What do i get with the component video cable and "new" universal dock?

I've got the component video cable and the original universal dock. it doesn't seem to want to pass audio/video. do i have to have the "new" universal dock to pass the signal? i realize i can just hook up my 3G to the cable directly, but i am in the process of building a small home theater and i want to have a dock i can set my phone in. i like the idea of being able to use a remote as well.
also, what signals get passed. do you see everything as you see it on the iPhone screen? do you see album art on the tv? can you move through iPod menus with the remote looking at the TV?
thanks.

You only see the video of the TV show or movie you are watching. You don't see album covers or any navigation. If you are playing music there is no video, just audio. You can also see photo slideshows.
You have to start the video on the phone. The remote will pause/play the video, change the volume out of the phone, move forward/back chapters of video, move forward/back songs playing or go fast forward/reverse of songs and video. There is no navigation of your songs/videos via the remote.

I don't know what is going on with the White Balance (WB) and LR.  I had no problem before but recently LR started to change the  WB as  it is importing photos.  I checked the color scale for my photos and LR and both are with sRGB.  Now instead of LR changing the WB it is giving me a second copy with a new WB.  Your advise is very much needed and appreciated.  Thank you.

Can you show us a screen capture of this 2nd copy with a new WB in your Lightroom grid? Thanks
Are these second copy photos by any chance photos that had been previously imported?

  • Component Video Cable and Bumper Case

Just a head's up. If you have an iPhone 4 and a bumper case, the Component video cable will not fit properly when the bumper case is on. It inserts, but the cutout that fits the standard USB cable is too small for the plastic part of the cable that is larger on the Component Video cable.
When I tried to plug it in, I did not notice this the first time and got the "This accessory is not compatible" message. I also got B&W video. When I took the case off and the cable seated securely, I was able to get 420p video from the video I took with the camera. NOTE - The Component cable only supports 420p when playing on an NTSC TV. I was also able to see YouTube at 420p. I did not try anything else.
Hope this helps some of you avoid frustration

Yes I do live in Europe. But who says that Component Video Cable is a standart from USA or Japan. I have been using Component Video Cables to connect my DVD Player with my video projector since 2002. Component Video Cables are wisely used in Europe. And its the ONLY analogue way of transferring HD-Video (Plus DVI and HDMI)
What disturbs me alot is that on www.toshiba-europe.com they explain that my computer has:
    Interfaces 1 x headphone
    1 x DC-in
    1 x line-in
    1 x external monitor
    1 x RJ-11
    1 x RJ-45
    1 x i.LINK (IEEE 1394)
    4 x USB 2.0
    1 x Monitor-in (line-in port)
    1 x TV-antenna
    1 x S-Video-in (Composite/Line-in)
    1 x TV-out (s-video, Component-out))
1 x 5-in-1 Bridge Media slot (supports SD Card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, MultiMedia Card, xD-Picture Card)
Where is the Component-out ???Promise is a promise. Why do they say it if they dont give it?
Instruction manual also says that : D-Video port lets you transfer 525i(480i),525p(480p),1125i(1080i) or 750p(720p) data to external devices.
How can you transfer 720p with a Scart Cable?? It is impossible.... The only way that Qosmio can transfer 1280x720 picture is a Component Video cable.(Because it has no DVI port) How much does this cable cost anyway?? But the problem is NOBODY is producing it in Europe. I am writing to Toshiba-Japan. Since they are saying that my computer has Component-out so they must get me the cable....

  • Qosmio G20 = Component Video Cable and High Definition Videos With Pinnacle

    Dear Everybody
I bought my Qosmio G20-120 from Poland which came with D-video to Scart cable. This cable is only capable of transferring Video (CVBS) signals which is pretty useless because Qoismio has S-Video Output already... Which is better than simple Video Output that I can get from Scart.
According to www.toshiba-europe.com Qoismio has supposed to have Component Video output. But it comes with Scart cable instead. I am still trying to get this Component Video to D-Video cable from the distributor. If I wont succeed, does anybody know if and where I can buy this cable in Europe? Or is it possible to make a component video to D-video cable out of D-Video to Scart cable?
As last did anybody try the high definition DVB-S channels on Qoismio by using USB 2.0 DVB-S TV Card.Any opinions about Pinnacle PCTV 400e ??
    Thank You

  • A little tip, with the X-Fi's and new mobo

I've asked around and tested some. And it seems like if the mainboard have PCI-Ex6 and 2PCI's or less, the sound got a tendence to crackle and so on. I've suspected this, as i've used my Creative X-Fi with some mobo's.
(I don't know if this is the problem, but it might me a good thing for you people, who are planning to buy a new mobo.)?System Was an AMD which had an EpoX 8NPA-SLi. (2PCi-Ex6, 2PCi)Sound worked very good. (Windows XP x64 Proffesional.)?System 2 Was Intel with Asus P5VD2-VM (PCi-Ex6, PCi-Ex, 2PCi)Sound crackled a lot and was unhealthy for ears. (Windows XP x64 Proffesional.)?System 3 Was the same Intel, but with Asrock 4CoreDual-VSTA (PCi-Ex6[which infact is running 4x, but is looking like a usual x6], 3PCi)Sound worked good (Windows XP x64 Proffesional, For Vista The Sub, won't work cause of drivers and programs.)?System 4 will be tested soon. Waiting for a gigabyte mobo, which is supposed to be changed with the Asus. (PCi-Ex6, 3PCi-Ex, 3PCi)?According to some buddies on Irc, their sound works good. But no one have less ports then my system 2 had. (Most of em got 2PCi-Ex6, PCi-Ex, 2 PCi)?I can't say that my teory is worth anything, as it might be something else causing this crackle. But i think that the "IRQ"'s are different cause of the number of PCi ports on the mobo. (Anyways, i've hope this can be useful and just wrote this to try help. And i don't know how much of this has been said before and if it doesn't help out, im sorry.)?Btw, im not working at creative, i've just feel sad about these really great soundcards, which seem to malfunction in some systems.

I Installed the Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 mainboard today. (Very tricky to install, especially if you get mad at the installation of cables etc.)?Anyways. I've tested the mainboard in one of the games i had terrible "crackling" in, with the Asus mainboard. And after 20minutes i've concluded that this one seems "crackle" free too. I don't know, but it seems like all mainboards i've had with many PCi slots (of all types, PCi-Ex6, PCi-Ex4, PCi-Ex and PCi.) doesn't have this crackling problem. Conclusion: Most of the mainboards, which was crackle free, had 3PCi's (Usual ones.)?Hope this will help some of you people. (The Gigabyte mainboard was tested under Windows Vista Buisness, without crackle, but with not so good working drivers, so quality of the sound is still not too good.)

  • What is going on with the explosion of versions and redesigns?

Why is FF now coming out with new versions monthly and massive redesigns god knows how often? A version used to last a year or two and now it's a month at the most if I'm not mistaken. Maybe no-one's noticed but that's not how other software works. Seems to me like something with so many problems shouldn't be released in the first place.

Note that another popular browser like Google Chrome behaves in the same way and even needs an update if one of its built-in plugins like Flash need an update.
Firefox allows easily to set a lot of options including the update behavior, but in other programs this can be a fixed setting and not easy to modify or you may not even notice this like you do in Firefox.
Having an up-to-date browser that has all the security patches to exposed security flaws is important to minimize the security risks.
Big appearance changes like recently with the Australis appearance do not happen that often, but this redesign hasn't finished yet and you will notice more changes in upcoming Firefox releases.

  • What's going on with the PowerMac G5's and wireless??

Like a ton bunch of others, I'm having serious issues with my wireless capabilities in my PM G5. It's a dual core 2.0-last revision with a AP/BT combo card. I can see 2 bars when I start up (which is very weak for where the computer is) and as soon as I launch Safari, or Airport Utility, the signal will die. It will then say that it cannot find a network even though it had 2 bars on my network a second ago. A lot (if not all) of the other afflicted users have 10.5.4-is this a coincidence?
I forgot to mention that my MacBook works perfectly. Four bars throughout the house.

I suggest a software issue with Leopard.
Ever since moving to Leopard(the day it was released), I've seen wireless problems on all the machines I've had.
My 2GHz MacBook, 1.83GHz Mac mini, and now my Power Mac all saw drops in AirPort signal quality in the move from 10.4 to 10.5, the worst offender being the Power Mac with which I've experienced many dropouts.
Now I haven't been providing Mac tech support for a couple of years now, so I'm unaware of the scope of this problem on Power Mac G5s, but I can only suggest that it may be fixed with future software updates.
Now having said that, how many of you are running an OS previous to 10.5? That would help a bit with narrowing it down.

  • I was given a gift of an iPhone 5s in Saudi Arabia. I took it to Verizon who said they could not hook up the phone. Does anyone have any ideas about what I can do with the phone?  It is new and unopened

I was gifted an I phone 5s in Saudi Arabia. Took it to the Verizon store. The sales rep told me I could not use it.  Any suggestions?

If it's a legitimately unlocked iPhone, you can use it on AT&T or T-Mobile if you like. You can not bring your own iPhone to any CDMA carrier (Verizon, Sprint, etc).
If it was originally sold in the Middle East, Facetime is permanently disabled.

  • What cameras  are compatible with the camera connection kit

what cameras are compatible with the camera connection kit and ipad2

I also recently bought the camera kit and found that it worked fine as long as you don't format the SD card using PC. Once I re-formatted using my camera I could once again upload my photos. that was until I switched formats to Adobe RAW, it seemed unable to upload again. So I switched to S RAW and that worked fine. Sometimes my kit won't upload photos but I find that by just re-inserting the card it works fine.
Haven't tried video yet, but I recently learned that the devices are quit sensitive to the "Format"(that needs to be FAT32, or exFAT- but in this instance it needs to be formatted by a Mac).
    Good luck

  • Ipod componant video cable.

Hi, i just got my ipod componant video cable and dock, and it worked fine untill i was messing around with my ipod and switched the tv signal thing to PAL(whatever that is) then had switched it back and no i get no video i just get lines and fuzz and snow and stuff on the screen, i get audio but no video, please help me.

NTSC is the tv broadcast format used in North America. PAL is the tv broadcast format used throughout most of the world. That answers your first question.
Here is what I would try. Reset your iPod by holding down the Menu and Center buttons simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.
Then after your iPod comes back to life, open the Videos menu and then go to the Settings menu.
Make sure your settings are as follows:
    TV Out: Off
    TV Signal: NTSC
    Fullscreen: Off
    Captions: Off
Now plug in your cable to the docking port and connect to the tv. If you are still in the video settings menu, you should see the TV Out item change to On. If not change it to ON.
Now try to play a video.
I suspect that if you change to PAL from NTSC or vice-versa while the cable is still plugged in that the output actually is not getting changed.

  • Component video cable

just upgraded to iphone 4, pluggeg into my component video cable and nothing transfers to the screen, is the cable not compatable, do i need a different one?

I have the same problem. 1st I bought a 3rd party component cable at BestBuy, went home to my fairly new Samsung LCD HD TV. Tried both component hookups on the back. TV did not see the device. Frustrated went to Apple store yesterday and purchased the Apple component AV cable. This time the iphone4 acted like it was "sending"..by that I mean the play bar was moving and no sound or video was shown on the phone. BUT the TV says component 1 or 2: NO DEVICE IS CONNECTED.
I'm so frustrated. I also want to play videos I Make on the phone on my T.V.
    Anyone?
