What do I do if I think a fuse blew
Good morning,
The other day we had an electrical storm and although all my electronics survived, my Time Capsule will no longer power on. I'm not sure if there is an internal fuse or if I have to take it in to an Apple Store to get checked out.

Opening the TC and poking around is fairly dangerous if the OP starts unwrapping the power supply.. please be warned.. the primary capacitors in the power supply can hold a full charge for several weeks. They might not kill you but you will be digging the finger nails out of the ceiling. There is no fuse.. period that you could simply change.. modern electronic devices will use a varistor or voltage controlled diode. The whole power supply can be replaced by a repairer on my listing..

But it is not guaranteed to fix it.. please read the warnings here. http://sites.google.com/site/lapastenague/a-deconstruction-of-routers-and-modems /apple-time-capsule-repair/apple-time-capsule-repair-type2

Obviously you dont like listening to music on your ipod in iphone. The EQ is crap
Not true at all.
I listen to music on my iphone all the time.
It is your position that anyone who does not agree with you does not listen to music?
Really?
What a leap. -

The necessary links/menus you need to navigate to after clicking the Report a Problem link can be a little tricky to find. See
Refunds from the App Store or iTunes Store
Hope it works out for you (: -
What do I do if I think my Iphone has been hacked?
I think my iphone has been hacked ... how can I know for sure... I believe they may have gotten my contacts.... who knows what else?
I was also hacked this week on my 4S. As improbable as everyone at Apple may say, it did happen. I am pretty good with technology. My kids had my iPhone 7 years old and they went to a website that without my knowing, allowed so done to take control of my device. I had the phone on charging and connected via wifi. I heard in the middle of the night someone talking and then a fax machine but thought I was dreaming. I turned over and went back to sleep not looking at my phone.
Next morning I wake up and the screen is on maps? I panicked and realized a bunch of SMS txts and also some emails went out. In checking my call log, bingo... A bunch of calls over a 4 hour period. I started to delete anything suspect but really didn't know what to do. I then called all my banks and credit card accounts to out them on high alert.
I called apple and they begin to say that this is a software glitch, clearly they were not listening. I went to the apple store and spoke with a supposed genius who suggested the same thing. Finally, I explained it to a level 2 person and they suggested wiping the phone clean by resetting it and reinstalling everything fresh. I still have no way of knowing what was accessed or downloaded and more scary, neither does apple.
When I asked if there was an app, they couldn't suggest anything saying that by default the iPhone is secure and encrypted yet here I am with a remote accessed situation on my hands.
Any ideas... Anyone? -
What can I do if I think I have a virus?
QuestionWhat can I do if I think I have a virus?
AnswerSkip this and contact a professional
If you'd like to skip this guide and contact a professional, CLICK HERE.
There are a few steps you can take if you think you have a virus.
Use anti-virus software
One of the first things you should do is scan your computer with anti-virus software. Many Toshiba computers come with software for this purpose. You may choose to use an alternative, but you should only have one anti-virus program installed at a time.
Run your anti-virus program and ensure it's fully updated. Once it's updated, preform a full scan of your computer.
Disconnect accessories
If that doesn't help, you should disconnect any accessories connected to your computer. It's possible that the symptoms that you think are due to a virus could be due to an accessory.
Uninstall new software
An error with a new program might be causing problems that you think are being caused by a virus. To check this, uninstall any new programs that you installed near the time your computer's symptoms first appeared.
Perform system restore
If none of the previous suggestions helped, you might consider performing a system restore. This will return your computer's system files to a previous state. System settings will revert, and programs installed since the restore point was created might need to be reinstalled. Your documents shouldn't be changed.
For more information on performing a system restore, see one of the following articles:
How To: Understanding System Restore, Refresh, Reset, and, Recovery options in Windows 8 + Video
How To: Perform a system restore in Windows 7
Contact a professional or perform a system reset
Lastly, you might want to return your computer to factory default conditions. This is sometimes called a system reset or a system recovery. Note that this will remove all of your software and data that you added including applications, documents, photos, etc.
If you don't want to reset your computer and you'd like to contact a professional, CLICK HERE.
If you do want to proceed with a system reset, the system reset will remove the virus. For more information, see the following article:
How To: Understanding System Restore, Refresh, Reset, and, Recovery options in Windows 8 + VideoSome processes are critical, but many can be interrupted without any problem.
You can monitor your ongoing processes by going to Applications/Utiltities/Activity Monitor; pay particular attention to Disk Activity and Network. To interrupt a process, highlight the process, and tap "Quit Processes." This will interrupt or stop the runaway process. -
My sons I touch has gone very light in colour almost white . It gets worse as the battery wears down . He swears that it hasent been near water so would Anyone know what this is . Should I take it in to fix ?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -
What do I do if someone think their account to mine and I did not except that how do I get rid of it
How do I do if someone think their account to mine and I did not except that how do I get rid of it
It's not a virus. It's a JavaScript scam that only affects your web browser, and only temporarily. There are several ways to recover.
1. Some of those scam pages can be dismissed very easily. Press the key combination command-W to close the tab or window. A huge box will pop up. Press the return key and both the box and the page will close. If that doesn't happen, continue.
2. Press and hold command-W. You may hear repeating alert sounds. While holding the keys, click the OK button in the popup. A different popup may appear, which you can cancel out of as usual.
3. From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and uncheck the box marked Enable JavaScript. Leave the preferences dialog open.
Close the malicious window or tab.
Re-enable JavaScript and close the preferences dialog.
4. If the Preferences menu item is grayed out, quit Safari. Force quit if necessary. Relaunch it by holding down the shift key and clicking its icon in the Dock. None of the windows and tabs will reopen.
After closing the malicious page, from the menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
to get rid of any cookies or other data left by the server. Open your Downloads folder and delete anything you don't recognize. -
What do I do if I think I damaged the sound on my laptop by playing music in the shower?
So I recently read a question on "Macbook Pro" questions of someone asking if it's ok to play music on your laptop while in the shower. I know now that it's not ok. But before I knew this, I take about 30 min showers and I take my laptop to play music ever once in a while. Last night it shutdown a little after I got out of the shower and it wasn't because the battery percent was low. I went and plugged it in to charge it and it still didn't come back on for a good five minutes (which were probably about the worst 5 mins of my life because I was freaking out.) Once it turned back on I played a couple seconds of a couple different songs to make sure the sound was ok and it seemed fine for those few seconds. I tried to play music today and when I turned on a song, it played well for about the first 10 secs and then it started crackling. I think I broke it!! I feel horrible. Should I go to the apple store closest to me to get help?

HT1338 what should I do if I think I may have a virus from an email I received?
I opened an email from my sister which had a link on it. I click on the link which brought me to a site. My sister later sent me an email that her computer had a virus and that the email was NOT from her. What can I do to see if I have the virus? I do not have an anti-virus installed on my Mac. Thank You for any help you can give me.
You don't have the virus. If you supplied a password to the site which you clicked the link to, change it immediately. If you supplied a credit card number or anything similar, that information may be in the hands of a hacker.

What kind of software am I thinking about?
For example, you know when you want to check-in to a place on facebook? and a list of all the surrounding locations come up for you to choose.
I am doing research on what I want to incorporate in my app. What is this certain feature called? Could I use this in my own app? That sounds like some kind of geolocation service such as Google Maps.

I work at a school running 10 iPads. We connect to the internet through a proxy server. Prior to iOS7 we had no issues, the devices still on iOS6 work perfectly.
All devices which have been upgraded to iOS7 cannot download apps. I can find the apps in the store, choose to download them, but the icon hangs for a while before returning the "app cannot be downloaded at this time message". Help.I have this same exact issue. We have even put all apple servers as not even being filtered by proxy and it still wont download anything. Nor will it let us even log in or create a new acct in the app store. It seems its also not just app store related....as it won't even let you check for IOS updates when a proxy is entered.

Reinstalling does not help. Computer locked up for unkown reason and this has happened ever since when i try to start firefox.
Is there a file I can delete or kill that will terminate this process?See:
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_in_use
* https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Firefox+is+already+running+but+is+not+responding
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
See:

Why does deleted music stay on my IPad I light grey and yet it isn't really the?
Did you select all of the music to sync by clicking on the playlists or albums or whatever you use in iTunes - in order for them to sync? Or did you click on Entire Music Library if you want all of your music on the iPad?
