Happy New Year for all of u~!
hey~ i imported 250 pics recently, and while viewing 'slideshow' i rotated some pics that were taken vertically.... and i also rotated some other vertical pics simply at the iPhoto main viewing window....
now, i don't really know which is which, but some or most of those 'ratated' pics are not properlly shown at the main viewing window... i mean: when a pic is vertical, it has to be seen 'vertical' but i found out that the pics i rotated are shown 'fit to width' unless i 'zoom in' the view, and then i would see the pic 'vertical' and not anymore 'fit to width'.... but as soon as i 'zoom out' i would see the pic 'fit to width' again.... i guess this is not a new feature, but a 'bug' or corruption....
so, what should be the best solution?
1- deleting the .plist file ? (if so, do i lose the personalized album config?)
2- deleting and re-importing those pics only? (what i dont like from this, is that the recently imported pics are shown in a diff order, i mean, they are displayed chronologically, so i wont have the same pic order)

Deleting the plist will not affect the rotation or thumbnails.
The best solution would be to rebuild the library choosing the first three options.
I also suggest that if you have your camera auto rotate photos, then turn that off for now. I have it turned off with my camera and never have rotation problems in iPhoto. Once imported into iPhoto, I rotate them and it sticks.
You should also upgrade to 5.0.4 if you haven't done so yet.

I am relatively new to Macs and am concerned about what I will lost if we upgrade out Mac mini server from Tiger to leopard. There was a time when new Apple computers were not backward compatible, certainly Microsoft upgrades always have issues. Thus I have fear for performing an upgrade from Tiger to Leopard on our server without knowing what we are in for.
I looked at some of the discussion threads here and elsewhere. I see a lot of minutiae but none that would be an issue to me. Then again, no one seems to put out a publication (including/especially Apple) that say here are the possible drawbacks.
I guess our biggest concern in our existing data. Are there any types of document formats that we will no longer be able to read?
I assume Office, Photoshop and those types of programs will be fine as surely the publishers have issues the necessary updates. Is that correct?
Are there any mainstream issues that could come as a surprise to us and present serious problems?

Only if the applications which open those documents run in Classic.
And only if you do not have another program that can open them.
for example, Filemaker...I used FM5 (classic app)...OSX versions of FM were both overkill for my needs and cost prohibitive, so I never upgraded.
Lost access to all those files.
Fortunately, I was able to download a demo of FM9, open the files, export them to XLS format, then open them in either excel or numbers. Of course, lost the database functionality, embedded images were no longer there, and calculated fields failed, but at least the data fields converted.
The issue in photoshop, from what I understand, is saving to a network drive.

Save locally, then copy to a network drive, and pshop should work fine.
Are you already on Intel, or are you on PPC? you may find some other quirks if you are also upgrading to an Intel based system.
Things like QT and browser plugins that are not Universal binaries.

If you really have a 2G iPod you can go as far as 4.2.1. To identify your iPod See:

- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up.
- Restore the iPod from tha tbackup. This will also update the iPod if you have a 2G iPod.

Passwords will not be deleted if you just clear the cookies and the cache. What you will lose when deleting cookies is the "Remember me" option on websites, so you will have to log into the websites again.

I am doing pixel perfect work and just upgraded from CS3 to CS4. My collegues are still using CS3.
When i save from CS4 as CS3 i get warning in save screen about that i might loose some text aligments when reopening file. When later i just save I again get a warnign messaga abou similar issues.
Now is there a list or guide about what do i lose when saving as CS3 in CS4
Or is there some guide what i should avoid to do iin CS4 to have maximum compatibility to CS3.

The warning message says you may lose data when saving to legacy formats, which includes anything pre-CS4. Saving from CS4 to AI 10 could have serious consequences for type. But I don't think much, if anything, changed in the type engine from CS3 to CS4, and I doubt if any type alignments would change.
Generally, in any Illustrator version, if you use a feature that was not present in an older version, it won't, of course, be supported in the older version. The artwork that uses that feature is just flattened. I think the only new Effect features in CS4 are hidden Effects (in the Appearance panel) and transparent gradients. Hidden Effects are simply discarded in the legacy version. Transparent gradients are converted to a simple gradient with an opacity mask. So, in both cases the appearance is preserved.

If you are asking what happens when you delete an iCloud backup, it only deletes the backup from your account. It won't do anything to the data on your phone or in your iCloud account. If you don't need to backup you can delete it. (If you no longer want to back up your phone to iCloud, turn iCloud backup off in Settings>iCloud>Backup. Then your phone will back up to your computer each time you sync it with iTunes.)

Provided you have recently synced you phone then the SMS are stored in the iPhone backup made by iTunes during the sync process. If you restore you can choose to restore from backup which should mean that you don't lose the SMS.

I've had it...I want to SAFELY go back to LR 3.6...and I'm scared. I don't want to lose anything, but I'm willing to lose all edits since I installed LR4, which for me has been a nightmare, with no help from Adobe. Can I just "uninstall" and try reinstalling, as normal...what will I lose? I am so gun shy - I tried just switching back to LR3.6 having not deleted it and it is broken too, and a handful of previews load, then others try to load, taking far far too long. If previews do load, they disappear when I scroll up or down (if it lets me). I've tried all the suggestions on this forum that I understand and are somewhat basic. I've checked my CPU usage, and system, which should be more than adequate and find nothing wrong here to indicate that it wasn't LR4 causing this, especially after reading other's posts.
Adobes lack of customer service is astounding. Their design of sending us looping through the help system only to advertise their products and "services" is worse than no help in my opinion. Frustration from near non stop 3 days of trying to get this fixed. I did receive a couple of replies to questions I posted on the forum, so I appreciate that. Unfortunately, I'm where I was before. You will lose PV 2012 edit capability, the amazing editing of RAW and jpeg files, the way that upping the shadow detail does not introduce 1/10th as much noise as fill did. You will lose the ability to lift the whites and drop the blacks, the ability to add the incredible clarity and compromise its crushing blacks by reducing the black levels.
You will lose the ability to Geotag your photos using data from GPS trackers or iphones or similar machines that generate the necessary GPX (?) files.
You will lose the ability to make books with a company called BLURB.
You will also miss the headaches and the issues, the slowness and the frustrations.
Why not use LR4 for all your new images? rather than importing all your old images from LR3.X catalogs?
There is a great deal of info on ways to reduce the lags, the issues, the slowness. YES some are workarounds, some are / rather should be unncessary, but they DO work.
I have catalogs on USB 2 drives. They work, but I'm mostly adding new images to these and I can cope with some slowness, fortunately I'm either very lucky with my laptop having very few issues.
I restart LR4 on my laptop every hour or so. So what it takes 30 seconds. I lose that every 2 edits, so its not a realistic issue. Its a FXKNG PITA that LR4 does not work properly, but fill in the bug reports on their get satisfaction forum.
This was posted 2-3 weeks ago on the bug forum http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lr4_0_reacts_ext remely_slow but why it was not posted on here is totally beyond me. Whoever is doing LR4's marketing and social awareness is in need of a new job as a prison janitor as they are not communicating with their public.
I've been asking questions on Twitter and facebook, and posting comments - fair, but honest, and I'd recommend making noise on twitter / facebook / Google + as this is where comments will get noticed, they can't shut down threads or delete comments.
All that negativity and educated derisement will cause them more pain in the real world. This is where voices are heard and companies have to listen, or mud does stick.
Make comments on twitter using the hash tag #lightroom #LR4, you can also put these on Facebook messsages, google+ and Linkedin.
All these really make a very very strong impression on companies, they should listen to social networking and if they dont, they are so 20C.
LR 4 will get sorted, it seems to be 2 main issues - dual displays and over enthusiastic disk access - for some reason more prevalent on certain drives - whether SSD or not, I'm uncertain.
Til then, if you are going back, use your LR4 catalog for the stufff you've edited in LR4 - why not export all the most recent stuff as a new catalog and use that when you need to, and go back to the backup LR3.X catalog that was generated when you upgraded to LR4
least you can cope with the slowness of those images you worked on in LR4, but have your main catalog as LR3.x

It depends on the type of email account you are using, not on iCloud. If you are using an IMAP or exchange account, when you delete from one device, it is deleted from all devices. If you are using a POP (POP3) account, it won't. (iCloud email, Gmail and Yahoo are all IMAP accounts.)

Do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Unless you have a backup from which you can restore, yes you will lose all of your data and settings.
You should be able to sync your content back to the iPad if you have been syncing with iTunes all along. If you don't sync with iTunes, you can download much of your paid content again for free as long as you use the same Apple ID. This explains downloading past purchases.

Unfortunately, at this point, you must restore the device before you can move on. There is nothing you can do to avoid it now.

You should get your keyboard checked as it's repeating on a lot of keys and makes you look silly.
There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

Data sources in LO cockpit have a seperate exctraction source during full update mode and delta update mode.
During delta update mode(when an transaction is posted in any particular application - like SD - sales orderm delivery) data is posted in application tables and updated alongside to the update table/extraction queue.
From the extraction queue this data is further transfered to the delta queue using periodic background jobs.The data is then upladed in BW. The delta lad always reads data from this delta queue.
However, when a full load is requested from the BW, the data is sourced by the set up table of the corresponding application.
The setup table is loaded/initalized first. In this initialization process , it reads data frm the corresponding application tables and stores it within this table. Later BW reads from this set up table whenever full/initial load is requested.
The process of filling set up able before full load request frrom BW is called set up run.
Before you run a set up to fill the set up tables you need to check that the set up table is empty.
If it is still containing data that was previously loaded in some other set up run. This data will als get loaded in BW unitinetionally/accidentally.
So, you need to ensure that you only get the intended data in BW. This can be done by proper selections to transfer data from application tale to set up table and from setup table to BW.
Along with this you hae to ensure that the set up table is either empty or you are using a disparate selection in the set up run and BW load which does not overlap with the previous set up runs data.
