  • What directory are the RPM files in before installing Oracle?

    Hello
I am getting ready to install Oracle9i and one of the RPM files is missing so I downloaded it and will copy it to CD then to the hard drive. The question is:
    1) After I copy the RPM file to CD what directory do I copy the RPM file onto on the hard drive before installing Oracle?
    2) What directory are the other RPM files to be installed in before installing Oracle in?

There is no specific directory for RPM packages (in case we don't talking about builded rpm packages from src.rpm packages).
You can copy RPM package to and install from any directory. After succesfull installation you can delete it.
    Example:
    cd /tmp
    [ivan@ivan ~]$ cd /tmp/
    [ivan@ivan tmp]$ wget -q http://sunsite.mff.cuni.cz/pub/fedora/6/i386/os/Fedora/RPMS/zsh-4.2.6-1.i386.rpm
    [ivan@ivan tmp]$ su
    Password:
    [root@ivan tmp]# rpm -ivh zsh-4.2.6-1.i386.rpm
    Preparing...                ########################################### [100%]
       1:zsh                    ########################################### [100%]
    [root@ivan tmp]# rm -f zsh-4.2.6-1.i386.rpm
    [root@ivan tmp]# rpm -qa|grep zsh
    zsh-4.2.6-1

  • How to detrmine what directory you (the JAR file) are in

Is there some sort of function that returns (ideally in a string, or array of strings) what directory you (the JAR file) are in? Something along the lines of:
String dir = Function();Then dir would be something like : "C:\Users and Settings\Me\Java Apps"
    Thanks.

It's not clear exactly what is wanted. Look at the information in the API for java.lang.System,getProperties(), which lists properties available - choos the one you want.

  • In what directory are my emails stored c:\ etc. ?

I want to see/find where the actual email file is located on the hard drive.
    The c:\ etc. path
I want to look in which sub-directory contains the actual email

I believe that wdseml files are generated for integration with Windows search, so they offer a summary. IOW, they are not the actual stored messages and are probably not complete records of the originals. It would be stupid to save messages two times over. :-(
I'm using linux here and don't have access to a windows/thunderbird setup to check. But I can tell you there are no *.wdseml files on this linux machine. Therefore, they are not an essentail part of message storage.
Have a look for "Inbox" as the filename. You will find one for each account, under your profiles folder tree. They are hidden by default so you won't happen upon them by accident in your file system, unless you have deliberately set it to display hidden folders and files.
What has been said here that is inaccurate or snide?
Read this: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-tb to learn about how and where your messages and other data are stored by Thunderbird.
Recall that this thread was started by someone asking an odd question based on an unrealistic expectation. Thunderbird does not routinely store messages in the .eml format, but it will use that format for exported messages saved to discrete files. For most users, looking for .eml files will be futile.

  • What directory are photos saved in?

I Want to upload files to a website? Photon browser supports Adobe flash and all is good. Just need to find photo files.

The directory structure in iOS is not exposed to the user as part of the sandboxing and overall security. Its is, in part, what makes the device so much more secure than other OS platforms. Even if you knew the specific directory, it is doubtful you would be able to load anything from it. The fact that Photon is trying to find it is a flaw in its design (and you may only be seeing directories within Photon's install.
BTW: Safari can upload images from Photos to a web site, if you can get around any flash requirements on the site.

  • What directory names does Dovecot use to name mailboxes?

Over the New Years' weekend I migrated our mail server from a PPC-based Xserve G4 running OS X Server 10.5.8 to a new Intel Mac Mini running OS X Server 10.6.5. Overall, the migration was fairly straightforward, but we did have a mail glitch. Apple’s migration script run by Server Assistant (System/Library/ServerSetup/MigrationExtras/65mailmigrator.pl) created mailboxes at /var/spool/imap/dovecot/mail, as it should, but named the folders containing the migrated mail according to actual user names: like “bert” and “joe” and so on. When we actually fired up the mail server and watched what happened as new mail arrived or users logged in via POP / IMAP, we discovered that Dovecot was creating mail folders in /var/spool/imap/dovecot/mail named according to the users' GUIDs, such as A7FC2F6C-86C3-4119-B9C9-58B9B60E2066. So an entirely new set of mailboxes was being created, and the migrated mail wasn’t seen by our users at all.
Which is correct? Should the Dovecot mailboxes be named according to GUIDs or user names? We’re puzzled by the fact that Apple’s migration script created folders based on the users name whereas Dovecot appears to want to create folders based on GUID. I was able to manually copy over the contents of the migrated mail (bert/cur/*, joe/cur/*, and so on) to their proper locations, initially by hand for two users and then I wrote a small script to automate the copy for the remaining mailboxes. As a result, everyone received their migrated mail, though somewhat delayed and in some cases appearing more than once in their InBox as a result.
Our mail server, both in Leopard and SL form, is an Open Directory replica slaved off an Open Directory master. We had some fairly major corruptions present in the Leopard Server-based OD database we’d been using, so I made the decision to manually rekey a fresh OD database in from scratch using Workgroup Manager. I preserved user’s long and short names, UIDs, and group memberships but of course this new OD database had entirely new GUIDs for users. At first I thought the reason that Dovecot was using GUIDs to identify users it might have to do with the fact that the OD database had been rekeyed, and all the GUIDs had changed. Since then, however, I’ve brought up an experimental SL Server, also an OD replica of the same master. After enabling mail service on the experimental SL Server I’m seeing that Dovecot is also creating folders named by GUIDs as new mail arrives, and this server never knew what the original Leopard GUIDs were, so I must assume this is normal behavior.
…so the bottom line is which is correct: GUIDs or user names for Dovecot's mailboxes at /var/spool/imap/dovecot/mail? Assuming the answer is GUIDs then I have a bit of cleanup to delete all the folders that Dovecot isn’t using: right now it’s a bit of a mess. If it is supposed to be GUIDs, then the next question is why did Apple‘s migration script create folders based on user names and not GUIDs?
    …Any help would be appreciated.

R Bryan Harrison mentioned that Dovecot on his SL Servers name directories within /var/imap/dovecot/mail with GUIDs, not user names, as I noticed on a test server I built (a sandbox server). So it looks like our production mail system is doing the right thing.

  • What directory and filename in windows 7 are firefox 6 bookmarks stored in? I can find everything else but this in the help files.

    Seems self-explanatory to me.

  • What directory do you put the FM8 user.dct file in Windows7?

I want to bring my dictionary over from XP to Windows7.
In XP it was under Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Adobe\FrameMaker\8.0
Where does this file go in FrameMaker 8 in Windows?
    Thanks.

    Hello again!
If it were me, I would deinterlace the 25i footage and keep the project progressive. But it does really depend on what your final output requires.
Little difference in Contrast (Canon is better!!!)
Try using Premiere's color correction tools (fast color corrector, curves, etc.) for that.
    I tried with Sony's XDCAM EX 1080 25i preset - but then
the Progressive material seems to have lot of flickering.
Did you try interlacing the footage (Right click on clip, select "field options", and check "interlace consecutive frames")?

  • What directory servers are supported?

Sun ONE Instant Messaging supports the Sun ONE Directory Server 5.x family such as 5.1 or greater as well as iDS 5.1 or greater. Sun ONE Directory Server 5.1 is recommended because of the pending end of support for Directory Server 4, but either versions would work.

    Hi Frajib,
I don't think I've seen a list for netweaver in general.  I do know for the Portal application on Web AS 6.40 you have the following LDAP options.
       MS ADS
       SUN ONE
       NOVELL LDAP Server
       Siemens LDAP Server
    Hope this helps.

  • What directory do downloads go into and how can I change it?

I don't know where downloads are being stored.

It depends on your android device. Most probably it will be ''sdcard/download'' folder.

  • Have Eudora, need to import *.mbx files to thunderbird, what directory do

I'm updating from Eudora 7.1 to Thunderbird because my net provider is changing port numbers and Eudora does not appear to have provision to define specific numbers. My current Eudora has several thousand stored messages in many folders, I want to propagate these messages to Thunderbird.
    Mike

I've never tried it myself, but it sounds from this article as though it should be fairly automatic: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Importing_from_Eudora_%28Thunderbird%29
I think it should be possible to try the import and compare the two side-by-side to see how well it worked.
Let us know how you make out.

  • N95 how to limit what directory the Music Player s...

Hi. I installed some sofware in E drive (memory card) with some sound files (an IM program). The Music Player managed to find them and added them to the library. But those files are really nudge sounds and not musics.
So I really prefer it not searching directories other than the one I set to search. I would like to set it to only search "Music" folder if I could.
Could you help me out? Thanks.

If you hook up via USB you can change the file attribute to "Hidden", they then don't show in Music Player.  Refresh Music Player after changing them.
I haven't done it for a while so those instructions are a bit vague, if you search this site or some of the others you'll find more detail.
I had to do it after I installed "Step Counter" -- it's sounds showed up on Music player.

  • What does Directory Server offer over OpenLDAP

We need to deploy an LDAP solution that out of the gate has HA functionality in a mission critical environment.
I was wondering what Directory Server offers over OpenLDAP and other LDAP deployments.
We will not be using this for authentication, but merely a lookup to see if an account exists. Our mail servers will query LDAP to confirm an account exists before accepting the mail. So we will be doing 5,000 - 50,000 queries an hour (with a 10-15 minute caching) against a pair of LDAP servers to query if the email record exists on our system. Down the road we may add other functionality but right now the requirement is very simple but up time is critical as this can be a point of failure for incoming mail.

Sun Directory Server Enterprise Edition contains more than just an LDAP Server. It is a complete Directory Service solution.
It has a complete set of documentation and various levels of supports are offered.
Feature-wise, Multi-Master Replication offers high-availability with very limited down-time, disaster recovery.
DSEE does scale to hundreds of millions of entries and many tens of thousands of requests per seconds.
It is used in many industries (Banking, Telco, Automobile...) for user authentication, security, profiles and much more.

    Ludovic.

  • I need a script that can save images in whatever directory they reside in

I am working on a project where I have over 1500 directories that have multiple .TIF images in each one. I am looking for a solution where I can run a script (which may or may not call on actions) that allows me to save each .TIF as a .PSD and again as a .PNG (with specific optimization settings) in the same directory as the original .TIF. The main idea here is I need to be able to run the script and walk away. So I'm looking for a one press option for each directory.
I can create an action that saves the files in the proper format but when I record the action it saves the file in "folder 1". When I run this action again on "folder 2" it saves the images in "folder 1."  I could certainly make adjustments in the "Batch" dialog box by choosing the over ride "save as" function but the goal is to not have to do that 1500 times.
So, my question is, is there a single script out there that can save images next to the original .TIFFS regardless of what directory the reside in? I'm no scripting guru, but perhaps the code uses something with a "this" command to specify the folder to save images to? Is this even possible? If so, are there web sites I can buy this from? Is there a scripting community that can provide these services?
Any help to point me in the right direction is much appreciated.
    Mike
