What do I need to post online video of digital art being created?

I have yet to use my iMovie 09, so utter newbie with that program. I want to post video online of my desktop as I create a painting in Corel Painter. I see the videos of other artists who are doing this, where you view their desktop, and watch art created from start to finish. What is likely a 5 or 6 hour process is compressed into about 5 minutes, so film is very fast. It looks like it's a simple process, but I can't seem to find instructions anywhere. How do I film my desktop action? Thanks to all who help!

You can capture your Desk-top full screen with Quicktime (X) Look at Archive->new screencapture.
If you like more professional tools look at f.e. "Screenflow"
http://www.telestream.net/screen-flow/overview.htm
Which has enormous possibilities, but comes at a cost
or Snapzpro
http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzprox/
Also at a cost
There are other tools as well, google for "screencast"

  • What code is needed to play mp4 video in IE9

I have been everywhere looking for a solution to this. I only get references which talk about what the problems, the issues, and what needs to be done but does not provide the actual html code that should be inserted into DW that will actually make it work in IE9.
I place .mp4, .ogv, .webm code that works in Chrome, Apple, Android, and Firefox browsers but NOT IE9. Can anyone help with this? It has been a very frustrating experience.
    Thanks!

    Hi Hans,
I try and am happy to acknowledge the help.
I am an interactive course developer who has worked with Flash for over 12 years. It has been super for both the desktop and the web for my clients. I was able to produce one set of data that worked in all environments. Now that the Flash player in browsers is going away I must recreate the courses in html5. I have been using multi media since the beginning and now I find so many roadblocks for even the simple things that Flash handled automatically. Video is a prime example.
Unfortunately all of the courses I have developed for the customers are proprietary to their internal workforce and I am unable by contract to share any. Sorry!
In the example you provided, the video pops up in a separate player floating off the main page. Is it possible to embed the video in the page like the other formats I must use such as webm and ogv?

  • What accessory is needed to move 8mm Video Cassettes to my I MAC?

Wanting to move all my 8mm Video Cassettes to MAC. Is there a special accessory that will help the transition?

    Imac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

In my case, I have a Sony Digital8 camcorder which will play back older analog 8mm and Hi8 tapes, digitize them on the fly and send them to the Mac via the firewire cable.
Also many other digital camcorders feature a "pass thru" mode which will allow you to hook an older analog camcorder or VCR into the digital camcorder which then hooks to the Mac via Firewire. You play the old analog footage and the digital camcorder acts as a analog-to-digital converter and bridge.
So if you dont already have a digital camcorder, these are two types you might look into which will give you the ability to digitize those old tapes and upgrade to a new digital model.
Otherwise, there are various converters on the market, but of course they are not camcorders, so you would still have to use your old analog camcorder and then convert with the device.

  • What product we need on the server to pre-populate XFA form created using LiveCycle Designer?

We run our web applications on IBM Lotus Notes/Domino server (Version 8.5.3). I need to figure out what is that specific server component that we need to install on our server just to pre-populate data on to the XFA forms. (We don't need to merge PDF files, or attach any workflow, or submit data entered in the XFA forms to any web server.)
I understand that Adobe LiveCycle ES4 is a suite of products that does a lot more than what we need to do. So, in that suit of products which specific product is that we need to buy & install on our server that enables us to use java code to populate data on to the XFA forms. Also, will that server component work on IBM Lotus Notes/Domino server or is it only going to work on a J2EE server?
    I appreciate a response. Thanks.

I am sorry, but I am still confused. Out of the following modules of Adobe LiveCycle, which one is that I need to do the filling of the PDF forms.
    Forms Standard and Pro
    Reader® Extensions
    Process Management
    ECM Connectors
    Correspondence Management
    Output
    PDF Generator
    Rights Management
    Digital Signatures
Do I have to install the entire suite or just one of these will be enough for filling data?

At http://www.istockphoto.com you can get photos up to XXXLarge
To put this into perspective here is the sizings for each size they offer on the website:
    Size
    Pixels
    Uses
    XSmall
    425x281
    Small web photo
    Small
    850x562
    Large web photo
    Medium

  • What do you need to get video output to external monitor

    Hello,
I'm fairly new to Color and have read a few posts that color can't be viewed by firewire to an external monitor. Basically what I have right now for external viewing in FCP is a JVC SR-VS30 Mini DV NTSC deck with firewire connected to my computer. From the deck it goes to a small TV set and a Sony Trinitron PVM color video monitor. What do I need extra to be able to see my color correction in Color on an external monitor. BTW in Color currently the Video Output tab in Setup>User Prefs is grayed out showing Disabled. I suppose that when I get whatever I need to see Color on an external monitor that this tab would NOT be grayed out or would I have to set some other settings.
    Thanks.

Well, you can waste a lot of time and money trying to get your old iron up to speed but the sad fact is, even though it may work with Color, it will most likely end in a less than satisfactory experience all around. You need to determine if your G5 has PCI, PCI-x or PCIe slots and then purchase the appropriate cards.
However, Final Cut Studio 2 is optimized for the Intel processors. You will see users here and there using the newest models G5 with great success but quite honestly, you need a Mac Pro.
Or just purchase the Aja IO/HD which is a firewire 800 interface and the only firewire device that will preview externally Color.

  • What do I need to transfer video and audio from my 2009 Macbook to my television?

I want to watch a movie with my family tonight, but the DVD is broken. I was planning on renting the movie online and transferring the video and audio from my Macbook to the television. What cables will I need to accomplish this? Also, does anyone know, were I to use a Windows instead, would transferring the audio be simpler? (And what would I need to do that?)

Try doing it without a cable!
    Use AirDrop, described here:

UPDATE - Oh, sorry, I see the article points out the MacBook is too old for AirDrop.

  • Why do online videos start and stop and what to do about it

why do online videos start and stop and what to do about it

It usually means a slow internet connection, or inadequate hardware or both.
It is not a 10.6 problem as such as 10.6 handles video streaming quite well.
In your post this tag seems incongruous in this 10.6 category.

  • I would like to download videos from websites faster. What do I need?

I would like videos that I see on websites to download faster. What do I need to add to my system to allow that to happen? I have an eMac G4 with 512 MB of Ram, running on OS 10.4. I use Firefox as my browser. I'm connected via cable modem running at 256 Kbps.
I was told by an Apple store employee that I needed more RAM. I read an article online from MacWorld and nowhere did they mention added RAM would help with video downloads. Any suggestions?

The primary issue for download speed is the connection to your ISP. 256 kbps is slow by today's standards if you want to download video. It's really only good enough for email and some browsing. You should be looking at a service delivering not less than 1.5 Mbps. I think your computer would cope adequately with this speed but extra RAM is certainly advantageous. The RAM is important for the processing of the video as it downloads and plays. I presume you also have an adequate hdd to keep this video on.
I have a 512 Kbps service and this is not good enough for video download - it doesn't keep up with the play speed of a video feed.

  • What adapter/converter do I need to put GoPro videos onto iPad

What adapter/converter do I need to put GoPro videos from my iMac to my iPad?

What file type are the videos? If you have converted them to GoPro video format, iMovie should be able to convert the video to a format that con be used by the iPad.
H.264 videos output by the camera may be able to be used by the iPad by directly importing them from the camera to the iPad with Apple's Camera Connection Kit.

  • HT2518 I am trying to move across & view my home movie clips from my PC to Mac, but I can't view them.  What do I need to have installed on the MAC to view such files? (Originally put onto the MAC from a Canon video camera)

I am trying to move across & view my home movie clips from my old PC to my new Mac but I am unsure what software I need to view them.  They are from a Canon video camera originally.  Please advise how this is done!

Do they have a file extension?
How about anything on the camera which might indicate what it is, like AVCHD?
