What did iOS 8 do to my photo stream?

I upgraded my iPhone 5 to iOS 8 from iOS7.1.2.  I do not see my photo stream in the Photos.app.  What happened?

Your photos are still on your phone.  With iOS 8 there is no My Photo Stream or Camera Roll any more.  The MPS has been replaced with the Recent Activity album.
The CR is replaced by the Collections mode.  The closest we can get to the Camera Roll is to turn off the Summarize Photos feature in the Settings/Photos & Camera pane and view the photos in the Collections/Moments window.
The photos will be in chronological order when scrolled up from the bottom of the window.
The Recent Activity album is showing the photos added in the last 30 days going back to 8/20 (today being 9/18).  In iPhoto on a Mac the My Photo Stream is showing more like 31 days, 8/19 to today, 8/20. It must be how the two devices calculate the last 30 days.
WARNING:  If you use iTunes to sync photos between your iPhone or iPad and your Mac do not activate the iCloud Drive. Doing so will kill the capability of using iTunes to sync with your mobile device and disable Documents & Data syncing for your iCloud account on OS X Mavericks and earlier Macs, as well as iOS 7 and earlier devices.

  • Photo Sharing in ios 6 shows all my photo streaming pictures

I decided to test the photo sharing feature in ios 6. I created an album and sent it to myself and was horrified to see that not only could I access the test album, but ALL my photo streamed pictures were available for viewing. I created another album, sent it to a gmail email account I have and had other same issue.  Next, I created a third album and send the "public sharing" link to myself: it didn't show the third album but rather the previously created second photo stream album, even though I had already deleted it.
I never had this problem with MobileMe.
    ANy suggestions?

I just did the same upgrade with my 3GS.  I am having a similar problem.  My contacts are on the phone now, but my music and apps are not.  When I try to restore the back up this is the message I get:  itunes could not restore the iphone because a session could not be started.
I see my my music and apps in my itunes library, but if I try to autofill it to my phone I get this message:  itunes cannot add any songs to the iphone because no songs in library can be copied to the iphone.
    Can you help?

  • IPad 2 w/IOS 5 no image in Photo Stream

I have turned all Photo Stream settings off, Reset Photo Stream, turned them back on, copied an image to it. The MBA iPhoto and iPhone 4 Photo apps see the image in Photo Stream.
The iPad 2 w/IOS 5 Photo app Photo Stream does not see the image. Other apps (for example PS Express) on the iPad see the image in Photo Stream. I have restarted the iPad and the Photo app.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Mike

    FYI
Message sent to app developer and Apple feedback:
After upgrading to IOS 5 on iPad 2 I was unable to get my images to show in Photo Steam in the Photo app. I did all the restarts, resets, etc. without success.
The Photo Stream images were available in the PS Express app.
When importing from Photo using Photo Manager Pro two Photo Streams were available, one with zero and the other with the correct number of images. Also, Photo Manager Pro hangs for a few seconds when it starts.
I deleted Photo Manager Pro and the images were immediately available in the Photo app Photo Stream.

  • Whats the difference between camera roll and photo stream?

Sometimes my iPhone photos come across to my iPad and iMac in photostream sometimes individual ones don't seem to.
If I've taken a photo on the phone its in my camera roll. Sometimes its in my photostream as well, sometimes not.
    Confused!
Frustrated when I want to use a photo off my phone on my iMac (say attached to an email) and photostream there doesn't have it.
iPhoto no longer has a photostream folder at left but it has an iCloud one. Is that the same thing and Apple (as usual) are just trying to confuse me?
    Help?
    TIA

  • IOS 8.0 changed my photo stream

Since the 8.0 upgrade, my photo stream is completely messed up.  My photos are still in different albums but have been removed from my stream.  My photo stream is correct on my iPhone 4 (not upgraded to 8.0) (because it is not available to the 4 only 4s and higher)  Is there any way to fix this?

  • Did something change with IOS6 and photo stream

Seems photo stream stopped working with IOS6, did something change?

I'm having this same issue, and after ruling out other possible factors limiting iCloud backup, I've concluded that the issue IS in fact the Xfinity Arris TG862 (Comcast wireless router). There is a section on Comcast's website that aknowledges a software issue with the router, and a software update will be pushed out at some point, but if you don't want to wait, you can request to have your router replaced, for free. Visit http://mydeviceinfo.comcast.net to see a full list of devices, then find your device, and if the text is in red (which would currently be the Arris TG852 and TG862 models), then you can either wait for a software fix, or request a new router at http://forums.comcast.com/t5/Connectivity-and-Modem-Help/bd-p/5
    Hope I could help!

  • What has happened to the export from Photo Stream option in iPhoto?

Until very recently I was able to export items from Photo Stream in iPhoto my Mac. Abruptly this option seems to have disappeared, and is now greyed out. Anyone got any idea why? Thanks in anticipation?

The borders and themes have been discontinued.

  • HT201317 i have pictures on my iphone photo stream that did not automatically download to my photo stream on the computer

I have pictures on my iphone 4 that are in my photo stream, that have not downloaded to my photo stream in the cloud. How can I get them to download?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Photostream in the cloud only keeps photos from the last 30 days (subject to a 1,000 photo limit). When photostream syncs the photos to your device they will stay there until deleted, which means you may well have more photos in your photostream album on your device than there are in photostream in the cloud.
The consequence of this is that if you turn photostream off and on again on your device, it will only be populated with photos from the last 30 days, which may not be all the photos that were previously in the photostream album on that device.

  • HT3819 iOS devices will not sync Photo stream

I have 1,000+ photos in photostream on my iphone 5s; of those only 629 appear in photostream on my ipad4 and only 50 show in our newly acquired Appletv. All iOS devices are connected to the same home wifi. What's going on? Is there anyway to force all three devices to sync all the photos? Sometimes I've read it may take a day or two, but in this case it has been over 2 weeks. Much appreciated!

Apple TV is accessing the most up to date stream, which only has photos from the past 30 days.

  • IOS 7 How to stop Photo Stream on my iPad

I've just updated to iOS 7 on my iPad.
Previously on my iPad photos I only ever had albums saved with photos I selected to the albums.
Now since the iOS 7 update I'm now getting every photo from my iPhoto on my MacBook and iPhone go straight onto my iPad.
How do I change the settings to how it once was with only the albums I've selected in iPhoto instead of every photo for the last 10 years showing up with an invitation?

  • What exactly is photo stream?

I have just upgraded to lion on my iMac and had already brought my iphone and ipad up to iso5.  I turned on photo stream and a few other things in icloud, like notes, etc, but not contacts or book marks, I don't want all of them from my imac on my phone so I am waiting to see if Apple will change this in a future version.
I open iphoto and saw a picture I wanted to move on to my iphone.  So I dragged it to the photo stream on the side bar of iphoto.  When I clicked on photo stream, there were already 12 photos in there.  Some were photos I had deleted from iphoto on my imac earlier today.  I was suprised to see them there and tried to delete them.  They would not delete.  So I did a search here and see a LOT of questions on how to delete photos from photo stream, most with no answer.  I did find where to reset my photo stream, under my name at the top right of icloud when I logged on to icloud  on my iMac.  But when I go to my iphone and look in photostream, inside photos, there is no way to delete a photo.  Also, in itunes on my iMac, photo stream shows up on the left sidebar under recent, but I cannot delete any photos from there.  Like others, there are photos in photo stream that I don't want.
Then as I think about it, I am wondering, if we are all a bit confused.  Maybe photo stream is JUST a 'pathway' for moving photos between our devices and whatever is in the photo stream, as apples says, sits there for 30 days and then 'falls off' the 'pathway' so to speak, and that the pictures 'live on' in each of our devices, ie the photo library on our iphone and ipad and in iphoto on our home computer (imac, laptop, etc.)  It may be that we are all confusing what photo stream is and is not.  If it is just a mechanisim (pathway in my description) for moving photos between devices, then it would make some sense that the photos will not delete.  They stay there for 30 days to give us time to move them into folders on the i device or the home computer.
My next question is how do photos get INTO photo stream in the first place?  does every photo we take with either the iphone or ipad, go into photo stream?  And does it also go into the camera roll?
