Help!! What's going wrong here. I used to have iTunes installed on this computer but lost it when it crashed. I've tried re-installing it numerous times but I keep getting the same error message. "Error writing to file: C:\ProgramFiles\iTunes.Resources\es.lproj\iPadLicense.rtf. Verify that you have access to that directory." I know I have access to that directory because on a different computer I can sync my iPad and iPhone. What am I doing wrong? What do I need to go in and authorize or turn on? Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you.

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

To save space on my internal Hard Drive , I am trying to find a way so , iTunes can be installed on my computer's internal drive but the music files to be in an external drive. When I want to listen to music , to be able to select where the iTunes will read music files from ( Inetrnal or external drive ). Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

IChat keeps showing me error message stating that host refused server

Everytime I attempt to log in(from any account on my computer or any screen name) I receive a pop-up error message saying "Host refused server. Try again later." This has been happening for two weeks now and I called apple support and AOL support and both said they could not help me. The finny thing is, I can sign on to my screen name on AIM from another location and connect to iChat as long as my AOL is signed on even though it's a different screen name .. I'm so confused!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!

I am reading that iChat will not log into the AIM servers with one account name from a mac computer in one location But that it will if you use the AIM application on another computer that is somewhere else - even if the AIM application is using another log in name.
Do you mean that the AIM application using one login name can Chat to your Mac ?
OR do you mean you have the AOL package and have enabled the IM function and can log in with that name ?
I feel that these options do not fully explain what you are trying to say.
This may be that you have not enabled iChat for Multiple logins of the same login account name.
Open iChat.
Go to Preferences (in the iChat menu)
Go to Accounts
Select the account in question in the left hand column.
Select the Account Info tab if it is not the current one
Add a tick to the Multiple Login box
If this does not work then try deleting com.apple.ichat.AIM.plist This is found in /Users/(your account)/Library/Preferences
Restart iChat afterwards. In some circumstances this will send you through the Start up Screens again.

I had my iPod set up and everything then when I hooked or up to my computer iTunes told me that my iPod could not be read and that I needed to restore it, so I did that and after when i plugged it into iTunes and selected the songs that I wanted to put on my iPod and clicked sync it started to sync but right when it gets to the end it goes blank and says choose your songs/playlists once again and I have to start all over. What exactly is Adobe? I have it installed on my computer and I am totally in the dark as to it's uses.

Not without more from you, I'm afraid. Adobe is not one piece of software, it is a software company who make perhaps hundreds of different things. So, what is the EXACT name of the thing you are asking about? And, why did you install it? If you don't know the name tell us what you can.

Keep getting an error message stating cartridge error, remove cartridge and replace it.

I have an HP officejet 5610 all in one printer. I keep receiving an error message stating to take cartridge out put back in. I have done this a dozen times literally with no success. I have also followed many trouble shooting methods all of which have failed. I have no paper jam, nothing inside the printer blocking the cartridge from moving. I can do test print without any problem except when I go to print a document then this error shows up. Can't figure it out. The ink cartridges are new as well. Anyone have any ideas?

EMac Freezes while running Diskwarrior! What Did I Do Wrong?

I just purchased Diskwarrior upon the suggestion of several people here, and decided to try it out. I booted up from the DiskWarrior CD, and followed instructions. It said HD was ready to rebuild and I clicked on that. It went for awhile and then just froze. I had to turn the power off to get out of the program and back to my my startup disk.
What did I do wrong? Is there more to installing it than just booting up from the CD? I need some great advice! Thanks.

You're certain DW really froze? It takes typically about 45 minutes to process a half-full 40 GB HD on my 700 MHz eMac, and at some parts of the run it does appear as if the progress bar isn't moving, but it does come back to update the screen eventually.
The only times I can recall reports of Disk Warrior failing all ended up being traced to hardware failure of one kind or another (bad RAM in particular). What version of Disk Warrios do you have? The version number will be printed on the DW CD. Since your profile shows OS X 10.3.9, through, any DW recently purchased from Alsoft should work with your Mac. Have you checked the disc for smudges or scratches?
Dig out your Apple Hardware Test (AHT) disc and see if your Mac will boot from that and if so what it says about the optical drive. You may need to run a CD lens cleaner through the drive one or two passes. Also have AHT check the RAM; you can also use Memtest.
The other thing that comes to mind is to try DW with all peripherals other than keyboard and mouse disconnected.

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

I downloaded Blue Fire Reader and it requested an adobe id. I clicked on the link that was in the error message stated http//adeactivateadobe.com. Found out that if the date and time on my Ipad is wrong that it won't let me download a book. I was off 5 hours. I reset my clock settings and adobe id let me download a book from the library. I am back to using Overdrive and adobe again on my ipad.

Besides not typing in all caps... you probably have Pro Tools installed, the Avid/Digi Core Audio MIDI driver is not compatible with Lion.
It has to be removed... Look in ~/Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers
Seriously, we tend to ignore Dweebs that type in all caps
