What current hp printers use 350 and 351 ink cartridges ?

I have a Photosmart C 4480 all-in-one printer  (2 years old) and am using Windows XP (home version).     My printer has developed problems which do not seem solvable.
Problem is I have a large stock of ink cartridges 350 and 351 for this printer.
Would prefer to find new HP printer which uses 350 and 351 cartridges.    Are there any ?
Have tried checking HP website but there is no info under 'product spec' what type of cartridges are used.
There is also added problem in that, looking at e-Bay or Amazon, there is not much info provided about type of cartridge used on any printer for sale.
In addition I have a horrible feeling that HP may use different model numbers for different countries.     I'm in France and cannot find any French HP printers which appear to use 350 and 351 cartridges.
Any help to guide me through this muddle would be very much appreciated.
Regards tifossie

Hi there, it may be difficult to source a new HP inkjet printer that will take those cartridges as they were released in 2007. Here is a list of models that should accept those cartridge selectability numbers.
HP Deskjet D4260 Printer (CB641A)
HP Deskjet D4360 Printer (CB700A)
HP Officejet J5780 All-in-One Printer (Q8232A)
HP Officejet J6480 All-in-One Printer (CB029A)
HP Photosmart C4280 All-in-One Printer (CC210A)
HP Photosmart C4385 All-in-One Printer (CC281A)
HP Photosmart C4480 All-in-One Printer (Q8388A)
HP Photosmart C4580 All-in-One Printer (Q8401A)
HP Photosmart C5280 All-in-One Printer (Q8330A)
HP Photosmart C5580 All-in-One Printer (Q8341A)
HP Photosmart D5360 Printer (Q8361A)
You're best chance may be finding one on eBay but satisfy yourself that it is a  new nuit and not a previously used one from antoher part of the world as it may not accept your 350/351 supplies as they are the EMEA regionalised version of these supplies.
Best of luck.

  • Can I print on a Canon MP480 using only a black ink cartridge?

Hi BKJen, Both ink cartridges are required to be installed in the printer in order to print, even if one of the ink cartridges are low or out of ink. If you are receiving a low/out of ink warning and need to continue printing, you can disable the ink level detection function of the printer by pressing and holding down the Stop/Reset or Resume/Cancel button on the printer for at least 5 seconds, then releasing it.  Once the low/out of ink cartridge is replaced with a Canon genuine ink cartridge, the ink level detection function of the printer will be re-enabled. You can also set the printer to print using only the black ink cartridge from within the printer driver on your computer. If you would like instruction for doing this, please reply with what operating system is on your computer (version of Windows or Mac OS X), and we'll be happy to assist you.

Hello @downeyke , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you are looking into black ink options.  I would love to try and help you, but I do need a little information first. I am linking an HP Support document below that will show you how to find which version of the Mac operating system you are using.  With this information we can provide you with accurate information.

  • Problems printing to HP printers using Bonjour and XP

    Good afternoon all
I am unable to print from my ThinkPad X61 PC laptop running XP (Service Pack 3) to either of my HP printers (Laserjet 6MP and PhotoSmart C3180) connected to my Airport Extreme via a USB hub. They work fine from my MacBook running Snow Leopard, or when directly connected to my PC.
I am able to install both printers using Bonjour Printer Wizard (and recognize them through Airport Utility). I then print a document, it spools to the print queue, then generates an error saying the document failed to print. I have tried it without the hub with the same result.
I have reinstalled Bonjour and the printer drivers and followed the Printer Troubleshooting Guide procedure to no avail. I have also tried the TCP/IP port creation which did not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Yours
    Sam

    Hi Pahu,
Thanks for you reply. Here's some additional information because I'm not quite sure how to resolve the network addressing as you described. The router is set up as a DHCP server, using the standard 192.168.1.1 IP address, and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 The starting IP address is 192.168.1.100, and I have it set to allow up to 50 connections. (No particular reason, I think that may have been the default.) The printer is set up to check a variety of connection protocols, starting with DHCP. If that fails, it moves to BOOTP, etc. When I print the network configuraton page from the printer, it tells me the IP address is 169.254.18.32, subnet mask 255.255.0.0, default gateway 169.254.18.32, and the IP is configured by AUTOIP.
In the past, when it has been working properly, the printer shows an IP address of 192.168.1.10X, usually .100 or .101, but it depends on which device I've powered up first. This is what I would expect, given that the printer should be communicating with the router and be assigned an IP address by DHCP. What I can't figure out is why the printer reverts to its internal default IP address 169.254.18.32, and why this is inaccessible even if I try to designate the printer as an IP printer and type in the printer's IP address.
Do I need to set the printer to refresh its DHCP lease more often to ensure it doesn't get cut off by the router? How do I make sure the printer stays on the same subnet as the computers if they're all on the same router? Should I assign the printer a static IP address like 192.168.1.100, then set the DHCP range to start at 192.168.1.101? Sorry to ask so many questions, I'm not a network expert and I didn't think this printer would be such a pain to configure.
    Cheers,
    R

  • What is different between using Scriptlet and VBA

Did any know what is different between using "Insert test Scriptlet" and VBA (on Cusom Page Programmability node)?

It?s really the environment used. Scriptlets are Microsoft VB Script which is a loose scripting environment with no variable declarations, no intellisence, microhelp, etc. VBA is actually the full VB6 for applications language environment that provides a very helpful integrated development environment, variable declorations, library references, intellisence and more. VB Script generally uses less system resources, but with powerful hardware today we find that VBA meets all our needs. VBA Also easily allows the use of global modules and class files.

  • Which Officejet All-In-One's take 350/350XL/351/351XL cartridges?

    Hi!
I am in UK & want to buy a new HP Officejet all-in-one printer/scanner/copier (with or without fax facility).
I already have a fair stock of HP 350/350XL & tri-colour 351XL ink cartridges & bearing in mind how much they cost, I think it would make economic & environmental sense to find a new HP all-in-one that will take these cartridges.  I know they fit the J5780 & J5785 but cannot find anywhere in UK currently stocking these models.
Would be EXTREMELY grateful if anyone out there could please advise me on which current all-in-one HP models take these cartridges and/or where in UK I can find the J5780 or J5785 for sale.
    Thanks in anticipation!

Mine does this too - regardless of whether the cartridges are actually present.  It seems to do with the mechanics which move the tray underneath the cartridge home position.  Any solutions?

  • Can I use Replacement Printer ink cartridges for HP officejet Pro 8610

I recently purchased an HP OfficeJet Pro 8610. I previously had an 8600. They both use the same ink cartridges. I had just installed some remanufactured 950 XL and 951 XL cartridges in the old printer and tried to use them in the new printer. Of course I got an error message that cartridges weren't HP but the printer would still work. I would like to know if I can use other remanufactured ink cartridges with the new printer or if there is some way for the printer to allow me to use other ink cartridges as the HP cartridges are way over priced for the consumers. I hope there is a person out there that is conservative like me and tries to find the best bargains on everything. Your solutions would be appreciated. I waited on HP Support Assistant for 10 minutes with a dialogue I would be connected to a technician in less than a minute. They must have been on break or some other excuse, so I thought I would try this instead. Blessings. John Richardson

    Hey @rockhoundjohn
Here's the thing, yes, you can refill your cartridges or use remanufactured cartridges, but you may run into problems.
QualityLogic, one of the world's foremost quality assurance organizations, tested the performance of HP inkjet print cartridges vs. remanufactured (refilled) brands. The results: original HP inkjet print cartridges far surpassed ink refills in both print quality and reliability.
Nearly one out of every six refilled ink cartridges tested was dead on arrival or failed prematurely
70% of refilled cartridges had some form of reliability problem
Count on HP original ink cartridges for consistent, worry-free printing. You may think you're saving money on remanufactured or refilled ink cartridges, but in the long run, the cost of wasted time, ink, and paper can more than make up the difference.  - Source
Most people think, 'well of course that is what HP or an HP representative would say', but I have done some research and found that many others have too. Here is a perfect example of somebody who does not work for HP in any way and basically is a customer advocate (in my opinion) ; Should you refill your printer’s ink cartridges? HP says no (of course) By Matthew Murray
I found the above article interesting and genuine.
My personal recommendation is to buy the HP XL cartridges as they are more cost efficient, and be mindful in the printer you choose when buying an inkjet. The 8610 was a good choice. The expected page yield of the HP 950XL High Yield Black Original Ink Cartridge is 2300 pages. The regular size cartridge page yield is 1000, still good but the XL is by far a better value. Some of the Photosmart printers or Deskjets are great for what they are intended for, but do not have as good of a cost per page.
HP's recommendation; Keep in mind that page yield is just one component of cost, and that factors such as quality, reliability, productivity, and efficiency affect cost as well. Products that work reliably will ultimately save you time and money. When you choose an inkjet printer, make sure you consider your individual printing needs.
    - Source
To summarize, again, yes you can refill the cartridges. The printer is not programmed to reject them. Sometimes the cartridges will not work and of course because they are non HP, HP would not be able to do anything to help. HP cartridges have a 2 year manufacture warranty; Limited Warranty for HP Ink Cartridges and Customer-Replaceable Printheads for HP Inkjet Supplies, this may give you comfort knowing HP stand behind their product.

  • How can I print using only the black ink cartridge?

I have a officejet 4620 that I need to know how to set up to have the option of using the black ink cartridge only. I rarely ever use color ink and I dont want $30 worth of color ink to dwindle away while printing pages that do not need any sort of quality printing. How can I change this setting? I have a Mac and there are hardly any options when trying to print anything.
    Thanks!

  • Have just tried to replace TESCO colour and black and white ink cartridges for a model 2540.

Each time I get the same error message 'incompatable older generation  ink cartridge'.  Contacted TESCO help desk and they sent a pair of cartridges direct to me.......the latest ones they have in stock............................same error message............does this mean that in future NO Tesco ink cartridge will ever be able to be used on a 2540 printer, or is this a way of getting me to buy HP cartridges at twice the cost?

  • My iPhone 5 appears to be using too much memory, particularly 7.9GB out of the 32GB labeled "OTHER". Even my iPad Air has only 3.9GB labeled "OTHER". How do I identify what "OTHER" is actually used for and how do I mitigate this?

According to iTunes I am using approximately 20.35GB of the available 27.32GM of memory, leaving about 7GB free. Of the used memory, about 7.9GB is labeled "OTHER". Making the same measurement on my iPad Air, only 3.9GB is labeled "OTHER". Why am I loosing so much memory capacity and what do I do to mitigate this problem?
This is having a significant effect on using my iPhone for recording Video interviews which in some cases constitute two to three hours of video. I need to be able togged the "OTHER" memory space so I can do more than one video recording during a session. Lowering the "OTHER" category to 3.9GB, the same as the iPad Air, would make it possible to record two or in some cases three videos before having to offload them to the MacBook Pro for editing in the evening.

  • Why have apple made such a great item in the ipad2, and then just ruined it by air print, I have a Kodak wireless, and I am not paying stupid ink prices, the cost of air printers is huge, and the ink worse, why have they ruined a good item.

AirPrint,,,, WHy?      Why have apple robbed us yet again, AirPrint, is useless, or buy another printer that apple have gained massive revenue from, the iPads are great but very high priced, and then you have to buy another high priced printer with high priced inks, I use a wifi Kodak, why should I buy another.
You have to mess about with other apps and then have your other computer on, what's all that about Apple. Why have they ruined a really good thing.
I cannot get my printer to work, and might just sell this stupid gadget, I am so annoyed at apple playing god with things, if you want it to work you have to jailbreak it, and the up pos Apple again, if you break it we will not repair it, that tells you exactly that they are playing god, wake up apple and smell the coffee.

I have a Kodak wifi printer and print using the app Print Magic.  I do not need to have any of my home computers on to do this as they have nothing to do with wifi printing from my iOS devices (if you do not have a wifi printer and are sharing the printer off another computer, then of course, that computer needs to be on and connected to your wifi network).
You can post with all the hyperbole you want, but none of us have any inside information as to why Apple's devices and iOS do certain things a certain way, or why they do not do things in the particular specific way you wish them to.  Airprint does not work with Kodak printers at this time.  There are numerous apps that will allow you to print to just about any wifi printer.

  • Does anyone know what is the difference between standard and value print cartridges?

I was wandering does anyone know what the difference is between the 2 I am not sure which one to get.

I do not know what printer and cartridges you are looking at, but there are typically "value" or XL cartridges that have approximately three times the ink at about twice the cost.
You can see the page yield for various printers here.
