JAVA?
    - if so, what (free) development tools are available
    I hope that there is someone who can help me with these two short questions. I would be very thankfull.

    What cool applications are out there that I can add to my iPod Classic?

    Maybe I'm dense or something, but how the heck are you going to get Wikipedia to even FIT on a iPod Classic? Last I checked, Wikipedia was over 2 million articles with over 12 million pages. With an average page and content size of 100kb per page, that's easily over 1,200,000,000 KB, or over one Terabyte. Exactly how do you expect to fit Wikipedia, which is literally growing bigger as I type this, onto a 160 Classic?

  • What other assets are available in the flex-included Assets.swf

    I see that certain skins for the close button in the TitleWindow are included in Assets.swf (included in the flex SDK).
    How can I tell what other assets are included in that file? Specifically I'd like to find the matching assets for minimize and maximize buttons.
    I'm using flashdevelop, not cs4 or flexbuilder if that makes any difference in my ability to inspect Assets.swf.
    Example:
    closeButtonDisabledSkin:Embed(source="Assets.swf",symbol="CloseButtonDisabled");
    closeButtonDownSkin:Embed(source="Assets.swf",symbol="CloseButtonDown");
    closeButtonOverSkin:Embed(source="Assets.swf",symbol="CloseButtonOver");
    closeButtonUpSkin: Embed(source="Assets.swf",symbol="CloseButtonUp");

    First of all, there are no skin resources for minimize and maximize buttons in standard SDK Assets.swf,
    so you have to invent them yourself ) and inject to your window class extending TitleWindow.
    The answer is logically grounded in the way that noone ever seen any standard widgets having this kind of buttons inplace,
    thus they doesn't exists at all and resources for them as well.

  • What recovery options are available in Windows 10?

    QuestionWhat recovery options are available in Windows 10?
    AnswerNote: For recovery options in Windows 8, please see this article.
    Windows 10 has a variety of recovery tools to help you recover your computer when there's a problem. These include system restore, reset and keep your files, reset and remove everything, and go back. This article explains each feature so you can know which to use.
    You can watch this video for an overview of your recovery options or read the descriptions below.
    System Restore
    System restore rolls your system files back to a restore point from a previous date. You can make restore points manually, but Windows will also make them automatically. This will undo system settings, changes from Windows Update, and changes from newly installed software (including removing software installed since that restore point).
    Your data and documents won't be changed. This makes system restore a great place to start when you're having a problem and don't know how to fix it.
    To learn how to perform a system restore, read this article:
    How do I perform a system restore in Windows 10?
    Reset while keeping your files
    Performing a reset while keeping your files removes all your installed desktop applications, keeps your data and documents intact, and rebuilds your Windows files.
    This is a good process to try if a system restore doesn't fix your issue.
    To learn how to perform a reset while keeping your files, read this article:
    How do I reset my Windows 10 computer to factory defaults?
    Reset and remove everything
    Choosing to reset and remove everything removes all applications, removes your data and documents, and rebuilds your Windows files. The primary difference between this and reset while keeping your files is that removing everything also removes your files and documents.
    This is a great final troubleshooting step in many cases. It's also useful if you plan on giving your laptop to a new owner.
    To learn how to perform a reset while keeping your files, read this article:
    How do I reset my Windows 10 computer to factory defaults?
    Go back
    If you just recently upgraded to Windows 10, you might be able to go back to your previous version of Windows using Windows 10's go back feature.
    This option will be available if you upgraded within the past 31 days, haven't performed a reset, haven't deleted the backup Windows folder, and haven't created any new local accounts. It gives you the ability to revert to an older version of Windows if you're having problems with Windows 10.

    Hi Gertino,
    Unfortunately, the IMAQ drivers will not run on Windows Embedded. For any other drivers or modules you're interested in, the readme will show which operating systems it supports. However, we do have this module that allows you to develop for certain Windows Embedded operating systems, including our Touch Panel Computers. Using that module, you could program the Touch Panel and certain other Windows Embedded computers as displays for a vision acquisition system.

  • What screen resolutions are available on His-res 15" MacBook Pro?

    Hi.  I can see in the apple web site specs what the various screen resolution settings are for the standard resultion, 1440x900,
    15" MacBook Pro (1440x900, 1280x800, 1152x720,  etc.)
    But what are the settings available for the 15" MacBook Pro with the hi-res (glossy to be specific) screen?
    I know the native resolution is 1680x1050.  Are the other settings as for the standard res also available?
    And while I have your attention, does anyone know what type of LCD panels are used on the standard and hi-res displays?
    TN, PVA, IPS ?

  • I shall wait until Kaspersky URL addon and virtual keyboard are available before upgrading. Why not let us see what addons/ extensions are available for each upgrade without having to download each and uninstall again?

    I have 3.6. It works fine for me. Kaspersky link filter and virtual keyboard are on the toolbar.
    I have upgraded twice now, but each time these and other extensions are not available for the version. So I uninstall and go back to 3.6.
    As you are having this spate of upgrades, it would be so much better if we could know what extensions are and are not available before we upgrade.
    Why not build the upgrades so that extensions work?

    Same problem here too. Curious to see what could be causing this. It has been happening for me for the last two years (South Park). Not too big a deal but it would be great for the auto download to work properly.

  • What programmin laguages are available for mac

    i dont want Java, Python, or Pascal. If possible i want something very similar to Visual Basic for windows (dont suggest boot camp)
    i also want one thats simple to learn!
    PS:
    While I'm asking about programming as i do HTML does textpad allow me to code in my own HTML, if not which programs do.

    A quick simple answer is try the PHP programming language and you should give TextWrangler available at http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/ a try as an editor. PHP works well with html and is used in a number of web applications.
    To really answer the question requires that we know more about what you plan. If you are going to develop html pages (web sites) then you will also be working with a web server such as Apache or Microsoft's IIS (ASP.NET). Consider the server and its ability to process the language that you choose. You may also need to consider where the web server is to be hosted and the languages supported by the hosting company.
    If you want to share more information about your plans, there may be other language and editor choices that will work better. Whatever language you choose good luck with your project.

  • DW extension dev, what special attributes are available for setTranslatedAttribute

    I'm developing an extension for Adobe Dreamweaver. Let's assume CC 2014+.
    Part of the extension are new widgest that i would like to add.
    Came by the notion of translated attributes, which allows me to program a special view for design time.
    Through inspecting the existing code of the jQuery UI implementation i came by some attributes that are special and have meaning.
    For example, using the following i can create a highlight over the segment of code that is affected by the widget:
    ele.setTranslatedAttribute("outline", outlineLabel + ": " + widgetId);
    ele.setTranslatedAttribute("outlineId", "unique");
    ele.setTranslatedAttribute("outlineForSelection", "outlineForSelection");
    ele.setTranslatedAttribute("hiliteChildrenOnSelect", "false");
    There is even an ability to define a context button:
    buttonContainer.setTranslatedAttribute("dwedit:hascontextbutton", "hascontextbutton");
    buttonContainer.setTranslatedAttribute("dwedit:contextbuttonurl", JQuery.DesignTime.Widget.Base.getShowPanelIcon());
    buttonContainer.setTranslatedAttribute("dwedit:contextbuttontooltip", dw.loadString("jquery/widget/tooltip/show panel"));
    [This button can also later raise a click event, mind you that can be caught by listening to:
    DWContextButtonActivate]
    So...i can see none of this is documented anywhere.
    And i'm looking for whatever i can get my hands on in order to enrich the GUI experience for my users.
    So i wanted to know whether anyone knows of a better method than running around rev-enging the existing JS code to figure out what special attributes exist.
    Also, is it only possible to set style, class and attributes in tranlsation...or for instance is it also possible to add html nodes?
    Regards,
    Gal.

    yes, that sounds ok.

  • I want to export acquired data via XML to a remote URL/web service. Is there some online reference for EXACTLY what XML features are available in 6.1?

    Is there any online reference to the XML methods available in 6.1?
    I would like to set up a LabView system that acquires data from local hardware, and then sends acquired data as XML "packets" to a remote web service. I can't seem to find any online reference to this when I search the site. I don't want the "gee golly 6.1 is cool" marketing stuff. Just a simple technical reference to abilities.

    If you're looking for more technical information about all the new features of 6.1, try the LabVIEW 6.1 Upgrade Notes. Here's what they say about the XML functions:
    "Use the Flatten to XML function located on the Functions»Advanced»Data Manipulation palette to convert any LabVIEW data type to the XML format according to the LabVIEW XML schema. Use the Unflatten from XML function located on the same palette to convert a data type in the XML format into LabVIEW data.
    For these conversions, LabVIEW uses a predefined XML schema that is described in labview\help\LVXMLSchema.xsd."

  • What extra features are available for raw files?

    When I'm working on raw files in lightroom, I don't notice anything additional that I can do with them that I cannot do with JPEGs.  With JPEGs I can adjust white balance, and pretty much do everything.  When working on a raw image, I don't notice any difference in what I can do.  All the same controls are there.  So what is the difference?  Thank you for your help.

    Functionally, RAW files are usually rather larger than JPEG files, however they are a joy to work with using Adobe's Camera Raw (the engine which drives RAW editability in Ps and Lr).
    A few points:
    1. all JPEG images (from RAW files) are down-compressed to 8-bit depth, so, technically, one is not working with nearly as many color possibilities as with the RAW formats (which are proprietary by camera manufacturer).'
    2. Depending on what you read you might stumble upon the apocryphal info which says "your camera makes no modifications to the RAW images it captures." This is not exactly true: All cameras "interpret" the "photonic" image data coming into the CMOS sensor from behind a (usually) Bayer array. Depending on which filter in the Bayer array a photon passes through, the camera interprets the electronic data coming from the CMOS as Red, Green or Blue light. There are many other "interpretations" as well.
    3. On both of these points: http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/understanding-series/u-raw-files.shtml
    4. I have found that, with my "starter" DSLR, the (sad, sad) 10Mpx files are not as nice to work with as, say, the files from my 18Mpx T3i. So, be warned, if you have a lower Mpx camera, you aren't going to see as much change with each incremental increase in "blacks" for instance (or "contrast," "fill light" or "brightness") as you will with a bigger model.
    But, working with RAW images, for these and other reasons is better than working with JPEG images. Link to this Adobe Forums post to read more: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2690352
