I have a list of name value pairs (the size of the list is ~500). I get the name from the request parameter, and depending on the value for that, I have to display images on my webpage.
How should I go about this? Should I use a Hashtable to store the values or should I use an array or should I got for XML and some pattern matching or should I write to a text file and do some pattern matching?

Did you mean huge (several million) or is 500 more like the number? For "huge" you use a database. For 500, if you want to access the value when you are given the name, you use a Map. Probably a HashMap would be best.

In Oracle database I have two columns to have minimum & maximum values like "min_value number" and "max_value number".
Using Java (Integer & Double) i need to save the min/max values of Integer and Double. For integer values its working fine but for double max value its giving the below error.
As per the below post its recommends to use binary_double but I cannot change the datatype [Number]. Can anyone please let me know what's the maximum value I can use for double using Java.

What can I use instead of color variations in Elements 12?

I had a copy of Elements 6 for many years. The feature I used most often was color variations. Unfortunately, I was unable to install my copy on my new computer, and I figured it was time to upgrade to the latest version anyway. Image my surprise when I discovered there was no feature called Color Variations in this version. I'm floored. Most of what I do in Elements doesn't have to do with photography; I am scanning book covers and must have the colors display accurately. I have not yet figured out what to use instead. All help appreciated.

I would suggest in your table you split the RESPONSE column into 3 different column and store the fields STATUS_CODE, REASON_PHARSE and HTTP_VERSION accordingly.

What type of collection can I use to store a word and a string as it's valu

I am writing a grammar checking application. What kind of collection can I use to store the word and the type of word as it's value.
e.g.(book = noun) (clean = adjetive) (of = predicate) (took = verb)
or should I use a collection as they type and add the words in each different collection?

class "Contradiction" contains two variables, the String and what Type was assumed
Algorithm:
Parse out next word
Find all possible meanings/types of word
Assume first meaning is true, continue (think [push])
If clause, call clauseParse all over again (think [push])
Return parsed structure when done, (think [pop])
If Contradiction rises to top of sentence, there is a grammer problem. Now switch into grammer correction mode.
If a word can be interpreted two different ways, don't worry about it as long as it's right either way.
To test for similar-sounding words, use something like SoundX

You have two options for storing images in a relational database:
A. Don't put it in a database. Store it as a file, and store the pointer int he DB (as mentioned above).
B. Store it as a blob datatype. See here for more info.

it is possible to store all values from an updateable report to something like an cache BEFORE sent it to DB ?
Background:
i have an modified updateable report ,look the jpg

updateable report have ever 29 rows. as example i make time entrys for an employee. very often the next employee have the same timeentrys. now iam thinking about to make the entrys for the first employee, then click a button to store the values from ALL cells into somting like a javascript cache or jquery.data() . when i pull another employee from lov i have a fresh empty report( with 29 rows) and now i want to call the data back from cache to the cells (with another button). the cache shouldnt be destroyed when refresh the page,cause there is a page refresh when pull another employee from lov.
is it possible to store all cell values(empty or not) from report all in one?
what is the best and simplest way ?
good would be an example for the code or method i should use.
or is somthing inside apex i could use for that. i looked in apex.api but didnt found something.

and in end there are 3 other procedures, all for table MAZEIT, the collection and and the report.
in princip its a good idea,to create another collection, but difficult to bind it to the report TOO,cause my "cell-fill- functionality" is to complicated.
my idea is another: to look with javascript/jquery whatever on clientside the cell-values. and only the editable cells. not the hidden cells.there would be ca. 180 editable cells. i want store the values from this cells all in one in a cache (clientside! ).
then select next employee (collection will be created with view ect.) and give me this 29 rows. in this moment i have cells with ID f02_0001 as example and can use the cache values with that. the ID's ever the same,cause i have ever 29 rows.

How do I send a color from Flex to MySQL?

Now just to be certain, I don't want to store every value from the checkbox array in a separate row,
I want them to be all on one row of one column and can be broken down into their individual components upon request.
The data must be stored in a manner that makes it possible to count and analyze.These two statements to me appear to be slightly at odds.
To me it would be simpler if each checkbox had a seperate column - or at least each group of checkboxes as long as you are going to analyze them together.
It depends upon what sort of questions will be asked of it.
eg "How many people ticked checkbox #4"
If you need to retrieve every single row, and do a calculation on the value to find the answer out, then it is not going to be efficient.

When you generate SSMA Assessment Report, there are several files created and saved into Report folder under your SSMA project folder. It includes
source-metabase.mb, project-container.mappings, preferences.prefs, and so on.
. MD files are usually saved in plain text format including inline text symbols, defining how a text is formatted such as the indentations, its table formatting, fonts, and headers.
SSMA provides a project setting that allow you to customize how to set customized database migration. For example, to customize data migration SQL statement, you can modify project setting by navigating to Tools and choosing Project Settings,
then looking for the setting for
Extended Data Migration Options and change the value to
Show. You can select use custom select and modify the SQL statement.

What Datatype Should I Use to Change the "lockoutTime" attribute using JNDI

I am able to use JNDI to modify an object's String valued attributes in ADAM.
However, now I want to modify lockoutTime which has a datatype of LargeInteger/interval
According to the documentation for AD, I can set the lockoutTime as:
new BasicAttribute("lockoutTime", Integer.toString(0)));But with ADAM this throws the exception:
[LDAP: error code 53 - 00000057: LdapErr: DSID-0C090A4C, comment: Error in attribute conversion operation, data 0, vece_What datatype do you suggest I use, to set lockoutTime to 0 using java/JNDI?

As both are equivalent to "0" it is impossible to believe that that solved your problem.

How to determine what's using data store temp space?

How can one determine what's using data store temp space? We are interested to know what structures are occupying space in temp space and if possible what pid/process connected to TimesTen created them.
Also, is there a procedure that will work if temp space is full?
Recently one of our data stores ran of space. We we're unable to run commands like "monitor", "select * from monitor", "select count(*) from my_application_table", etc. These commands failed because they required temp space to run and temp space was full. We killed the application processes, this in turned freed up temp space, then we were able to run these queries.
Ideally, we'd like to have a procedure to figure out what's using temp space when temp space is full.
The other thing we could do is periodically monitor temp space prior to it filling to determine what's using temp space.

That was my original thought, but once you click the slider track or thumb, and then enter a value in the text control, the clickTarget on the change event envoked by the change to the bound data (after entering a value in the text control) will be whatever slider element had last been clicked. If you've never clicked the slider, clickTarget=null. But once you've clicked the slider the clickTarget always has a value of "thumb" or "track", regardless of what triggered the change event.
