What do I need to run airplay?

I've been researching this for weeks and I'm just confused. Please help.
What I want to do:
I want to play the songs off my iMac on my stereo in the next room and also be able to access those songs on a separate iMac (in another room, obvs).
I want to control it through my iPhone using Remote.
I may also, at a later date, want to run films and photos from the iMac to the telly (once I buy one)
What I have:
2 x iMacs (different rooms, obvs)
iPhone 4S with Remote app
An iMac remote control
Airport Extreme (not in use)
Wi-Fi (courtesy of BT Home Hub 3)
Why I'm confused:
I thought it could all be sorted with an Apple TV, then I read somewhere I'd probably also need Aiport Express.
THEN
Someone told me all I needed was the Airport Extreme instead
THEN
Another person told me the Wi Fi I have would be sufficient
I have come to the all-knowing Apple Discussions for the precise explanation.

  • What do I need to run Windows on a Mac and Word for Windows?

"I have a Mac OS X Lion and would like to run Windows programs which are only programmed to run on Windows."
Your best bet is to use VirtualBox to provide a virtual machine capability allowing the installation of a guest OS like windows. I've used VB extensively for years and I highly recommend it's use for your issue.
If you have a full version of windows, you could use bootcamp as an alternative to VB but you lose the ability to access the OSx environment while booted in windows.
    Best of luck

  • FI-AA Depreciation  Run :what does I need to run depreciation (AFAB trans.)

I don´t know what I need to run depreciation, I have create a fixed asset, and I have done a posting f-90 , and afterwards I want to execute depreciation but I cannot ¿what does I need to do this ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Olga.

    Hi,
First of all before running depreciation you need to give the required GL accounts needed for posting the depreciation to the GL accounts in T.Code AO90.
Then after doing the required configurations u can run a depreciation run only in the month end or in the next month for the previous month.
If u had posted transactions to an asset using F-90 say suppose in october, u can do the depreciation in the month of october or in the coming month.
    hope it is clear.

  • What do I need to run FCS 2?

I posted this question in a different forum (Content creation with Final Cut Studio) but received no replies.
I'm hoping that posting it elsewhere will net me better results.
I recently bought FCS2, knowing that I was more than likely going to have to do some major upgrading to my mac to be able to use it. Especially the graphics card.
Now that I have FCS 2, I'm now worried that my mac just won't be the right kind no matter how much upgrading I do, but I could be wrong.
So here I am asking for some advice. My current system is a Power Mac G5 The processor is a Power PC Dual 1.8 GHz. 4 GB DDR SDRAM memory, which I believe is the max memory for this system. My optical drive is an internal Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-117D. Graphics card which I know needs to be upgraded is an nVidia GeForce FX 5200 with 64 MB VRAM (very sluggish with motion), and my display is the 23 inch apple cinema display.
So, am I just going to have to consider purchasing a new Intel G5, or is there some hope for this machine?
What I use it for now is just basic DV and using iDVD to burn DVD's since I haven't learned DVD studio pro yet. I plan, (after some learning) to get into HD video and DVD's which makes me think that I may need a new optical drive also.
Can anyone give some advice on the best upgrades needed for this, or am I out of luck?
Message was edited by: Bobby Merkle

Sounds to me like you're fine. You meet all the system requirements, and I know many around here that still use G5 systems. Just upgrade your card to an x1900, and you'll have a fully capable system for what you're doing. Also, make sure your monitor is at least 17" if you ever plan to utilize Color.
BTW: No such thing as an Intel G5. They are called Intel C2Ds.

  • What do I need to run/use JSF ??

Sorry for a rather dumb question. We have a client/server system we would like to convert into a Web Based app using JSF.. we developed our system on J2SE 1.4
    1. What software/runtime environment do I need ?
    2. What downloads must I grab to start using it ??
    Thanks very much
    Mike

    Hi,
first you'll need the JSF (latest current release EA3) found under:
    http://java.sun.com/j2ee/javaserverfaces/
then an application server, e.g. tomcat/catalina supplied with the JWDSP and the J2EE platform found at:
    http://java.sun.com/webservices/downloads/webservicespack.html
    and
    http://java.sun.com/j2ee/download.html
    respectively.
Having installed the JSF you'll find a JSF Spec and tutorial where everything else (configuration, etc.) is explained.
If you're experiencing problems with the JWSDP 1.1 try getting hold of JWSDP 1.01.
    Good luck & have fun....

  • What do I need to run a compiled vrsn of a serial interface ?

I compiled and successfully ran the compiled verson of an app. with a serial interface on a WIN2000 computer with the full LabVIEW development suite.
I installed the LabVIEW runtime engine only on a target computer (running WIN2000) and when I tried to run the app. got the following error -
arning -1073807202 occurred at an unidentified location.
    Possible reasons:
VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF009E) A code library required by VISA could not be located or loaded.

    You have to install NI-VISA.
It is possible to avoid this seperate install by including all of the required support files.
I believe there is a knowledge base article that lists all of the files that need to be included in your build.

  • With Labview what do I need to run vi's on computers without Labview installed

With Labview, how can I install my VI's on another computer to run them with runtime eng. Do I need additional software or ?

On your development computer, click on Tools -> Build Application or Shared DLLs. Select Application and fill in the rest of the boxes with proper information (click Help button for more info). When all info is correctly filled, click on Build button. This will create an EXE file. On the other computer, install the Labview runtime engine. You can do this by using your regular Labview developer CD. Run the setup program but, when prompted for items to install, uncheck everything except the runtime engine box. Proceed with setup. This will install only the runtime engine on your target computer. Transfer your EXE file to the target computer. Run the EXE file, it should work.

  • What Do I Need To Run A External Moniter with a Macbook Pro?

I have a Mac Book Pro 13in Mid 2009 Model. I replaced the RAM to 8GB, I have an HDMI Converter cable to plug my mac book into my 21in moniter, but it seems like it is still lagging behind, with internet connection but the screen just cant keep up or something. Is that a graphics card issue or is there something else that I need to improve the video on my monitor.

    JimmyCheckers,
there’s not enough information to say for sure. If you watch a video which lags on your external monitor on your built-in display instead, does the lagging cease, or is the lagging also observable on the built-in display? If you completely download a video onto your internal disk before watching it, does it still lag on the external monitor? Does it lag on the built-in display?

  • What grants needed to run APEX Object Reports?

    APEX 3.0
    Oracle 9.2.0.7
    Solaris 8
The Apex workspace administrator account is unable to run the APEX Object Reports.
The returned error states the account has no privileges on the APEX_MYAPP schema.
What grants are needed for running the APEX Object Reports, and on what objects?
    Thank you.

Yes, the "APEX_MYAPP" was a generic name. The error message actually mentions "APEX_IARS". I began by trying to limit the details of our installation. Just confused things.
There are two other workspaces defined: another application-building workspace, "comres_ws", and one called "APEX_SAMPLE_APPS".
The apex_iars workspace had two schemas assigned to it: iars and comres.
The comres_ws workspace has just one schema assigned to it: comres.
Thinking that for some reason the association of two schemas to the apex_iars workspace might be causing a problem -- although it has not in the past, I deleted the association of the comres schema from the apex_iars workspace so that now each workspace, the apex_iars workspace and the comres_ws workspace, just have a single schema. This did not fix anything with the apex_iars workspace. The "privileges" error still occurs.
I logged onto the comres_ws workspace and tried to access the Utilities/Object Reports, and the SQL Commands, and all this works fine, no errors at all.
I then logged onto the apex_iars workspace again and tried the Object Reports and SQL Commands and still get the error:
ORA-20000: User <my_use_name> rhas no privileges on the apex_iars schema.
Does it look like something is messed up for the apex_iars workspace? Are there APEX dictionary tables that may have incorrect or corrupt information for this workspace?

  • What do I need to compile and run Servlets and JSP?

    Hi there,
What do I need to run Servlets and JSP? I am developing on a Windows platform.
As far as I know, Tomcat and JDK is needed. My JDK (1.3rc1) cannot seem to compile servlet files (javax.servlet.* not found)
    Can anyone please advise?
    Thank you in advance.

If you mean "in a month", then the answer is "afaik, no.", sorry.
If you need something comfortable, you better should buy one of these heavy-weighters like Weblogic, or WebSphere. Cost some $$$$'s, though (between 2000-10000. I guess).
For servlets (and ejb's too), there is no "easy and quick" solution. You probably should think about buying a freelancer or such, which already has the appropriate know-how.

  • What Solaris packages are needed to run WebLogic 5.1?

Solaris by default comes with 4 installation methods, namely core, end-user,
developer, full. In comparison, full consists of 300+ solaris packages and
core about 30+. I was wondering if there are any docs lying around on
specifcally what packages are required of Solaris 2.6 by Weblogic 5.1. Would
greatly appreciate any help here. Thx
    Rgrds,
    Wong.

Acckk a full installation is bad... real bad for security in a production
env. You guys should investigate thoroughly exactly what packages are needed
to run JVM. There are a lot of useless binaries/libs in a full Solaris
installation. For the record, I installed a core installation + two packages
(required by JDK). The thing works anyhow... but I thought BEA would have
some guidelines on a Solaris installation for host security. I mean, even
M$ have guidelines on running IIS securely, and apache have theirs long ago.
Any of you guys ever tried stripping Solaris to run weblogic??
    Rgrds,
    Wong.

We certify with full installations, but others may work as well. The
ability to run the JVM is the biggest factor.

  • I am a Media Pastor at a church and am needing to find a Macbook that will fulfill the needs of running Final Cut Pro and Wirestream. What Macbook would be sufficient to do the job?

I am needing some guidance on the purchase of a Macbook Pro. I am wanting to have Wirestream Pro 4, a live streaming/recording software, and Final Cut Pro 7 and am needing to see what i would need to run them as far as drive capacity etc.

The top end MacBook Pro 15" (17" high res/anti-glare for full 1080 HD screen)  for mobile video needs with some restrictions and hinderances, you will need the Build to Order 7,200 RPM drive for sure as you need space and speed.
You can have 8GB of RAM from Apple or place 16GB in yourself for a lot less than Apple charges for 8GB. However you need to be handy with tiny screws, or have a local specialist do the 16GB for you.
Your probally better off with a MacPro than a MacBook Pro.
The MacPro is more powerful, and easier to get inside and do things, lasts longer, more ports, more drives, more storage for video, fast external RAID 5 setups etc.
So if you can get into a MacPro, that would be a better option for video.
