What do I need to host a webpage?

I'm thinking of hosting a personal web page myself without having to go through an ISP. I'd also want e-mail to go with it. I was thinking of using a mac mini or something to do it with. Is that possible and what would I need? I'm currently getting web access via Verizon and my e-mail goes through a private ISP. If I cannot act as my own ISP, what ISPs would allow me to run a host on my own (And I have no idea if this makes sense or is just gibberish.)

Not sure what you are saying, what printer? what laptop? what network? what have you tried? but it sounds like you do not have the printer driver for the printer you use, on your laptop.
Find the make and model and go to their website and look for the Mac Printer software and install it.
Perhaps you do have it installed but haven't found it. Look down the list next to Printer: in the print dialog.
I assume you have found the envelope templates in Pages' Template Chooser?

Are you talking about the English dictionary? Mine seems to work ok on the AZ republic web page. Does yours not work on all webpages? Does it not work when you type an English word in Notes and then do select and define?

DRIVER:    GENERAL
BEARER: LPR <-----------------------------( NOT SURE IF IT IS THE CORRECT OPTION TO SELECT )
The following fields appear once LPR is selected:
ACCES POINT : HOME
HOST:              WHAT COMES HERE?
USER:              SKY00BER
QUEUE:            WHAT COMES HERE?
ORIENTATION: PORTRAIT
PAPER SIZE: A4

I'm not sure but I give it a try.Turn your security(WPA/WEP) and Firewall temporarely off. HOST is the IP address of the printer. QUEUE can be YES or a specific amount of prints, like 1,2,3......
If I look at the manual of your printer I see that you can find the IP and MAC addresses in the Network Configuration Report.I don't know what the USER is doing there because if there is a user then there must be a password.

I'm having to guess at which iMac you have. This forum covers three older variants of the iMac family that were made from 1998-2005 with three different processor types.
If yours has a G-series processor, it can run neither Lion 10.7 nor Snow Leopard 10.6. If the processor is a G5 or a G4 (must be faster than 867mHz( you can install Leopard 10.5. If your plan is to reinstall the OS before turing over the computer, let us know which iMac you have (doing "About this Mac" from the Apple menu will give the processor type--that will do for this purpose)
If "About this Mac" says you have an Intel processor, you have a much newer iMac. Let us know and I can ask the Hosts to move it to that separate forum.
If you wish to maintain control over the computer, you can go to System Preferences > Accounts and set up a new standard account. The user logged into that acct can pretty much use anything installing in that account but cannot install new software or modify the system. That means less chance of something bad getting on the computer but also means they wil be asking you to help install stuff as they won't have access.
If you wish to give the kids full control, set up a new account with admin priveleges, then either strip content form your account and leave it, or simply delete it once you are satisfied that the new accout is working.

I have finished producing two websites. One of the websites is a personal website which holds all the films that I have helped produce. It is basically a CV for people to look at on the internet. It will be a large sized website, not sure how large it will be, but basically need a lot of space for it, I would imagine. I have also finished producing a website for a dentist practice which has over 500 pages. Its current size is 150MB but I have a feeling that I will be adding four images per page to the site, which will increase the size. Anyways, these have both been created with iWeb and I was wondering what is the best web host to publish these with? Now that MobileMe has gone and iCloud won't publish websites anymore, is there a certain web host that all of the iWeb users have rushed to to publish their sites? I have looked at a lot of the hosts and they all seem confusing and their own business websites look confusing, which puts me off buying from them. I am looking for the cheapest host, that would allow me to host two website, so the dentist website and my own personal website, with no bandwidth limit or disk space limit. I have read the small print on two of the 'best' web hosts that say that they have 'unlimited' bandwidth and disk space and they say that it is not unlimited and they will either charge me more for exceeding the limit or they will shut the website down. The problem is that they don't state what their limit is so I am guessing that it is a scam. They are also only charging around £2 per month, which is fine but you have to buy like 2 years with them for that price. I don't want to do that. Would prefer it if there was a host that has a free trail, even if it is as little as 24 hours trial. Would also like to not be tied in for longer than 1 year. I would also like a host that has the domain names included in the price.
Overall, this is all getting too confusing for me and there is so much to take in. I just want to know, what is everyone doing now that MobileMe has shut down and iCloud does not allow Web Publishing?

What fonts are needed in Safari

Some websites have type in certain areas that looks like symbol or greek. I found some suggestions by other writers but no one said what fonts I need to view webpages correctly. This problem is recent and I may have a conflict with other fonts that I'm using.
Maybe I haven't removed enough. Can someone tell me what stays and what goes and where to eliminate, like which library? I'm running Tiger 10.4.2.

The fonts to eliminate for sure are Helvetica Fractions and Times Phonetic, and all similar. Conflicting fonts are almost always located in Users/username/Library/Fonts (Apple doesn't put any there). The list is at

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
First, just confirming that you realize you can always access your AOL email account by going directly to www.aol.com from the Safari browser (or Firefox, Chrome, etc.) until you get the Apple Mail problem fixed.
If you cannot connect directly through a browser, it's quite possible that AOL is doing maintenance or having a temporary problem. It happens with surprising frequency to most online hosts. I usually check downrightnow.com, but AOL is not one of the services for which they collect trouble reports.
Reconnecting your Apple Mail to your AOL account:
In the Apple Mail menubar, click on the Mailbox, Get New Mail, and highlight the AOL account.
You should see the 'spinning wheel' next to the account name for a moment while your AOL mail is retrieved.
That should successfully reconnect you.
Occasionally my ISP seems to corrupt a few packets and I'll get a message that all my external email account password are rejected, and asks me to re-enter them. Instead of re-entering passwords, I click 'cancel', and use this same procedure to re-connect.
NOTE: I'm on Snow Leopard OS X 10.6, and Mail 4.5 (1084) but I believe the process to reconnect did not change since OS X 10.5 Leopard.

Ok, I've got an online IP forum which also sells forum based workshops. We are now including video in our online workshops and would like to find a solution to embed the videos in those areas to the forum where the user has paid for access.
We would also like to display 'how to' type videos where anyone can see in forum posts.
We would like it to have the option to expand into full screen.
None of these videos are 'live' so they are all prerecorded. I'm also thinking that it would be nice to 'host' the videos elsewhere if possible as they likely take up alot of space. We have machighway hosting which isn't a huge amount of space and they state that they don't allow 'quicktime streaming' which makes me wonder if they will block us from any other type of streaming.
I was directed to adobes server products but I am completely lost at what I would need or what they are even. I'd like a really simple plug/play solution in a perfect world but the more I look around the less likely this seems possible

Designing a client side requirement like full screen video, video embedding all sort of things are not part of FMS. Though a good webdesigner or flash expert can do all this for you..
FMS solves other part of your problem, for example pre-recorded video streaming. You may either use RTMP (stick to flash player as client) or HTTP ( can be used for viweing on iOS, Flash based devices)..
I recommend you first try the developer edition of the FMS to get the feel how it can streaming your videos on RTMP or HTTP.. This is free edition with some restricted access on number of clients or viewing time.. Just video streaming will work out of box for you..
1. Jjust install FMS.
2. Keep you videos inside Applications/vod/media for RTMP or webroot/vod for HTTP
3. You may use the video player that comes with FMS (within sample/videoplayer) to play these videos..
You may then think of developing some client application/website like sample video player which can play your videos..
