Another question is can I do the exam before take the course or courses ?You can write certification exams as you want, it can be either after taking hands on course or before taking the course.

The course I did to gain OCP certification in Oracle Database 11g does not appear on the courses submission list on the website of pearson vue, I sent an email to [email protected] from < email address deleted by moderator >, without an answer in 7 days since 01/28/2015, the email is below, the title of my course is in Portuguese.  What should I do in this case ?
    Dear Oracle.
I am sending this email because recently I passed in the exam 1Z0-053 Oracle Database 11g: Administration II, which is the last examination necessary to acquire the OCP Certification. However, in the path to the certification I need to prove that I participated in an Oracle Official Training.
Searching for the course on the pearson vue site, I have not found the course name on the list. So I am sending this email with the course information required for certification. I attended to the course in college FIAP (http://www.fiap.com.br/en/conheca-a-fiap/parcerias-estrategicas/), in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, from March/2010 to March/2011. Accessing the link above is possible to verify that the educational institution is an Oracle Partner. The title that I got was "Graduate in Oracle Database Management".
In this email I attached a copy of the FIAP Certified Course (front.jpg certificate, certificate back.jpg). I’m also sending the data from my profile in the pearson vue site (Pearson VUE - My profile.pdf), and my scores in the exams for OCP certification (1Z0-051.pdf, 1Z0-052.pdf, 1Z0-053.pdf ).
If you need any further information just let me know and I will provide.
Please acknowledge this information and grant me the OCP certification (Oracle Database 11g Administrator Certified Professional).
    Regards.

    Sorry, I expressed myself badly.
When I access http://www.pearsonvue.com/oracle/course/ and start submission process  of the course, in the first step “Select the track for which you have completed a certification requirement” I selected the option “Oracle Database 11g Administrator OCP”, in the second step I selected “ILT = Instructor Led Training”,  but when I got on the third step “Which course or requirement did you complete?”  I have to choose the course name that I did, the course name that I did does not appears in that list, so I do not know which one to select, even having at the end of the form the option “Other ...(Course or requirement is not shown above. Please enter title below.)” the course name I did is in Portuguese/Brazil, the name is “MBA em gestão de banco de dados oracle” in Portuguese, which in English would look like "Graduate in Oracle Database Management".
I sent an email to [email protected] containing the information that I found necessary to obtain certification.
But if I have to do the process in the pearson vue site, should I put the course name in Portuguese or in English ?
Only the email I sent is not enough ?
Thanks for the help, and sorry for my english !

  • What direction to choose after getting ocp

    Hello, guys
I am thinking about next step in my education. What course to choose among Oracle products?
I have OCP 11g already and had course in performance tuning.
Can someone give me advice what Oracle product to learn next? I must say that our organization's budget is limited, so I can choose any of 1 week Oracle courses.
I consider Oracle RAC (however, its not used widely in our country), WebLogic, Application server or SOA Suite.
The main criterias are a product's popularity and it should have perspective for the next several years
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

You are lucky that your organization is paying for courses !
If you want to continue being a database administrator, RAC would be the direction (the 11gR2 Accelerated Grid and RAC course is the most expensive course I've seen).  However, if you are also supporting other products -- e.g. WebLogic is popular -- you'd do a course in that product.  If you perceive being an EBusiness Suite administrator, you'd consider a course in EBusiness Suite or Fusion Applications administration.

Thanks. I will study RAC 11g next week.

  • Guys i did my OCA Certification. KIndly suggest me as what i should do now for a good job in india beside completing OCP certification?

I want to work and i need to know what are the scopes & what i should do to get a good job which has further growth and what courses can i do beside OCP certification. I am confused so kindly help me. Also, i completed my OCA 6 months before does it effect in getting jobs?

As Phillippe indicates -- which OCA you mean makes a big difference.  My guess is you are referring to the DBA OCP, but I could be wrong.  I have written a number of articles targeted to people looking to start their Oracle career.  Links to four of them are below:

I am running Windows 7 and have tried to install iCloud.  No matter what instructions I follow, I still get the error message "This Apple ID is valed but is not an iCloud account."  How can I resolved this?

I've tried both. First, I tried on my pc, where iTunes had installed iCloud when it last updated. I have iTunes installed on this computer (and on my iPad and iPhone), but that wasn't the issue.
So I went online, thinking I needed a separate iCloud Apple ID, but it prompted me for my current Apple ID and gave me the message about my ID being "valid" but not an iCloud account," which, lol, was what it had asked me to do in order to create one. I checked, and at least one other user is having the same issue. I'll attempt to copy/paste the Support request url: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4430653?tstart=0
Thank you for any help you can give.

  • How to get Oracle 11g OCA, OCM, OCP certification?

    Hi,
This is my first post! Please pardon my ignorance. I want to get Oracle 11g OCA, OCM, OCP certifications done. How do I go about it? How much does it cost to get these certifications? Could you please suggest a website/url where I can get more information about it.
    Thank you,
    Tracy

The Oracle Certification Program site should answer your questions.
Assuming you are trying to get certified on the DBA track (there are many different certification tracks, I'm assuming when you say 11g that you mean to indicate that you're interested in the DBA track), you can see the progression of the exams and the options you have on this page.

If your training isn't an authorized course from an authorized provider it won't help.
Yours was possilby an WDP course.
The problem is there can be some bad people out there.
The company you mention may or may not be okay .... and the WDP program can sometimes be difficult to see:

  • Help on OCP certification

    Dear Friends,
I need some suggestion on writing 10g OCP Certification...
I had written 10g OCA recently i.e Administration 1 on 29th NOV... I guess I would get OCA certificate from oracle...
Now I would like to pursue OCP exam..
I had been to the oracle link which gives list of courses to be taken online or instructor led to get OCP..
I guess we need to take only one course from the list and would be eligible for OCP exam...?
    Any help is greatly appreciated..

    Just want to add information
It is true to be an OCP we have to attend an Oracle Course in Oracle Universities or Oracle Approved Education Centres (OAEC). But, you don't have to follow the Oracle 10g Database Administration Workshop II for that since that course is consider expensive but useful.
If you have budget concern, the cheapest one, I believe is Oracle 10g SQL Tuning Workshop, because it's only 3 days course which is much cheaper than Admin Workshop II (5 days).
I passed my OCP for Oracle 10g DBA without attended any Admin Workshop class.
cheers. One doesn't need to attend the OCP modules to get OCP. There is no such provision like this or restriction like this. I wouldn't recommend that person who is still prepairing for OCP to attend advanced courses like SQL Tuning just because its a 3 day course. About the course , though its a 3 days course only but its a highly packed course with LOT of info which probably is too much for that candidate who is still struggling to understand what Oracle is and how it works? Don't compare cost of these two courses. They are for different audience and cost being lesser or smaller will be a secondary issue here. If the person won't understand a bit when there will be talks about Join techniques , explain plans, trace files, tkprof, it doesn't matter what was the cost,it will be a wastage of time and resource completely.
If really money is the only deciding factor than one can simply attend SQL course only.
    Cheers

  • OCP Certification

    Hi
I am Kishore, having 10+ years of experience in IT and currently working as Project Lead in a software company. I am very much passionate about oracle and i want to take OCP and to be a Database Administrator. Is it wise choice to do OCP at this level in my career?

    hi
Thnx. these may be and may not be are haunting me for a while. At time we are doing the job of a DBA for tuning the database and queries for our internal purpose and that' what forced me to think about the certification. What you said is true when you compare the hands on experience i have in the DAB area. From what you say I suspect you would not get want you want out of DBA OCP study.
The DBA OCP has (relatively) little to do with tuning:
The Oracle Database 11g Performance Tuning Certified Expert http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=41&p_exam_id=1Z0_054 has much more to do with database tuning (and as far as I am aware not so much to do with SQL statement tuning). A DBA OCP (or knowledge to about that level) would be a suggest pre-requisite before attending that course.
The following training course (which does not have an associated certification exam) may be of interest: http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getCourseDesc?dc=D52163GC20 ( In making this statement you woudl think I am on commission from Larry to day this .... actually I am not and this is a free one by me for Larry {noformat};){noformat{;)}.
To some extent, unless the database is really badly out of tune or stumped for resource or contention, in terms of tuning with a few basic steps the thing should really pretty well take care of itself.
As I think you are aware Tuning the application is where the greatest gains will typically be made.
If after all that you stiull fancy going for the DBA OCP look round to see if there is a workforce development programme course nearby that suits (relatively cheap and cheerful, quality may be very variable .. possibly sometimes very poor).
