I have had my iPod touch for about a year now and last night I locked it and it has not come on since then. I would like to know what I can do
I have a blue iPod touch 5th generation 32 GB running iOS 8.0.2.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I would think, Twins1995, that if we are having the problem, others are as well. Hopefully, Apple will shortly issue a follow-up software release to fix the problem. Or is that just wishful thinking on my part.
It would be helpful, if there were some kind of work-around in the interim, so we can use our devices. Pretty frustrating when you consider that all of the hardware and software is produced by Apple.

Are yo the original owner and have never jailbroke the iPod?
Does the iPod work OK?
The warranty is also void:
if any serial number has been removed or defaced from the Apple Product.

First, make sure it's charged (I'm sure you did!) When this happened to my son's iPod, we held down the sleep and home buttons at the same time for 15 seconds or so until it restarted. After that it behaved normally. Good luck!

i just bought a ipod classic and just subscribed and downloaded itunes,
i downloaded all my cds to itunes but when i plug my ipod into the computer
nothing appears on the itune (i guess a ipod icon should appear so that
i can transfer all my music to my ipod) hellllllllp

I think Im having a similar problem with my second ipod classic 80Gb.
Initially I had trouble getting the first ipod to be recognized by my PC but eventually it recognised it, I named the ipod and had no more problems from then on. But I had no idea what I did to make it work.
When I connect the second ipod it says it is connected on the ipod and the PC recognises it as a device that is working properly with the right driver but it wont show in My computer as a drive and I cant get tot he "Getting Started" stage to name the ipod. I have tried numerous things including reinstalling itunes, reloading the driver, disconnecting all other usb accesories ect.
Can someone please Help??

HT1386 I have synced the items from itunes to an iphone 4 without problem, except the two albums I just purchased did not sync. They show up on the itunes on my desktop and on my ipod, but not on the new iphone. What do I need to do?

I have an itunes account and an ipod, and when I purchased 2 albums on the computer they synced straight to the ipod. I bought an iphone and used the usb cord from the computer to it to sync the itunes albums to the new phone. Everything transfered, and those were albums I had uploaded (not purchased from the itunes store), except the two albmus I just purchased from the itunes store. They appear on my itunes on the computer and ipod, but not on the iphone. What did I fail to do or did I do incorrectly?

This might sound weird, but here's an idea which worked for me re music that was newly added to itunes and showed up in my ipod but wouldn't play - I simply played the tracks in itunes first, just a second of time or so will do it, not the whole track, then connect the ipod and sync again and this time they played - hope this helps.
