What do I need to do to stop constant Firefox freezes on Mac OSX? Safari doesn't have the same problem, so it can't be the computer.

My IMac, using OS X 10.6.6, works well and quickly - until I use Firefox. Almost every command I give leads to a freeze that lasts from a few seconds to a couple of minutes - sometimes with and sometimes without the whirling beachball. This is true no matter what website I'm on. I've used Firefox for years and never had this problem before. What can I do to fix this problem?

I have an Idea for you.. Stop using MAC! I'm a PC user and I've never had any problem with firefox or any other program being "incompatible." Can you guess why? Because people design programs like firefox and pretty much everything else around WINDOWS.

Thought I would try out the new Maps app.  On a short trip, no turn-by-turn voice directions.  That is why I raised this question.  I would think that Apple would make that clear in the instructions for Maps.app.
