What do I do with my icloud if i want to change the email

ok, so.... our family shares an apple ID but we didnt have an Icloud set up until this January. And our faily had two ipads and a few ipods but no icloud. when i got my macbook pro the system made me create an icloud with an @me.com account.. and now our icloud is a complete pain in the butt...No one used it until M-Day.. mothers day my mom got an iphone4s and she is freaking out becuase she is ssuuppeerrr organized.. and all of my contacts mail and all other icloud contents appeared on her iphone... i decided to make a new icloud account. seperate from that other one i made(to give my mom the other acount to herslef), how can we delete the @me.com email from the first original account and put my moms contents in it...:) thank yooouuu:)

You can't change the me address on the first account. Since I'm struggling to understand why you are wanting to do what you want to do, it's difficult to suggest a workaround.
If you just wish to share your mother's content from her own new account, then the easiest solution is to add her account to your devices as a secondary account (settings >mail, contacts, calendars) and just enable the services you wish to use.

When you use the Lion restore as described, it does a fresh install on the hard drive that you can select at the beginning of the process. This provides a complete install of the very latest version of Lion, including the recovery partition. The drive that you choose for the installation destination winds up like what you would have on a brand new computer from Apple.

You can change the login ID address, provided that it is not an @icloud.com, @me.com or @mac.com address. You will need to sign out on all your computers/devices and sign back in again with the new ID.
However, once you have created an iCloud account and chosen an @icloud.com address to go with it you can't change the address (short of creating an entirely new account).
All is not lost, though. You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account, move it to another account, or reactivate it if you delete it.

If your AppleID is a .Mac or .Me account then you can't change it. But it shouldn't go away.
If it is something else you can. Just log in here (https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/) and manage your AppleID. Click edit next to the ID and you should be able to simply change it.

I would definitely be interested in any update on this topic - I used my Gmail account to authenticate the first time I used StreamWork - yet I use a different address (own domain) for all my emails. People tend to invite me via the email address they know - not the Gmail one - so I have to tell them to use the Gmail one, not ideal!
what I would really like is to change the main email address but still have it linked to the Gmail address.
Perhaps I should see if there is an Idea Place idea for this

You would have to delete the existing iCloud account and create a wholly new one - you cannot change the @icloud.com email address of the one you already have. To make a new one, you will also need an new AppleID as any AppleID can only have one iCloud account associated with it.
Deleting the account will not delete anything off your device (if prompted for things like contacts, choose to keep them). You will have to sync everything anew with the new account as you cannot move your sync'd content, your old backups or anything else from one iCloud account to another. You will have to set up sync again and let it sync to the new account, and then make new backups to the new account as well.

Yes it will, just sign out, then sign back in with the correct address.

If you cannot reset your Apple ID password via security questions, you can reset via email authentication. If you are not receiving the email, it may be necessary to contact Apple Support using the link in the Get help section toward the bottom of the article.
