  • What comes in the box with the Airport Express?

I'm looking to buy and Airport Express for my husband but I really can't find a helpful sales person willing to put up with all of my questions. For starters, what comes with the Airport Express? One salesperson told be that I need to buy cables and another one never mentioned it. Does it come with cables or just the unit? I'm assuming it comes with the software? Can you help me?
    thanks

    Hi Alan
I have an equally simple question. I have a G5 desktop and a G4 TiBook. Last week I installed an airport card in the TiBook as I use it mainly at meetings and when travelling.
My non-wireless adsl at home runs through a router which has two ethernet ports. Do I just buy the Airport Express unit, plug it into the spare ethernet port, and my TiBook will find the broadband connection wirelessly from anywhere in the house? Is it all as simple as that? Is the single Airport Express unit all I need to create a wireless connection?
    Thanks.

  • Anyone else with a small chip or two on the edge of your new iPad Air?

Anyone else with a small chip or two on the edge of your new iPad Air?
I just picked up my new space gray Air and it has a small defect or chip in the edge which is purely cosmetic but is disappointing since I haven't had the thing for an entire day.

yeah, actually I just got a black one 16gb wifi from Target which has a chip too!
I took it to Apple store but they told me to go back to Target...
but all of the iPads are sold out in the Targets around me...
not having a great time with my first iPad experience....

Sorry, but you are not addressing Apple here, we are all users in these forums, just like you.
If you buy an iPhone from another country, the warranty and service can only be handled in the country where it has been bought. Since Apple does not sip internationally, you'll have to bring the iPhone back in person or send it to someone who can do that for you in the USA.
The warranty regulations are clear about that: Read Apple’s One Year Limited Warranty for iPhone

  • Question about what comes in the box

In the Apple store on apple.com, for an iPod 60GB, it says that earbuds, usb cable, dock adapter, a quickstart guide, itunes software, and a case come in the box. However, on circuitcity.com and bestbuy.com, it says that only the earbuds, usb cable, and quick start guide come in the box. What's going on?
    iPod   Windows XP

Sometimes they like to leave details out. Don't know why. If you want to know what is actually in the box just use the information the apple store gave you. It is accurate.
BestBuy and CircuitCity can't take things out of the iPod box as it comes shrink-wrapped from Apple.

  • How to use the headset that comes in the box with ...

Hi. I just got the nokia 5800 XM as a gift. It contained a headset in the box, that could be connected to the phone on one side, and to the earphones on the other side. However, when i'm connecting it to the phone, i'm not getting any indication on the phone display that a headset is connected, and if i get a phone call it doesn't go through the headset.
I noticed that when i connect the earphones directly to the phone, the phone asks me to specify what they are (headphones, lineout tv-out cable, music stand). but when i connect the headset, it doesn't ask me that. Does this mean that hte headset itself is damaged?
    Thanks.

I had a similar issue.  All music played through the headset and during phone calls the mic worked but could not hear the person talking through the earphones, this just went through the phone.  Plugged and unplugged the headset numerous times, checked all settings, did everything I could that seemed related and it made no difference.
With all this playing around the phone's battery went flat and the phone switched off.  Plugged the phone into a charger and when I switched it on the headset miraculously worked perfectly.  It still does some strange things occasionally.  When listening to music the call answer button on the little control box sometimes doesn't work...and no the key lock isn't on!
When it works, the headset is great, but it's a similar experience to all Nokia headsets and car kits I have owned in the past, a bit flakey and tend to lock up at times.

  • What comes in the box

I just got a new MacBook Pro. I got a cleaning cloth, a power cord, and another cord. What is that cord?
    Thanks for your help!

    You're welcome.
I loathe the "duck's bill". If the wall socket is any bit worn, the power brick will be bouncing off the floor in no time. Or if it is a floor socket, someone inevitably will kick it.

  • The glass on my new ipad air was broken one day. I have had it for about a month. 1 day I took it out of its case as usual and the screen was splintered at the top and cracked downwards.  It had not received any bangs, or been dropped or anything.  Help!

Hi, I have had my ipad air for about a month.  The other day I took it out of its cover and it was splintered from the top with downward cracks.  It is new and under warranty so I rang the support team.  They told me that it would cost about €120 but could be repaired on the spot and they made me an appointment at the local genius bar.  I got there and they told me that I had dropped it or banged it or something.  I said I had not, they insisted that I must have done.  I repeated several times that I had not - it was obvious they did not believe me, they said I must have done.  They then told me they never repaired or replaced broken glass in any ipads, that the man on the 'Support' had been wrong.  They always replaced the whole ipad at a cost of €300.  I was devastated at not being believed and at the amount of money they were asking for.  I left and rang the support again.  I was told their system was down but to call on monday to get a quote for the reparation, I could send it to my home insurance company and they would undoubtedly cover the repair.  I asked how long this was all going to take because, I was in the middle of a big project and this was taking up my time, and also I needed the ipad for my work.  They told me it would be done in a minute.  I rang on the Monday and I was told it would take up to 5 days to send but probably it would arrive sooner (it is now thursday, I have received nothing).  I then rang my household insurance, a big company - and they told me they had never heard of such a cover.  I asked if this was because I had a very basic policy, they said, no it wasn't that - I didn't have a basic policy I had quite thorough policy, but they didn't know of a policy in any comany that would cover this sort of damage.  I was stunned - yet again I had been given false information and false hope by apple.  Yet again I was let down.  I then decided to do a further investigation on the internet and discovered a long trail of comments on Apple Forum of people who have also had splintering and cracking of the ipad air glass for no reason whatsoever.  Some have commented that the glass could be thinner in order to reduce the weight, some have said that the splintering could be caused by a weakness in the casing at the top where it is plastic (the ones that take sims) that might make it more flexible and therefore liable to crack.
All of the posts and complaints on the apple forum and elsewhere seem to point to a design fault.  However throughout all this I have been mislead by apple support staff constantly who all say different things, I have virtually been accused of lying by denying that my ipad received any kind of impact by apple staff and I have been left feeling incredibly frustrated and upset by the total lack of any kind of real help by Apple.  All this despite being acomplet apple user in my business for the last 25 years, where I have never come across this attitude towards me as a customer before.
When the screen on my iphone broke, it was because I fell in the street while I was talking on the telephone, it flew out of my hand and smashed on the pavement.  I was rolling around in agony, while my son was holding up the smashed telephone wailing 'Mama, you've smashed your iphone!!!'  This of course, I blamed on noone but myself - it broke because it fell, I paid an arm and a leg without protest to get it repaired.
This is not the case with my new ipad air.  It has splintered for no good reason at all - and noone at Apple seems to want to help me or to care!
I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me if there is anything else I can do to ge this matter resolved?

If it was a refurb replacing one that was under warranty, the warrany is good until the original warranty expires or 90 days from replacement, whichever is longer. In either event, it should still be covered if you've only had it for a month. (assuming you're in the US here). You can try to restore it as a NEW device rather than restoring from your backup, but this sounds like a hardware failure... I think. I'm not sure what you mean by "the top half of the screen slides". If you mean only the top half is touch sensitive, how can you determine that? You wouldn't be able to slide to unlock if that were the case...
Sorry, I'm a little confused by that description.

I wouldn't judge. I've been to Arch for a week, you know? But as said, it's VERY close to it.
What I dislike after a week is makepkg not handling dependencies automatically (which would be overhead, so probably not appropriate).

Don't actually need that as said ... I see no real benefit of having that other than not beeing a KDE user or having Gentoos useflags.

There is one faint glimmer of light. Depending on where you bought PSE you might have gotten a redemption code rather than a serial number. If you didn't also throw away your receipt, check that for a code. Then go here, if you find one:

Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app.  I am certain other applications also need this information.  Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information.  Feel free to post additional information, faulty information, or other related topics below as this is simply a collection of data and it would be practically impossible to test all of them. Thank you!

    Hi there ..
i have an iPhone 4S, i bought from iraq ( Bagghdad ) and now i leave in france ( Poitiers ) i have with me the box and what's in the box . i bought before 10 months so i didn't complete my first year of garanty, can i change my phone without any paper of garanty ? because i read in thier website
    " Warranty
Every iPhone includes 90 days of free telephone technical support and a one-year limited warranty. "
so can i change it while am in france ?

The iPhone is not sold officially by Apple in Irag so no telling which country this iPhone was intended for by Apple when new.
The iPhone's warranty is not a worldwide warranty, and if this iPhone was sold as carrier locked when new and was hacked/jailbroken to be unlocked, the warranty is void if this is discovered/determined by Apple.
You can make an appointment at an Apple Store in France to determine which country this iPhone was intended for by Apple when new.

  • What is the box with the down arrow in email.

What is the box with the down arrow in the email.  it is at the top near the reply arrow.

OKAY....are you guys ready for the answer to this question: "What is the box with down arrow in it in my iPad email?".
This drove me nuts but I stuck with until I figured it out.
When you open a message in iPad, sometimes you'll see a box with a down arrow. Touch it...and your email disappears!!!
    Where does it go?
Lay down your iPad and go to your computer...you CANNOT access the Archive folder from your iPad!
    1) Go check your gmail account from your computer. When you click on a message, look in the top row of 'choices' in what to do with that emai: back to inbox, ARCHIVE(a box with a down arrow), report spam, delete, move to, labels, and more are your choices.
    2) now look in the left hand column and you'll see: Inbox, starred, Important, Sent Mail, Drafts, Notes, Personal, Travel...now mouse over Travel (or whatever your last item is in the column) and "More" will appear.
    3) Click on 'More' and "All Mail" will appear.
    4) Click on "All Mail" and voila!!! All of those messages that have been disappearing from your iPad are found there.
    5) NOW FINALLY, you can click on each message in the "All Mail" folder and you have the option to move them to any folder you wish.
    6) UNDERSTAND THIS: You CANNOT access the 'All Mail' folder from your iPad...you MUST use your computer.
Hope that helps all of you who were as frustrated as me.
Ya think Apple would write something about this somewhere!!

  • What is the plastic thingy that comes in the box?

Just bought the iPod touch and was wondering what the plastic thing that comes in the box is. It looks like a protective thingy for the cord that connects to charge the iPod. Does anyone know what this thing is?

The clear thing is a stand. The white thing is the dock adapter.
The stand can be seen in use here:
