What do i do if a song is corrupted and will not download?

I have purchased a song that wil not download. instead it starts downloading over and over and says that the song is corrupted. what do i do to download the song?

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not downloading properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entry, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

    If restarting the computer and iTunes doesn't work you can try one of these suggestions.
    1. If items appear (maybe in grey or different from working songs) but don't play you can try to delete them from your library so they will no longer seem to be there to the iTunes store. 
    a) select the item
    b) press option and delete key assuming a mac keyboard
    c) yes, send them to trash
    d) restart Itunes, go to store, check for available downloads, and select download all

    If you see the "Purchased" option on the main screen of the iTunes Store, here's what I'd do:
    1) Go into your library and delete the file if it downloaded. If not, go to your downloads and delete it from there to stop it from download.
    2) Go to the Purchased pane in the main iTunes Store section, locate the item, and try the download again.
    Also, you may wish to turn off any anti-virus or anti-malware programs before you try this again, as that sometimes is what can be blocking the download. Otherwise, contact iTunes Store Support:

  • Songs Appear Dim and Will Not Download

    I just purchased about 50 songs from an i-mix and the purchase seems to go smoothly, but when the download is supposed to start, the progress bar always makes it to the same feeble place and stops before a single song has been downloaded. All songs remain dim and the little icon that is supposed to swirl when a song is downlaoding is sadly motionless. I have my library stored on an external hard drive and I thought that might be the problem, but when I reset the library to it's normal location, I had the same problem. Do I need to authorize the external hard drive? Any ideas what the problem may be? I REALLY want to listen to my new music!!

    You don't have to authorize an additional harddisk - only computers need an authorizations regardless of how many hard disks are connected.
    Your problem sounds as if it is related to either your internet connection or to heavy traffic of the iTMS server.

It now has a blank bar under the launch pad and no matter how many times I try re-downloading it or restarting my computer it does not work. I use too play starcraft and other games on this computer although new patched/updates have made it that I can no longer do that now. Really frustrating having to deal with this especially after buying this computer upfront and now out of warranty.

    Go to your Applications folder and find a file called "Install OS X Mavericks".  Send it to the trash and delete it.  Then try the download again.

    It sounds like you are unable to play a couple of songs from your library becuase you get a message that the computer is unauthorized to play, but other content purchased that same day works without issue. I would verify that the affected songs were purchased with the same Apple ID first:

    Open iTunes
    Highlight one of the items you have purchased (You can find your purchases in your Purchases playlist).
    Choose File > Get Info.
    Click the Summary tab.
    The Account Name area will list the account used to purchase the item. Unless you have changed accounts, this is your iTunes Store account name.
    If so, then delete the songs:

    Delete the current copy of the song from iTunes and then download again (free) from your purchased history.
    If the problem persists contact iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history.

    I am transfering songs from one computer to another using home share.  Both machines are authorized in home sharing.  The songs import from (my) windows computer to the other (my wifes) authorized MacBook Pro, computer just fine.  Once the songs are in the library and i try to sync her Iphone (4s) to her computer the songs ar greyed out and i can't play them nor see them under iPhone after sync is complete.  What the heck is going on?  BTW, the songs that i have imported are either songs i burned from a CD or songs i have purchased from the iTunes store, so they should sync no problem!?  Help please.

    Have you synced music to your iPhone before?
    If you havnt then you need to make sure that the sync setting for music has been set up:
    - open itunes
    - plug in your iphone
    - from the summary page to the right is the option music
    - on the music tab make sure Sync Music is selected
    - choose wether you would like to sync entire music library or selected songs and playlists
    - after that press apply to the bottom right
