What do I download to use itunes on my surface 2 rt?

I have a new surface and want to connect my Ipod to play the music on the internal speakers.
What app is available to complete the connection?
thanks.

You do not install iTunes or sync an iDevice with a Surface tablet.
The Surface is running an unsupported OS.  Only the Surface Pro and Surface Pro 2 are running full Windows 8 and can have iTunes installed.

  • Hi, is it possible to download apps using itunes because we dont have wifi connection, we only have internet service connected to PC. thanks

hi, is it possible to download apps using itunes because we dont have wifi connection, we only have an internet service connected to the PC.

There are some steps on this page for syncing a device (the page talks about iPhones, but it would work for iPads as well) to a new computer : Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive.
When you connect an iPad to a computer's iTunes for the first time it might give you two options, to replace what is currently on the iPad with what is in that computer's iTunes library, or to set it up as a new device (i.e. remove all content from it) - hopefully the above page will get around that.
You should be able to use different computers to update the iOS version and to sync content (can you not use the same computer ?), but you will probably have to do the above for both.
If you don't currently have anything on the iPad that you don't mind losing (have you downloaded apps or other content when you've had access to wifi e.g. in shops, other people's homes ; or got any documents etc on it) then you don't need to go through the steps on that page.

  • HT4914 Are the older "Protected AAC files" that I have replaced with the unprotected version when I re-download them using Itunes Match?

Are the older "Protected AAC files" that I have replaced with the unprotected version when I re-download them using Itunes Match?

Additionally, when trouble shooting, and you disable iTunes Match on an iOS device you cannot simply re-enable it immediately. You must launch the Music app and let the content clear out before re-enabling the service.

  • How do i see what's on my shuffle using itunes

why is there no method to see what's stored on the shuffle through itunes.  That seems like a pretty common action.

From Apple's FAQ for the shuffle:
"Can I use iTunes to view the songs on my iPod shuffle like I can with other iPods?
No. The iPod shuffle icon that displays in the iTunes Source list is actually a special playlist (like Party Shuffle). It lists which songs in the library are currently configured to be sent to iPod shuffle, but not what's currently on the unit. If you see a bullet by a song, it indicates that the song was not sent to iPod shuffle. See "Some songs in your iTunes library aren't copied to your iPod" for reasons why songs were not sent to iPod shuffle."
Can you play songs from the shuffle?

  • Problem in using 2 IDs for iTunes music purchase downloads and using iTunes Match for 1 ID

    Dear support managers,
We are using 1 macbook pro and 2 apple ID for purchasing iTunes music together (Me and my wife).
Actually, I have bought 1 year service of iTunes match on my apple ID and have been using well the service after download the purchased musics under the apple ID I am using.
But once my wife associated the macbook pro with her apple ID to download the musics she purchased,
I have not been able to use the iTunes Match service I have subscribed already.
    The message said
"This computer is already associated with an Apple ID. You can use iTunes Match on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 90 days"
I can neither purchase another computer for solving this situation nor want to purchase another iTunes Match service on my wife's apple ID.
Please help me out to solve this issue.
    Thanks and best regards,

    Hi,
You can only use one Apple ID with iTunes match. Purchasing another match subscription using wife's Apple ID is not a solution. I can only suggest that you use your ID for match and all iTunes music purchases.

  • HT1212 My Ipod Touch is disabled and i need to know what my password is without using itunes because my ipod is not synced with itunes.

I don't use my ipod touch that much but now i want to.So when I tried to unlock it, I tried like everything I could to try to unlock it and now it is disabled. It has been disabled for about 30 minutes now and is still. I don't have it set up with itunes and it won't let me set it up because the ipod is not unlocked. So I need to know how I can unlock my ipod without buying stuff, using itunes, having difficulties, contacting apple, or taking it to an AT&T store or whatever. So I REALLY need some help!! :/

You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • What are the Rules for using iTunes outside the US?

I'm a US citizen with a US bank and a US credit card and a US mailing address.  The only things that are outside the US are me and my US-purchased Mac.
I understand that I can only use the US iTunes Store while I'm in the US (which is about 3 or 4 times a year).
What about the rest of the time?  Is there an official way to purchase additional titles when I'm outside the US?
What does the current contract mean by "agree not to use the APP outside the US"?  Is the "APP" iTunes or just the iTunes Store?

I understand all this "can't get there from here" stuff has to do with copyright laws and such but the real world is going to do what it has to do.
This is why I wanted to know what the Official Rules were.  iTunes is not currently available in my country of residence so even if I wanted to, I couldn't use the "local store" as there is none.
I had a similar problem with Microsoft Office 365.  Can't subscribe from "here" without using a "local" credit card.  I do have a local credit card but it can only be used "here".  When I tried to subscribe using my "local" credit card on Microsoft's "local" website - my "local" bank denied the charge as the "local" website was actually in the US.  VPN solved the problem.

  • Ipod nano 7th gen - downloaded music using itunes (mac) and have now discovered it won't play on my JVC car stereo.

It says it can't read the files and when I looked up the car stereo manual it says it won't read any files not done on windows media.  Is there any easy solutions around this? as it was purchased solely for use with the car stereo... :-(

If you want to make song files from your iTunes library available on your car audio system, and it connects using a USB port, a new iPod nano is a very expensive way to do it.  If that's the only reason for getting the iPod nano, you should return it and get a cheap 8 or 16GB USB flash drive instead, which costs less than $20.  Here's one that barely sticks out of the USB port.
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/SanDisk/SDCZ33016G/
You can then leave it connected in the car all the time, except for when you want to update the songs.  An iPod is more fragile (especially screen and battery), and you'll have to always remember to remove it, in case the car overheats or freezes.  It would also be a target for thieves.
For the audio file format, I can't believe any car audio system would ONLY play Window Media files, and not the most common type of audio files, MP3.  Songs purchased from the iTunes Store, and those ripped from music CD (using the default settings), are in AAC format.  It's possible the car system does not play AAC.  So, I would try songs from your iTunes library that are in MP3 format.
You can use iTunes to convert songs from AAC (or any iTunes supported format) to MP3.  So, if MP3 works, and you need details on how to convert audio format using iTunes, please post back.  You cannot convert to WMA format (which is Windows Media audio) using iTunes.

  • What are the options to use itunes with multiple accounts on one computer

I am totally confused; apple phone support seems to have no clue at least the person I spoke to. I want to get two iTunes accounts on one computer, one exists already. I am not sure what apple allows in this case. I was told at a apple store that if you create another PC profile you should be able to get the second iTunes account on the same computer with the new windows profile. There seems to be no info on the discussions board to this issue.
I do not want to share an account and have a second library I think it would be too confusing for the other person. Is this possible?

You can purchase music using multiple accounts within the same Windows profile & using the same iTunes library. I think when you log into the store it remembers the last account name used, but provided you don't let it remember your password then you have the opportunity to enter the correct details for each purchase.
If you're going to place these purchases on your respective iPod's the following may help.
*How to use multiple iPods with one computer*
The Apple support document How to use multiple iPods with one computer suggests a number of ways. I use method two (Sync with selected playlists) with a slight twist. Rather than regular playlists I set the grouping field to indicate which users should receive which tracks and create smart playlists based on the content of this field.
    e.g.
"Alice's Tracks" is "Grouping contains Alice" + "Kind contains audio"
"Bob's Videos" is "Grouping contains Bob" + "Kind does not contain audio"
Tracks that both Alice & Bob want on their iPods have the grouping set to "Alice/Bob"
    etc.
I currently manage our family's five iPods using this system, each getting a different selection to suit their tastes and the capacity of their iPod. An advantage of using the grouping field is that it is stored in file tags (for non-wav audio files anyway) so that it is relatively easy to recreate the playlists should the iTunes library get trashed. Also useful if you move files about manually as playlist membership is preserved when you delete & re-import the tracks.

  • How to download and use iTunes 7.4 with only Windows 2000

I have a brand-new iPod Nano (1st generation) with 4 GB capacity, given to me in 2007. I am just getting around to trying to install and use it, but when I try to download the iTunes 7.4 software, I get a message that I need at least Windows XP or Vista to install and use the software with the iPod Nano. I only have Windows 2000 on my computer, which is company owned (so I am not allowed to update my Windows software). Anyone have a solution so that I can get some level of iTunes software in order to use the iPod Nano?? PS I tried to download iTunes 6 software, but I got a message that my iPod nano needed a more recent version of the iTunes software. Same thing happened when I tried to download the iTunes 8 version of the software.

  • How do i install updates which were downloaded earlier using itunes over another machine

Any one out there....please advice. Thanks

Copy the .ipsw file from the other computer to the one you're trying to use to update your iPad, then install the update by Option-clicking the Update button (Shift-click in Windows) in iTunes and choosing the downloaded file.

  • I try to download music using iTunes but the pop-up appear "cannot connect to iTunes Store"  Help me..

Help me.. how to solve it. I already sign in the Apple ID.

Well folks I finally got my "can't connect to iTunes" issues fixed. Seems that there was an unauthorized change to my email address and account therefore not allowing mr to connect to iTunes.
Here is how I got it fixed.
    1. Contacted iTunes store support
    2. Followed their instructions and replyed with the following info:
An order number from one of my purchases
Last 4 digits of the c.c. Used for the iTunes store acct
Answer to one of my security questions
And 2 items from this list.
    Birthdate
    Billing address for Acct
    Phone number on acct
It was after all of this that they saw that someone had made an account modification back in February when the issue began. Seems they changed my email address just slightly and that is what kept me from being able to sign in and not a password issue. This was likely due to a phishing email that came out in conjunction with iCloud asking users to change their passwords to a more secure form by adding a capital and number.
To get all of this cleared up it took about 4 days as we emailed back and forth. I also needed a seperate email address they could use to send me info. Once they determined the issues and went to get them fixed by changing the email address associated with the acct and I created a new password I was able to access iTunes with no issues and even my previously thought lost acct balance was there.
    Hope this helps
