If it is not too distracting, I like to overlay the credits on a still scene that sort of sums up the whole movie....just so the credits are not overshadowed by the background. That worked well for a movie of a little league baseball game and my favorite baseball little leaguer.
Another time, for a birthday celebration for a retired very special person, I used rolling credits against just a smiling face of the birthday person with a chiming like version of happy birthday music. I kept everything light and readable with a balance between face and credits. Then as the credits ended, I eased into a thank you to him title followed by cameo shots of faces with names (about 3 cameos per image) of all the people who attended the gathering for this special person. So many times as the years go by there will be a person watching the video and asking who is that? So, my cameos were gently placed and presented and served the purpose of letting everyone know/remember who was who.
I tend to let the work direct me in all decisions in creating the credits. Probably white is the generalized answer for lettering against a black background. Just white rolling credits on black does not necessarily grab by attention. But that is a generalization that may not apply to your specific project.
Just some thoughts.

Personally I use both Photoshop and Audition (both in CC) a lot when using Captivate 8. There is roundtripping possible with those two Adobe applications. If you have a CC subscription try it out! I would suggest that you buy a visa or mastercard gift card and put a few dollars on it and use it to access the store. Just add money to it before you want to buy something from the store and it will act like a normal credit card for you.

A few years back I was architecting an occasionally connected .Net desktop application.
VS 2010 was offering full support for Microsoft Sync Framework and SQL CE with Entity Framework.
This seemed like the perfect marriage, so I ran with it, and the resulting software solution is still successfully running in production, years later.
Jump forward to today, and I am architecting a new occasionally connected .Net desktop application.
I was really looking forward to taking advantage of the advances made by Microsoft in using the tools built into VS 2013.
However, what I discovered has dumbfounded me. VS 2013 has no designer support for Sync Framework, and worse, built in support for SQL CE has been completely removed, including the ability to generate Entity Framework models from a
CE database using the designer.
My question to the community is, what tools should I be using to solve the problem of offline storage in my brand new .Net application?
I am aware of ErikEJ’s SQL Server Compact Toolbox, which brings back some support for these features in VS 2013, but it is not as fully featured as the VS 2010 native support was, plus it does not have the institutional “Microsoft” stamp on it.
I am building a multimillion dollar corporate solution that I will have to support for many years.
I would like to have some comfort that the technologies I select, today, will still be supported 5 years from now, unlike the way Microsoft has discontinued supporting Sync Framework and CE in the most recent VS.
I can accept open source technologies, because there is a community behind them, or off the shelf corporate solutions, since they will be driven by financial gain, but I have trouble committing to a solution that is solely supported by an individual,
even if that person is a very talented Microsoft MVP.
Some of the features of SQL CE that I would like to keep are
Built in encryption of the file on disk
Easy querying with an ORM, like Entity Framework
Tools to easily sync up the offline data store with values from SQL Server (even better if this can be done remotely, such as over WCF)
Does not require installation of additional software on the client machine, as SQL Express would
Please, provide your feedback to let me know how you have achieved this, without resorting to simply using an older version of VS or Management Studio.

Based on your description, you can try to use SQL Server 2012 Express LocalDB.
LocalDB is created specifically for developers. It is very easy to install and requires no management, but it offers the same T-SQL language, programming surface and client-side providers as the regular SQL Server Express.
SQL Server LocalDB can work with Entity Framework and ADO.NET Syc Framework. However, there is no built-in encryption feature in LocalDB which
can let you encrypt database. You should decrypt/encrypt data on your own, for example, using

The ICC-profiles should be selectable.
They should always show up behind the RGB and CMYK entries.
Also the used CMM should be selectable and documented on
screen.
A colortransformation without knowing about these conditions
is worthlessly.
There should be a information whether the created color fits
the RGB- or CMYK-Profile-Color-space or was cropped (by the
rendering intent).
It would be nice if kuler would be allowed by the user of
that website to use the actuell CS3-Colorsetup (selected on the
users computer).
If a color theme is stored and published, all this should be
documented with that theme.

How can I use an image as background for the entire page?

With CSS mill, the solid color was defined in the color.X.property file and there is no place to define an image to use as the background? Is it doable to use an image as the background for teh entire page? If so, where to add it and how to implement? Thank you!

While I have been able to add the image to a JLabel and insert it into frames, so that it looks like a suitable background, I have found it impossible to place any other component over the top of said imageDid you set a layout manager for the label?

My images are coming back washed out, yet look great on screen. my camera is set to Adobe RGB, so i wonder if this is the problem... usually, consumer cameras are sRGB, I think.

What color calibration should I use in SystemPreferences?

I read an older thread about setting one's color calibration. My iMac runs on OSX 10.7. I do a lot of photo editing using Adobe Lightroom 5.2 and sometimes switch to Adobe Photoshop elements 10. Should I select the Adobe RGB color calibration over the other two (Generic RGB and sRGB)? I understand the color space of Adobe RGB is wider than sRGB.
The reason I bring this topic up is because a friend who is on my photo mailing list says that many of my photos appear overexposed. I usually check the Histogram in PP and photos in my monitor look good, so I don't think I have a problem.On the other hand, his photos often appear muddy. He does not use Adobe software in PP.

Unless you have a fancy expensive monitor designed specifically for color fidelity, you will want to calibrate to sRGB. sRGB is a standard for displays generally.
If the calibration in System Preferences -> Displays is not good enough for you, you will want a calibration tool such as the Spyder4.
If your display is calibrated to sRGB and someone else is calibrated to AdobeRGB, when you get their image it should not generally look muddy; instead it would be missing some color detail in some of the most saturated colors.

What is the best setup for us to maintain ownership of our corp issued iPhones and iPads yet allow users their personal apps from their iTunes accounts? I have gone out and created a corp apple ID that we are using in the iCloud setup on all our corp owned devices. This keeps the end user from using their apple ID in iCloud and hence when employee's are unexpectedly discharged we still maintain ownership and don't have to ask them for their Apple ID & password when resetting the devices. It also does not allow them to do backups to the cloud or locally either way. We are very careful to turn EVERY thing off inside the iCloud set up area. Even turning off iMessage and share my location. We do keep the find my iphone or ipad on however. So how can I lock these settings to keep users from changing them? Or is there a better way to manage corp devices without having to buy into anything to manage them, we are a non profit.

That would be the proper thread to post, cause obviously just cause you setup the way above it will not stop users from turning off or on iCloud features like contact and then problems with entering incorrect passwords. You can also try restrictions to account changes, but that is not guaranteed to work either.
Guys on that thread may be able to point to different professional solutions, but those are unlikely to be free.

My iPod touch 4G suddenly pops up with 'charging is not supported with this accessory' no matter what cord or source I use. It worked fine for months before this. What can I do?

This is crazy!  I love my iPod but it suddenly has a charging issue. Please HELP! I had absolutely no problem charging it for 7 or 8 months. Then last week I started getting an error message every time I try to charge it. I used to be able to charge it through my PC, PS3, wall adapter or car adapter. Now I get this message no matter where I try to charge it or with what cord! It says, 'charging is not supported with this accessory'. It happens after about 3-5 min of charging. Then I have to unplug it and plug it back in to keep charging it!  How or why did this happen and how do I fix it?

If you did not do a reset of your iPod please try that (you will not lose any data)
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If this does not work inspect the opening in your iPod where the cable connects. Look for any debris and clean it (a magnifying glass may be required).

Data plan! why??? whats the difference of me using Wifi or being charged for a data plan?

Feature phones iterally suck, even the internet pro reviews on the phones are very low and most of the feature phones that are reviewed the reviewer gives their last comment as "don't buy" .
I do not need a data plan, ( I carry either a Verizon netbook or a notebook for all my internet needs) nor am I comfortable with the charge of a data plan being necessary or is this simply another way for a large company with a large profit margin to stick it to the consumer knowing we have to maintain a cell phone in this day and age?.
I had settled on the KinTwo, the reviews are not glowing but .... r not that horrible either. It is also the only phone which gives the owner WiFi accessibility. (which makes me wonder if this is the reason Verizon has pulled it off the market). From my extensive research the KinTwo is the only feature phone choice. But..... When I went back to the site to order it was gone, and the VW stores do not carry it.

What method does iPhoto 6 use to convert Raw photos for Books?

I shoot Raw. I like to have the odd soft cover iBook for Holiday memories.
Obviously iPhoto does not upload the RAW files to the printers, so what is its conversion process? Would I get better results if I converted them first before creating a Book File? I have followed the list of disappointments people have with these smaller books. Old Toad was most helpful with the Pref Setting 300 tip, but I wonder if in the process of conversion from Raw iPhoto uses a lower quality route?
Any one out there who knows the best practice for Raw Shooters. By the way I am based in London and so the alternative printing websites do seem to take a bit too long with postage.

You can pick up the basics very quickly but it pays in the long run to discover its incredible versatility by visiting the Camera Raw forum.

I am using report wizard of Reports Developer 9 to create report for Sybase database. Assume the Sybase database uses the following setting:
user: sa
password: password
computer IP address: 10.0.187.30
computer host name: development
port number: 2468
database name: TEST01
If I use sybase-merant (JDBC Query) as the data connection, I need to input USERNAME, PASSWORD and DATABASE at the Connection Box. What should I input for the DATABASE? I have inputted "sa" as the USERNAME and "password" as the PASSWORD. When I inputted "10.0.187.30:2468:TEST01" as the DATABASE, I got error which indicated the data source cannot be connected. I have also tried "10.0.187.30,2468:TEST01", "10.0.187.30:2468", "10.0.187.30,2468" and "10.0.187.30", but none of them worked.

If you go through the link, mentioned above, an entry is needed to register a JDBC-Driver for your database(sybase).
Driver entry contains a attibute "connectString", which contain the
connection syntax to the datbase.
connectString = "mainProtocol:subProtocol://databaseName"
mainProtocol and subProtocol part of the connection String are defined in config file and "databaseName" has to be mentioned in JDBC Query Connection Diloag.
Sample databasename : database:portnumber
Here database refer to the sybase database user want to connect and portnumber : port on which its running(it will be normally 4100 or 5000).
Please refer the comments in file ORACLE_HOME/reports/conf/JDBCPDS.CONF for more detail.
