What criteria are used by the site maintenence task: Clear Install Flag?
I want to understand what exact criteria, i.e. what fields in the database, are used by the "Clear Install Flag" Maintenance task.
Is it just LastDDR that needs to be either NULL or older than the configured "rediscovery period"?
Or are other fields also considered and if so which and what are the criteria.
OK, sorry, my response is not meant to be rude, but to pull additional details out of you since the blog post and TechNet article linked do fully address the question(s) as the heartbeat time being the only criteria used and IsClient being reset
to 0. Also note that you did explicitly challenge the veracity of the blog post and so that called for some clarification on the source and an understanding of why you were questioning it.
Having said that, it's certainly possible that other fields are reset during the task also, but why does this matter for your scenario? On that note, what is your scenario?
The "why", motivation, and context of the question or request for information is almost always important because it allows us to address your scenario and ensure that you have all of the information needed to properly address that scenario. Put
another way, why does it matter if some other fields are blanked out? Knowing this may help us point you in a better direction or even influence the product group if it's something that's never really been considered before.

Is there a way to visually see what clips are used in the timeline?
In FCP, is there a way to see in the browser all the clips that are being used in the timeline?
What I am looking for is a column that has a check mark in it if the clip is being used in the timeline.
In a big project, it would be good to visually see what clips have yet to be used.
Just wondering.
IanThis probably isn't exactly what you're looking for, but you can turn on show duplicate frames in your timeline.
There is an option in the sequence>timeline settings that when turned on will put a red line under any footage that is duplicated in your sequence.
However there must be a reel number assigned to the clip and the timecode must be unique in order for it to work properly.
Another work around might be to color code each clip as you use it in your browser. -
What materials are used in the making of the iPhone 4?
Hopefully this is in the right section.
For a school project I am supposed to create an inquiry of 'If I should own a cell phone'. In order to answer this question properly, I need to know the materials used in creating the iPhone 4, where they were created/mined, and so on. If anyone could inform me or give me a website to which I may find this information, I would be truly greatful.Hello,
Can you specify which cables you will be using?
The cables are normally not intended for very high voltages, so please give a description of the application as well.

HT4208 What criteria is used by Apple to determine the "Top Apps"?
What criteria is used by Apple to determine the "Top Apps" in the App Store?
Apple does not publicly state how any of those rankings are determined, probably to try to keep app developers from gaming the system and artificially inflating their rankings.

What exact metals are used in the iPod 5 and what for?
what exact metals are used in the iPod 5 and what for?
Hey Connor and Josh, The same kind of metals that are found in pretty much all electrics. Aluminum, Gold, Copper, Solder, (I would guess lead free). You will also find plastics and resins, glass and Li-ion, carbon, and silicon. Why do you ask? If your thinking of stripping one down for the metals, it's not worth it, there so little in there it will cost you more to separate the metals than there value by weight. Cheers.

When using 'sponge' effect on a fill, how do I get rid of the white 'pixellations' (if that is what they are called around the edges of the fill?
I tried to give you this solution before, but maybe you missed it. This simple procedure will mask out all the various sponge edge-artifacts. Here it is in simple steps:
1. Make the path shape you want to apply the sponge effect to.
2. Highlight that path, and select Object > Path > Offset path ... choose +2 points (or whatever works for your drawing scale, to ultimately eliminate the outside line and the artifacts) -- this will make a slightly larger shape, based on the original shape.
3. Cut the outside path (command or alt-X), select the inside path, and paste the outer path BEHIND the inner path (command or alt-B).
4. Apply the sponge effect to the OUTER path.
5. Highlight BOTH paths, and create a MASK (command or alt-7).
Now you have your original shape, with sponge applied, and the outer 2 points (or whatever your Offset Path was set to), are masked out, masking out the outside line and the sponge artifacts.
This works with any Document Raster Effect Settings dpi. -
Can the iPhone have settings profiles? I want the settings of what apps are using the "call home" automatically set based on my location or the time of day. Is this possible? Of course the GPS location feature will need to be on in order for this to work. But the idea here would be to optimize battery life by disabling the 'call home' requests of apps. The settings profile should also support downloads as I would like to download and allow it when I am on WiFi but not so much when I am using my cellular data.
No, this is not possible as the sandboxed nature of iOS would not allow any app to modify another app like that. Such a feature would have to be enabled by Apple as a part of iOS itself. You can submit feedback to Apple about the idea if you wish to.

How can I see how often and where an image is used in the site?
Just realized the post appeared twice as at first sending I
got an error page (contains no data...).
So, please do all answer to the other post, so that all
replies get collected at one post only.
Hello,
please excuse my maybe dumb question but converting from
GoLive I am still trying to find several practical effective
workflow features in DW ...
1. where in the sitewindow/assets or files panel can I see an
indication at each image if and how often it is used in a site?
2. and where can I see/check on which pages it is used?
Thanks in advance for guiding me there ...
bye,
Beate> How do DW users know how often and where an image is
used on the site
> then?
I'm not sure what the benefit is of knowing how often an
image is used, but
a search for the image by filename would do the trick.
And just so you'll know, this is a peer forum, not an
official communication
vehicle to Adobe. We are all just users here, not Adobe
employees.

How do I limit what movies are displayed at the top on the main screen
Is there any way to limit what movies are displayed at the top on the main screen when menu Computers are selected?
Currently it shows ALL of the content in the Movies folder in iTunes, but I would like to not show my 1 million 5-second videoclips and only the "real" movies.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Bjoern DirchsenI think you are right. It's the latest videos added that are displayed first. Makes sense.
I'm using a PC so it's a bit hard to work with iPhoto . However, your comment did give me a hint to how to solve the problem.
I moved all my video-clips out of my Movies folder and into my Pictures folder.
Then I changed Photo Sharing in Itunes to include Videos
And voila! The main screen now shows only my "real" movies. Sorted by latest added - but I guess that's the best we can do.
Thanks for a super-fast answer. -
The table of contents is empty because none of the paragraph styles selected in the Document Inspector are used in the document.
The above is what I get when I open a word document. Is there a way to solve this?Hmmm. Apply the styles?

FAQ: What font is used by the London Underground (London Transport)
This summer, while on vacation in the UK, I spent a few hours in the London Transport Museum. Surprisingly enough, in their gift shop, two items for sale attracted my attention. One was a book and the other, a collection of fonts!
Every so often, the question comes up on this forum and others as to exactly what font is used in the London Underground. The book in question,
Johnston's Underground Type by Justin Howes definitively answers that question and provides quite a bit of background on the subject.
To summarize, the basis of the font used today is
Johnston Sans, dating back to 1916. Johnston Sans also had an upper case-only bold face. These two faces were used with various modifications until 1988 when the font was modernized with the release of
New Johnston, a family of nine typefaces based upon Johnston Sans. The family includes light, light italic, medium, medium italic, medium condensed, bold, bold italic, bold condensed, and stencil weights / styles. New Johnston Medium most closely resembles the original Johnston Sans face in terms of weight and style.
Neither the original Johnston Sans nor the current New Johnston are licensed by London Transport for any external use.
However, at the London Transport Museum (and I believe on-line from the P22 Type Foundry), you can purchase a license and media for P22's rendition of Johnston Sans including three faces - P22 Underground, P22 Underground Bold (uppercase only), and P22 Underground Extras (symbols associated with London Transport over the years). Included on the CDROM are both Type 1 and TrueType versions of the typefaces in both Windows and Macintosh formats. The designs were officially licensed from London Transport. The EULA (End User License Agreement) carries some
very strict restrictions with regards to embedding in PDF or any other file type as well as commercial use of any printed output formatted with these typefaces.
A fairly close (and less restrictively-licensed alternative) to the P22 package or for Johnston Sans and New Johnston (neither of which are available for license) is ITC Johnston, available in Type 1 and TrueType versions in both Windows and Macintosh formats. Fifteen individual typefaces are available including old style figures and small caps, italic styles, as well as light, medium, and bold weights. Alas, they are not (yet) available in OpenType format.
In any case, further information and background is available in
Johnston's Underground Type by Justin Howes.

I was. I have to say as much as there is a lot of negativity towards Larry Jordan, I really respect him for not shying away from adversity and talking about the issues quite Frankly. I mean, his talk was laced with quite a lot of rhetoric ("it's not the end of the world", etc etc), but he didn't decline to answer any questions (including my own: "what were they thinking").

Having spent the past three days on this forum, I think that list only covers about half of the gripes people have and the problems people are facing!
These are just the things I remember off the top of my head. Sadly I didn't make any notes, in all honesty because I was expecting the whole thing to be a whitewash. Remind me of anything I've left out and I'll try to cover it.
I'll try to transcribe the recording today as it was the only thing that's come close to an official word on the situation from Apple, though I have to say the recording is not particularly good :/ -

What accessories were used in the iphone video recorded in January 2014
I am trying to learn what "extras" were used in the making of the Apple video of 24 January 2014. Credits indicate extra accessories were used. I would like to learn what they were.
The Apple posted 30th Anniversary video is less than 30 days old! So, "in the past" leads me to believe you are out of touch with reality!
In the Apple posted video discussion of how the video was made, there are clips of the iphones used with their accessories. I was hoping others here would be able to recognize the accessories and share their wisdom.
PLEASE forgive me if I have over stepped the boundaries you are imposing on this group. I am seeking help not reprimands!
