What do I do when iTunes doesn't open during restoring process for an ipod?

I am following the prompts for restoring an ipod with a forgotten password. I have connected the usb cable to my computer and the usb and iTunes symbols appear but nothing else is happening. What do i do now?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

ITunes will not finish the restoring process for my iPhone 4s

So I have been trying to restore my iPhone 4s but iTunes will not finish the process. I have the latest versions in both my phone, iTunes and windows updates... I have restarted the iPhone, the comoputer and iTunes... I'm at a lost on what to do. The phone screen has the plug going toward the iTunes icon but when I do connect it to iTunes it does not restore. iTunes goes through the motions until it gets to "preparing iPHone to restore" after that it just kind of stays there for about half an hour and then it shoot out an error 2003 saying the iTunes couldnt' finish the process... I have all of my firewalls off too... Any suggestions?

I'd possibly say to check USB connections. Maybe another cable.
All else fails, you might try to restore on another computer.

Just like the title says, iTunes doesn't open when I click the shortcut in the Start menu. It appears in the windows task manager under proccesses as 'iTunes.exe *32'. Sometimes it will open 10-15 minutes later. It worked just fine until a few weeks ago. I have tried running as Administrator, I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling multiple times. Not sure what else I can do. I need to use iTunes to synce my mom's iPhone 4S and my iPod touch 3 Generation. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Uninstall iTunes as instructed:

I was surprised too, but I guess nobody gave a cr*p. I figured it out on my own. Basically, sync, then uncheck the box for the option to open iTunes when that iPod is hooked up, sync again, then check the box, and sync one last time. A dialog box pops up that asks if it's OK to install "iTunes Helper". Say "yes". Now it works.

One other thing to check. When you plug in your iPhone, open iTunes to sync it, and on the Summary Page for the iPhone, look near the bottom of it for the Options section. Put a check in the box that says: Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected. That should automatically open iTunes and start the syncing every time you connect it to the computer. Hope this does it for you.

Welcome to the Support Communities!
It sounds like the application is having an issue burning the CD.
I would suggest you Force Quit iTunes, eject the disc and then open iTunes again.
Then try burning again with a different CD.

What do you mean by 'will not let me download' ? Is the buy/download button greyed out ? Are you getting any error messages ?

If the computer is running Mac OS X 10.5.8, you cannot install the most recent version of iTunes. You will have to download iTunes 10.6.3, the last version that will run on a Mac OS X 10.5.8 system:

I presume you looked in the Trash on the computer, though, to see if the things you believe you deleted are perhaps still there? If they are, just drag them back to the Applications folder.
