What do I need to charge my ipad in europe

I am travelling to Germany this summer and will be bringing an ipad and an iphone. What do I need to charge these electronics- just an adapter??

You just need an adapter to convert the AC plug on the power "block" to the German standard. The power "block" itself is universal.

What do I need to charge my iPad when in the UK?  I know I need the UK plug adapter, but does the 12W iPad charge adapter convert the power?

If you are using the Apple supplied charger, you will simply need  a plug adapter for the local power system.
As per your other post, if you wish to simplify your packing, the iPad charger could be used for the iPhone and the iPad.

  • What do i need to charge my ipad 1 in the ukraine

i am sending an ipad 1 to someone in the ukraine.  will the standard US cord and power adapter work?

I do not think so. They'll need a plug adapter to make the US plug fit into Ukrainian outlets.

When travelling from US to UK and France what do I need to charge macbook and iPhone?

Just a pin converter and your Apple US Power adapters (100-240v 50/60Hz)
The European sockets take 2 x round pins, adapter available from  in most drug stores carrying travel aids as is the UK pin converter.
UK is heavier 3 x rectangular pins

  • HT1695 Do I need to charge my ipad before setting it up?

Do I need to charge my ipad mini before setting it up? and if so how long?

Nope. All apple devices come precharged.  It may not have 100% battery but it should still be pretty much charged. You should be able to turn it on and start setting it up.  You can even set it up while its charging if you wanted to.

  • What do I need to charge an iPhone in France?

I'm planning to travel to Paris and need to know what exactly I need to charge my iPhone once I get there. Will I need a voltage converter or just a plug adapter? I've done quite a bit of Googling and can't seemed to find any detailed info on this.
Also, anyone know what the availability of wifi is like over there?

Just a plug adapter so the North American plug fits into a European socket. The AC adapter that came with your iPhone works on 100-240 V and 50/60 Hz (even states that in very fine print on the adapter itself), so it works (nearly) worldwide with the proper plug adapter.
Wi-Fi availability is pretty good in urban areas.

Can I charge my Ipad in Europe without using a voltage converter?

Just spent 10 days in Ireland with our recently-purchased iPad and had no trouble charging it with the proper adaptor. NOTE: The UK uses a different adapter than continental Europe. Make sure you have the right adaptor for the counties you will visit. This article is helpful:

  • What to I need to connect my iPad 4 Gen to my TV?

What adapters/cables do I need to connect my iPad 4Gen to my TV. I want to download videos from my iPad to my TV.

    1 of 2 thing:
    An Apple TV:
    http://www.apple.com/appletv/
Or a far simpler Lightning Digital Av Adapter
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD826ZM/A/lightning-digital-av-adapter
For either of these your TV must have HDMI imports. Most recent TV's less than a a few yeas old have HDMI inputs.

I purchased an iPad2 in the US. What do I need to use it & charge it while traveling in Australia & New Zealand?

If it's 3G, and the AT&T version, then you will need local micro-sims in those 2 countries if you want to be able to use 3G whilst there (and avoid potenial roaming costs with AT&T).
For charging you should just need plug adapters - my UK charger has 100 to 240 v (50 and 60hz) in faint grey writing on it, and I believe both NZ and Australia are 230 V  50 hz so you shouldn't need a converter.

  • AT WHAT % OF USEAGE DO YOU CHARGE YOUR IPAD BATTERY? 30 % 20% 8%- WHEN, ALOS HO WLONG DO YOU CHARGE FORM THEA/C POWER OUTLET?

What % of use do yo recommend to re charge your battery using a/c outlet?

You can recharge at any %.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

  • What do I need to charge my 5c iPhone in France

What accessory do I need to buy in order to charge my 5c iphone while in France?

All you need is the approriate plug adapter. Teh charger is already enabled pretty much for world wide connecting. Apple offers thsi : http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB974ZM/B/apple-world-travel-adapter-kit?fnode =48  But it pretty much overkill for traveling to just on country. You should be able to find just the plug addapter (or two, but I think France is on a standard system country wide) at a local electronics store.

my bro & sis also had ipad3, its take abt 4 hours to charge, its seem normal for it. so no point to send customer service for repair? i did sent this ipad3 for service due to sound problem & charges problem, but after customer service test, they say no problem. When i use the charges to charge my ipad3 its shown "not charging" so i got no choice, now i m using my ipad2 charger to charge my ipad3. is it normal?

  • At what percent do I start charging my iPad?

Do I start at 10-20% charge remaining and don't let it run under 10% This is all I need an answer to don't show me how to charge it what tempter I should charge it and all of that. Some people just can't answer the question.

When all you see is the red battery icon, and you can't turn it on:
Don't leave it like that for a long time.

  • What do I need to use my "IPAD MINI" on a TV without HDMI?

    Hi all,
I hope you guys can help as Apple Support on the phone and in store were useless!!!!
    Dilemma
I had an IPAD 2 and brought the Apple AV composite lead (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC748ZM/A/apple-composite-av-cable) so I could watch my IPAD 2 onto my TV.
Now I have upgraded to an IPAD MINI. this has the new lightning adapter, so I was looking to purchase from Apple their Lightning to 30-pin adapter (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD823ZM/A/lightning-to-30-pin-adapter?fnode=45) so I could reuse my AV composite lead into my TV. And this is where the problems start.....
    1. The Lightning to 30-pin adapter does not support "video"!
    2. My TV does not have an HDMI, so rules out Apple TV, etc
    3. Apple do not do a Lightning AV composite lead and are unlikely to produce one apparently (as there is not the demand)
    My restrictions are as follows;
    1. My TV has scart and AV connections only (but no HDMI)
    2. I need to have audio and video supported (for photos / videos and sound)
    3. I can't afford to buy a new TV... by the way that was the Apple solution, then buy an Apple TV.... they are on a different planet..... lol :-)
Any help, pointers in the UK where I can buy a lead elsewhere would be great or any decent solutions (and they wouldn't have to be great to beat Apples thus far!).... thanks community!

I haven't found any Lightning-to-Composite Video adapter anywhere. You'll probably need the Lightning Digital AV adapter and then an HDMI to composite video converter, as suggested in Patrick's response in this thread:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4351799?start=0&tstart=0
I've found that suggestion echoed in other places, so that may be your only option.
    Regards.
