What do I do when you have purchased a song from itunes but doesn't let you play it

I got a song from itunes but when I play it it says that I have to authorize on my computer and then it gives me a message that my computer is already authorized but won't play the song.

1. Go to expresslane.apple.com
2. select 'itunes' and then 'itunes store' on the right
3. select a topic and a subject
4. click 'continue' and then 'email'
5. fill out the form and explain your situation
6. they will respond within 24 hours usually

By 'purchased items' do you mean the Purchased link under Quick Links in the store ? If you do then do other songs that you've purchased appear there (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) ?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

I purchased a song from Itunes, downloaded into my library and synced to my Ipod....Well when playing the song, it cuts off at the 3:20 mark, and the song itself is 4:07 long....I have tried everything, but I cannot get it to work...Can someone please help me? Does the track play all the way through in iTunes? If not, remove the song and redownload it via iTunes. It will cost you nothing.

I have rented a movie from iTunes, but cannot get it to play

The film has downloaded, and on the picture of the film title, there is the word "play" with an arrow. When I click on the word play, nothing happens. I have iTunes 10.5, and iTunes has been happy as a clam, and I can listen to music and audio books...but I cannot play this film!

Yes, this is very frustrating. OK, I have a lot of songs on my iPod and in iTunes that were transferred from CDs. Only the 'purchased' songs from iTunes show up on my phone, not the 3,000+ songs I physically downloaded from said CDs. On the screen of my iPhone, the songs are in grey and next to it in red is a circle with a square inside (similar to when you download an APP) but it won't download. I am now trying the 'home sharing' that I found in an old post and syncing the phone, again, to see if that helps. I think I am going to have to make a trip to an Apple store. Whether you can redownload music depends upon what country that you in. If you are using your computer's iTunes then does music show in the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page (on your phone you might be able to redownload media via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app) ? If music shows there, but not that album, then check to see if it's hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
If you aren't in a country when you can redownload music and it's still on your phone then you should be able to copy it over from the phone via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases.
