What do I do when my home button quites working when I've had my ipod for 7 months?
What do I do when the screen on my ipod touch is not reading my touches? I can't touch the screen and i can't turn it off to reset everything
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If defective, within warranty and not abused Apple will exchange it at no cost.

If iTunes sees it, you could try a restore. At least backup and sync before visiting Apple.

Take it to an Apple store genius bar and if it is defective they will replace it since it is in warranty.

Sorry but that makes no sense at all. How can they possible know what things will possible malfunction on your device? Anything that they think is highly likely to malfunction they would have addressed in desiging and manufacturing the device in the first place, during development. They've made and sold many millions of iPhones, and many of them have lasted years without any problems (I know, I've owned such iPhones personally). So how could they possible know if yours was any more likely to develop any issues than any of those other trouble free ones?
It's hardware - stuff sometimes breaks randomly. No amout of money ever guarantees or even reduces the likelyhood of random product failures.
Take it in to Apple and see about getting it fixed. -

Apple, as I said, does not repair your iPhone. All hardware service issues are handled by replacing the unit. So they can't handle the home-button issue without also addressing the issue of the cracked screen, for which they'll almost certainly charge you. But you can make an appointment at an Apple Store or call Apple tech support and plead your case.

When you buy an iPhone in the U.S. it's locked to that country with the carrier you bought it for.
If you bought the device unlocked in the U.S. it's unlocked, you can use it on any carrier. Even one's outside the country.
If you want to do a repair on a device you bought in the U.S. and your using it in another country, you must send it back to the U.S. Why? That's where you bought it from.
AppleCare Protection Plans and AppleCare Limited Warranties are registered to your hardware.
Your hardware is your iPhone.
Wherever hardware that was bought then that's the country it was designed to be used in and that's where it was manufactured.
Apple is very localized - if you call U.S. tech support, you'll speak to somone in your country.
So, what does all this mean?
In order to do a repair, you need to send it back to the country you got it from.
And we're all customers like you. We understand that you're upset, but Apple isn't gonna bend the rules to one individual.
Policy is policy. Get over it. -
This is an iPad replacement because the ne that I had before rejected my sim card so Apple sent me a new ne for free. I received it last Wednesday and the home button didnt work correctly. You broke it, you will need to get it serviced or replaced. The drop voided your warranty so you would have to do an out-of-warranty replacement with Apple.
