I know it will be out in october but what date? I sold my Ipod Touch 4 the other day and I would like to know how long I have to wait.

    No, it does not come with Remote and Mic, but it will come with the new design. (dosen't say on tech specs)

    Hey Toniandjustin, There has been no official talk of an iPod 6, Nada, zip, nothing! All other iPod touches were released in fall and that came and went. If you're buying new, this Christmas, I wouldn't think about the iPod 5, it's to dated; the hardware is about at it's end. I would look at a new iPad Mini. The hardware is ready for iOS 8+, and it's not a phone, unless you want a phone. But the iPad mini is about the size of the iPod, something to think about. Hope this helps. Cheers.

    Well, like Patrick Copeland said, if it (website) said it came out the 12th, then it must have. One thing you might want to think about is this: shipping takes time. What if it's available the 12th, but not in most stores yet?

    In the northern hemisphere, fall begins in late September and ends in late December. Apple announced iOS5 will be released this fall, which means anytime between late September and late December.

    Apple has not announced any new iPod models, and until they do none of us here, who are all fellow users, will have any idea. In the past, any new models of the iPod touch were announced in the fall, but whether Apple will continue this pattern or indeed if they have plans for any future new iPod touch models at all is unknown.     Chances are the 2g itouch will not be included in the update. Also no one yet knows if it will be fixed in the next firmware but apple has said they know of this bug.
