What do I need to start developing apps?

Hello good people of the internet! I have a question about how I would start to develop apps for iOS, so I decided to come to the source.
Here's my backround. I grew up with PC's and I love tinkering with things. I'm a PC gamer who loves to mod games and screw around with those kind of things. I'm a college student studying Aerospace Engineering, but I have pretty much no coding background. I have a PC laptop (2 year old Toshiba Qosmio), an iPhone 4s (in the shop because the battery's rusted), and an iPad Air. I am eager to learn to make iOS app because it is a skill that particularly interests me and it looks like fun.
My question is, what do I need to do to start developing apps. I know I need a Mac, so what Macs have enough horsepower to develop apps? What coding language(s) do I have to learn? Where can I learn said coding language(s)? Where do I get the app development software, and how much does it cost? How do I get my finished apps onto the App Store?
I thank the good people of this forum who have taken the time to view my question, and I give even more thanks to those who respond.

Hello, i have a question, i want to distribute an app through the app store, i understand the process with the xcode and the reviews and the licence developer, etc. however i cant find any information about the licence agreement.. ive been told you have to mail a signed contract to apple to get my app accepted.
All i saw on the page was a pdf contract that says i agree with the terms and conditions, which i did, can anyone tell me what other documentation will they ask me for?.. and also how long this process will take.

What auth obj to use for allowing user to create and save workbook?

We are on BI 7.0, we have requirement which will allow users to develop and save workbooks (NOT BEX query) via BEx Analyzer. I have examined the auth obj S_RS_WKBK but it is obsolete auth obj and there is nothing similar obj in BI 7.0.
i then looked at the S_BDS_D, is this all i need in order to allow user to save workbook on to the backend system?
pls note, user can only save workbook NOT BEx query.

Actually there is no direct away to do it
First use the Authorisation s_user_agr , here in the activity field assign01,02,03 and 06 , in the role name assign a specific role name.
In s_user_tcd in transaction asssign - RRMX.
Got to PFCG, maintain the role.

What steps are needed to configure the apps tier after a db-only clone?

Hello Gurus.
My client wants to save time on cloning, and has asked for database only refresh - meaning that we dont clone to the application tier, but only to the database.
What steps must be taken once the db clone has completed? Need I run autoconfig? What about all the profiles that will be pointing to LIVE in the database?

you should run adautocfg.sh on the application tier as well. Otherwise the essential information regarding your application tier will not be registered within the database and you will not be able to connect to your database through the application.
adcfgclone will not be necessary on the application tier.

IRig - what do i need to record songs (app-wise)?

I've just bought iRig because I LOOOVE to sing in my spare time and saw this as an excellent item, even if it's just for fun. I bought it yesterday but didnt' have time to set it up (if it has be set up), so in order to record my voice over the songs (with no vocals, i read i can record my voice over the music), what do I have to download? App-wise? pls help I'm not really computer-savvy

What does "you have data to Sync, go to TOC and press Sync" mean when I open the Bible 1 App. I don't know what "TOC" is

When I open my Bible +1 App the following appears - extremely too brief to read once - "you have data to Sync, go to TOC and press Sync.." on my iPad. I don't know what TOC is, or where to go to Sync my data. I also don't know WHAT data I have TO Sync. Also, is there an Instruction "manual" so-to-speak that explains more about the latest update from November 27? I'm working off an iPad 2 which is my ONLY piece of computer "anything" so all I'm woking on is my iPad. I also do not have access to any person's lap top or computer. Can you help me?

Went to Google, tonefox, and found the information. As I told Meg, I am still "way over my head" with computers and still have to remember that you can 'Google" pretty much ANYTHING.

My Twitter mobile notifications stopped. I checked the Twitter account and it's okay. I can send and receive from others in my contact list. What's up with this?

I usually receive about 9k-10k messages per month. I received my last Twitter mobile notification at ~7am this morning. It's 3:15pm or so and I haven't received any. I restarted my phone, that didn't change anything. I powered off and turned my phone back on, that didn't work either. I pulled the battery and that didn't nothing. I delete messages everyday so they don't stack up.

This may seem simple, but what is the easiest, most painless way to take an LrPhoto and save it as a jpg of a specific size somewhere in the file system?

It's not really an export, but if I have to use LrExport to do it, that's fine.

I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 6 an I can connect to wifi and it will work for a short period of time until it stops loading big pages such as wifi or safari but it can send and deliver iMessages what should I do? I'm using up a lot of data now lol

I couldn't find the edit button on my original post so I am posting an update here.
I have gone through more apps and have had good luck on all but one more. And it's not that the app doesn't work, I am talking about the Yahoo Weather app, It works fine, but when you swipe between cities the screen lags a bit and it sometimes doesn't move between pages the way it should. On iOS 7.1.2 it was smooth as butter but on iOS 8.0, not so much. I will post a note in the app store to let them know. I really like the Yahoo app better than the new stock app.
I have been going through my games and they all work fine. Angry Birds (Original and Stella), Canabalt, Minecraft, Bejeweled 2, Silly Walks, PopWords, Doodle Jump, Deep Green all seem to work just fine.
Starbucks app works as it should.
I will stop back again next week after I have had the weekend to play with it in detail and post my thoughts again.

I was able to connect my G4 10.2 to the work server and have all the details (IP address, domain name and my own login and password.) Since buying this G5 I am unable to connect. I have read SO many posts on the subject and have tried some things. Unfortunately I continue to get this message .

First, to what service are you trying to connect on the work server? I.e. what protocol? E-mail works, but e-mail might be publicly visible, while the other service(s) you are attempted to reach may be private (and VPN) only. Have you configured your VPN? Is it a Cisco VPN?
There are quite a number of steps involved in setting up access to a remote network correctly, and you need to know quite a few details of how the remote network is designed. Without that, we cannot help you very much.
Have you even talked to the IT people at your work?
