try giving your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot and try your app again
You won't lose any data.

I recently upgrade to an iPAD Air. I gave my old iPAD (1st gen) to my wife. I restored it to original factory conditions. Now we cannot install iBook on it since it requires iOS 7. What can we do with older iPADS that are still 100% functional except for the fact that you cannot updrade the iOS above version 5?

What is the data usage for ipad mini on stand by when connected to WIFI?
We connected 34 ipad mini's for yacht WIFI network that has internet access. Now data usage is 1GB/h higher for the all connections than before.
None of the ipad's are used for internet. My question is what is the data usage when ipad is is standby usage and how I can stop is downloading/uploading.
This slows down internet for rest of the users in same network.

What do yoou do when your iPad freezes up. My iPad is plugged in each night and is connected to Wi-Fi. This morning the following message appears:
iCloud Backup
"This iPad hasn't been backed up in 6 weeks. Backups happen when this iPad is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi."
I press OK and it does not budge. I try to power off. The red arrow appears but it does not slide to power off. The iPad has simply frozen on the home page.
MikeTry resetting it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then releasing. You won't lose any data by doing this.

I tried updating to iOS 8.1 but it have the apple symbol and a blue screen pops up and it restarts the process and its been going on about 3 weeks already. I dont know what to do? Is my iPad broke cause I just got that iPad in August.
Hi You may have a hardware fault take ipad to Apple Store. Ring then first to make an Appointment take box and you purchase paperwork they may give you A replacement. Before you do that Try a Reboot hold down power button & menu button hold both down until you see Apple Logo you may need to hold down for up to 30 Seconds But you may need to do this more than once. If it doesn't work take back to Apple Store. Cheers Brian

These models both use the same i7-3820QM processor, so difference(if any) is probably not in CPU(only stepping can be different, but intel site shows only E1). GPU is also the same(again, 'revision' or something may be different). doesn't seem that RAM is different either, it's 1600 DDR3L(only timings and power consumption can differ, but it's unlikely). SSD - cannot say anything from specs. Screen[manufacturer]? Googling shows nothing for me. And only visible difference(apart from model number) for me is price. As I'm considering purchase, I don't want to spend more money to get different number.

What to do now when my iPad won't turn on after I turn it off. It shows only the apple logo. I am sure it has above 70% charge as when I sync my iPad it shows necessary detail in iTunes. I have tried, HOME & POWER button, but did not work.
First try a Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least Ten seconds... (But can take Longer)... until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.

I purchased the iPad mini Wi-Fi & Cell because it has GPS. OK, it is assisted GPS but the GPS works very well as stand alone. I got the iPad mini for use in flight, so I dont even have a sim card in it. The GPS works perfectly in flight under all conditions. I have cross checked it against typical approved aircraft installations and it is very accurate at all times. I use it in Wi-Fi mode on the ground when updating my aviation database, when planning a flight, or similar circumstances. The primary advantage of A-GPS is quick location reading when first turned on, when on the ground where the GPS satellites signal may be of reduced quality. At 10,000 feet plus, it is a stand alone GPS. I have frequently turned the iPad off in flight for periods of time and when powering up, it gave me accurate positioning in a few seconds, never exceeded 10 seconds. I have also tested my iPad on the ground, using the aviation maps, and the GPS works perfectly also.
It remains possible that there is some feature that enhances the GPS when on the ground, even if there is no sim card in the iPad. But I doubt that any of these would work in an aircraft at high altutide. Nonetheless, I would appreciate knowing more about this. -

Best regardsThe warranty on an iPad, even a refurbished one, will still be valid in Egypt. It's only the iPhone that does not have an international warranty. Just make sure you don't buy a Verizon-model iPad, which cannot be serviced anywhere but in the US (and won't work with any other cell carrier either).
Note that refurbished iPads are available only via the online Apple Store, and they accept only US credit cards and will only ship to US addresses. This may not be a problem for you, but I wanted to make sure you were aware.

ThanksAn iPad 2 will do it...for awhile. Realize that it's seemingly on it's last legs as far as iOS updates go and performance will not be great enough for today's demanding games. Also realize that a big part of running apps smoothly is how much system RAM (the memory area that the apps actually run in) the device has. The iPad 2 has 512 MB which is adequate for most apps but not for some. The iPads above the iPad 2 all have 1 GB of system RAM and the iPad Air 2 has 2 GB.
The time will come when the iPad 2 can no longer be updated past a certain iOS version (as the iPad 1 is) so it will be more difficult to keep up with apps that you want to be using. This will eventually happen to ALL devices so you'll have to judge if you want to be at the tail-end of iOS updates or at least have a bigger buffer with a newer iPad. -
What will happen to " the new iPad " I bought 2 months ego. Now the model is discontinued . What apple will do?....really disappointing.
I just bought two new iPads a few weeks ago. If they're still in the return window they're going back. Maybe it's time to look at some of the Android tablets since all of a sudden Apple thinks the mini is a great idea.
