What do I do if a message comes up and says battery low on my desktop?

I turned on my desktop today and a message came up and told me that the battery was low. The date and time are really off. My dad suggested packing it up and taking it to the Apple store with me but I don't want to do that. I checked to see if geek squad could fix it but they want $300 just to look at it. Any suggestions?

It is a very small battery inside which keeps settings, your clock, etc. going. They usually last 3 - 5 years and I don't believe they are user replaceable. I would make an appointment at your nearest Genius Bar and have them do it.
