What content is being synced?

I have Apple TV 2.0 and it is working very well. I have perhaps 30 movies (mostly from ITunes U) and lots of podcasts on it and subscribe to a number of podcasts so there is usually some new content.
Whenever I reopen ITunes, when I click on the device Apple TV it appears to be RE-syncing movies that I already have on the device...the progress bar at the top will say "copying..." but the thing being copied is often something I already have on the Apple TV. Anyone know about this behavior? I have "custom sync" enabled also...if I change something it does not need to resync everything, does it?

I have an iPhone 4. I would like to transfer music from my HP computer to the phone. The music appears on my iTunes page on the computer but I cannot figure out how to transfer it to the phone. I'd also like to transfer the phone numbers on my phone to my computer (so I can keep them on my backup drive in case something happens to the phone). When I connect the computer and the phone, it says it's 'syncing' but I certainly can't figure out what's being 'synced'. The only thing I've ever been able to transfer at all are photos from the phone to the computer. If I must upgrade my phone system to 6.1 to do thi, I am reluctant to try that because it says I must save things or they will be lost (e.g. music I've purchased, phone directory, etc) - which I have no clue how to do. My nearest Apple store can only be reached by plane (in Honolulu). Thanks for any help.

What exactly is being synced in Mail?

In System Preferences>.Mac>Sync there is a checkbox for Mail,another one for Mail Settings (or so, I can't check because I have a keychain error that does not allow me to get to the Sync page). Can anyone tell me what exactly it is, that is being synced??? I understand that the mail (i.e messages) itself are being synced between Macs in a different way.

What contents are being deleted if I click "Manually Manage Music and Videos" in my iPhone 4S?

Would it delete all my txt messages, contacts, and notes? I don't mind getting all my apps deleted, but my contacts are very important.

I'm trying to sync the contacts on my iPhone 5 with my contacts on my Mac Book Air (merge them), I'm also using Outlook (Microsoft) to manage my email account and my contacts. I used to sync my contacts from my previous iPhone (4S) with my contacts on my Mac and also with contacts on Outlook.
Now that I have iPhone 5 I missed that sync (iPhone-Mac-Outlook), so I figure it out that in iTunes there is this message: "your contacts are being synced with Microsoft Exchange over the air. Your contacts will also sync directly with this computer. This may result in duplicated data showing on your device"
Every contact created on iPhone doesn't sync with my Mac or Outlook.
How should I configure my iphone and my mac to sync properly??

Not surprisingly there have been no answers to this question because the only person who knows how to use iTunes/iCloud/iPhone is too busy.

HT1386 How can I get local content only to sync FROM my library to my Iphone and not the other way around?

Ever since ICloud, my local Itunes library has been poluted with old music that I got rid of a long time ago.
I purchased an album from the Itunes Store App on my Iphone, listened to all the songs and decided I don't like all of them but some of them. So I went on my laptop and the album I purchased loaded into Itunes. I manually deleted the content I didn't want from my Itunes library. Once my library was set the way I wanted, I wanted my Itunes library synced into my Iphone, but instead, my Iphone's content gets re-synced back into my Itunes library and the content I once deleted tries to re-download.
It's agrivating that what was once an easy automated process is now a slow agonzing manual process. I'm considering getting rid of my phone if I can't find a remedy for this, which is the only apple product I now own.

I don't mind streaming the old music on my Iphone but I DO NOT want it downloaded into my phone or into my library. I like to keep ICloud and my Itunes Library seperate.
I just want to click "Sync" on Itunes, and my phone syncs EXACTLY how my Itunes library is.

Backup, then restore the iPhone without syncing. Only the content currently in your library can be restored back to it.
Turn off all options in iTunes and on the device for automatic downloading of purchases.
In principle purchases made on the device are copied into the iTunes library when syncing. This ensures that you have the media ready to place back on it or a replacement should the device be lost, stolen, damaged, or need restoring, When you want to remove content either delete it manually from both the device & the library at the same time, or uncheck it within the library so that it is removed from the device during sync, then remove from the library later.

Is there a way to see what files iTunes just synced with my iPhone?

OK, I've been working with my music files trying to find some sort of work-around to iTunes not updating or deleting my lyrics on my iPhone. I been working on one music file at a time. I'll make a change of some sort, then have iTunes "Sync" to my iPhone which is connected directly to the laptop.
I've only updated ONE file, but I see iTunes syncing many files. The first time I can see why, but I'm doing my syncing mere minutes apart, so after the first sync, I would think the only thing to be "synced" would be the one music file I just changed, but I keep seeing others.
The problem is, the list of files being synced goes by too fast to read.
Is there a way in iTunes to see a list of what files it just synced with my iPhone?
I'm using iTunes 11 on a Windows 7 Home Premium system.

Takes all the tedium out of updating by letting the server do the mundane work for you.
Create one text file (containing the current Library item code), add a single include statement in all website pages to include the text file. Upload. The entire website is then up-to-date.
To update all affected pages in future, you merely edit the one small text file (the Include), upload and you're done.

If you are seeing an Apple ID that is not yours, then you have purchased content on your iPad that is tied to that Apple ID. You would need to know that password or remove the content that is associated with that Apple ID.

What content does my I-Pad support so I can watch videos? Because it will not let me download Adobe Flash Player.

iOS does not support Flash so you don't need to worry about trying to download it. This is why you can't view flash media or play games coded in flash.
You can watch YouTube videos (there are some that will not play because they are not in the proper format for iOS.
There is an MP4 format that iOS uses so you can rip DVD's you own to this version of MPEG video. It usually takes a couple of steps then you import the final MP4 file into iTunes and sync it to your iPad.
iDevices support MP3 music as well as the ACC music format.
And I believe the format of choice for photo's is JPEG.

If it is not connected to wi-fi or it is off, then you cannot play a sound or locate it.
There is nothing more you can do other than look for it.

I am having the same problem when trying to purchase all of Lost Season 2, but I was able to buy a single episode of another tv show. I was also able to buy all of Lost Season 1 a couple of days ago.

I recovered from time machines's backup harddisk
Time Machine may be using the disk space - if you have Time Machine enabled and not the backup drive connected, TM will make local snapshots, if you have free disk space. See Pondini's webpage for more information: Time Machine - Questions 30. What are Local Snapshots?
I disable these local snapshots on my portable macs, to be sure, how much space really is free.

Wolfenstein: The New Order message "please wait while downloadable content is being validated"

When starting Wolfenstein:The New Order, the game goes through all the publisher/developer title screens and goes briefly to the standard loading screen then the screen goes totally black. If I press a button on the controller, the game shows the "Loading profile" prompt with the spinning circle. Soon after the message is replaced with "Please wait while downloadable content is being validated". Here is where the game just hangs forever. I have left it on this screen for over an hour and nothing happens. I contacted Bethesda support and they sent me here saying it is a PSN issue. I have already tried uninstalling and deleting all save games, etc. but the problem persists even on a non-patched game. This started happening on Sunday and I have already played the game through once and was on second playthrough and this is the first time I have encountered the problem. The issue you are experiencing may be related to PSN and/or Internet connectivity. Please make sure that you were signed into PSN and online when trying to run the game as it needs to validate the downloadable content. The Bethesda Technical Support Team. From what I can tell, I am signed in to PSN since I can access the store and see my trophies and friends online. When I signed out and signed back in, I did get a message about not being able to reconnect but it did eventually. I have done extensive searches on the web and I don't see anyone else having this issue.

I am having the same exact problem. I got this game from gamefly last week and it did it. I told gamefly they sent me an entirely different game and it still is hanging up at the validating dlc screen, a wheel just continues to spin and nothing happens. My interent is fine and I am connected to PSN as I too can see that my friends are onine.

Can't help you with the sync problem but the splitting of events was supposedly fixed with the iPhoto 9.1.3 updater.

This update fixes a problem that could cause some events merged in iPhoto to be split back into multiple events on iOS devices after being synced.
So update iPhoto to 9.1.3 and re-sync. If you already have updated to that version then I'm at a loss.
