What do icons indicate in the screensaver source list?

On my system, I have both Aperture and iPhoto, each with lots of photos.  When I open the screensaver pref panel, many questions arise if I try to pick out something from the large number of folder, events, project, etc.  Is there a place to find out which icons come from which image database?

Well I do not have Aperature. Here is what I see under iPhoto- They all appear to be labeled,  so maybe I do not understand the problem.

what does hsdpa indicates on the status bar on my IPhone 4s?

It's a type of cellular network that is supported by the iPhone.
High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) is an enhanced 3G (third generation) mobile telephony communications protocol in the High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) family, also dubbed 3.5G, 3G+ or turbo 3G, which allows networks based on Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) to have higher data transfer speeds and capacity. Current HSDPA deployments support down-link speeds of up to 42 Mbit/s. Further speed increases are available with HSPA+, which provides speeds of up to 337 Mbit/s with Release 11 of the 3GPP standards.[1]

  • Photo stream is showing up in iphoto recent but not web and I am not able to join the shared photo stream.  all of my software is updated.  can someone tell me how to get photo stream in the web source list? thanks!

Can someone help me get Photo Stream to appear under Web in the iPhoto Source List? I have updated all my software.  iPhoto 11, Mac OS X 10.7.5  All of my preferences are checked.  I am able to see the shared Photo Stream on my iPad, but not my Mac.  The Mac iPhoto photos from the shared photo stream are appearing in the Photo Stream (under Recent), but I thought they would appear as a shared Photo Stream in its own file/album (like on the iPad and iPhone)  - labeled with the shared Photo Stream's title.  Is this supposed to happen on the Mac?  Thanks!

So you are saying for it to do what i want: shared photo stream to appear in web then i need to upgrade.
    Yes
Does that mean i purchase the new software an it's not just an update?
    Yes
Your profile indicates your running 10.7.5.  For shared Photo Streams you need to be running 10.8.2 or later: The following is from  iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ
What do I need to use Photo Stream?
To use Photo Stream, including Shared Photo Streams, you need an iCloud account, compatible devices, and up-to-date software:  iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 6.0 or later Mac with OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.2 or later and iPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later
So you'll need to upgrade to Mt. Lion.
iPhoto requirements are free updates for iPhoto '11

  • Typing in languages that are not found in the input source list

I cannot type in languages outside the input source list. I cannot find the "keyboard layout" folder to add them to in Mavericks 10.9.3. Anyone know how to do this? I'm specifically trying to add a Coptic and Syriac keyboard.

    Abda disho wrote:

With the Option key depressed, do Finder > Go > Library.  You should see the Keyboard Layouts folder in this list that appears.
I assume you understand already that you have to download coptic and syriac keyboard layouts from the internet so you can put them in that folder?

  • How can I remove Facebook from the iPhoto source list?

Lately when I use iPhoto it will not let me quit and I have to force quit. I recently moved to college where there are several separate internet routers. I realized I still had iPhoto sharing turned on from using it at home and thought that might be messing it up, but even after I turn off sharing it will not let me quit. I think it is a problem with Facebook because it asks, "still syncing would you like to stop and quit?" whenever I try to quit the program. I would like to just remove Facebook from my source list, but I can't figure out how. It used to ask me to sign in to Facebook if I wanted to upload pictures but now it doesn't so I have no idea how to make it quit syncing.

I found the solution in the community
    Solution 1
Mac OS: Run the uninstaller in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder to remove the program listed as up-to-date.
Windows: Use the Programs And Features Control Panel to remove the program listed as up-to-date.

  • How to get rid of an iTunes library in the ATV source list?

I had my MacBook Prop stream over to Apple TV, but then I formatted the MBP and have since re-paired it with the ATV... Since my iTunes library has the same name, they both show up in the source list on my ATV but the previous source is always greyed out... How can I remove it from the list?
    Thanks,
    Keith

If I understand your question correctly...
    try the following
from Sources, choose the greyed out streaming library that you want to be rid of...in your case, make sure it is the right one, since they both have the same name.
You should get a screen that says "Library Unavailable" with 2 menu choices below that, "OK" and "Disconnect from iTunes".
Choose disconnect from iTunes and the library should be gone from your Sources.

  • Finding "iPod" on the iTunes Source list

Sometimes when I view the Source list on iTunes (at the left of the entry screen) I see IPod and I can drag tunes from the iTunes Library to the iPod. But other times I do not see the "iPod" entry on the list. Often (maybe always?) if I disconnect the iPod from the pc, the "iPod" listing returns. _
Why is that happening? Surely there must be a better way to restore the "i{pd" listing than disconnecting and reconnecting the cable? Help. please.

Would someone tell me how this is "simply" done? Thanks.

I have tried to move the songs numerous times this way and it doesnt work. Separately oddly enough also, songs that I deleted from the itunes music folder on my computer still show up in my Shared folder in itunes. Guess no "refresh" functionality.

  • My ipod is recognised in my computer but not in the itunes source list

    Please Help.
I got my ipod (20gb) as a Christmas present last year. It is now 11 months old. I havent had many problems with it but recently one has arisen.
I connected my ipod to my windows computer. It displayed 'Do not disconnect'. After waiting for about 2 minutes i realised that itunes had not recognised my ipod. I disconnected it and connected it again. The same thing happened. I checked 'my computer' and saw that the ipod had been recognised, i asume (hopefully correctly) that my ipod is not faulty.
I visited the apple website and went on their support page where i tryed everything that it advised at leat 3 times. I am well and truly stuck.
I am only 14 and was a bit shocked at the £35 i would have to pay to ask apple for help. I therefore hoped that some nice people on the discussion forum might help.
I have helped people before as i am usually quite efficient when it comes to using a computer.
Please help, It would be much appreciated
Im posting this on a Friday night so have a nice weekend.
    Thank You

Try Resetting Your iPod while it's connected to the computer.
Hold down the Menu and Select buttons until you see the Apple logo (or Menu & Play/Pause in older models).
This will often get it recognized. It may take several attempts.
Also try this (and the other suggestions below) from any other USB port you may have on the PC. Sometimes switching USB ports can make all the difference.
If that doesn't work, Put Your iPod into Disk Mode then plug it in and you should be able to Restore the iPod

  • How can I get rid of all the 'adobe' sources listed when importing in Lightroom?

How can I get these files to eject/disappear? I have tried searching them in finder and can't find them? Thank you.

Those appear to be disk-image files (extension .DMG) somewhere on your hard drive, perhaps that are mounted as volumes and you need to eject or unmount them.  They are likely installers downloaded from Adobe.

  • Photos tab is not selectable in the source list iPod nano

    Dear all,
Could you please help me out? I want to import photos on my iPod nano (3rd generation). I want to do this by dragging a folder to the iPod in the sources list in iTunes, but I do not succeed.
The 'photos' tab does not appear when I collapse the 'iPod' in the source list in iTunes. What is wrong?
Thank you for your answer (in advance.)

*I want to do this by dragging a folder to the iPod in the sources list in iTunes, but I do not succeed.*
You can't add photos the same way as you add music, you have to choose the folder in the photos tab.
The 'photos' tab does not appear when I collapse the 'iPod' in the source list in iTunes. What is wrong?
The photos tab isn't in the source list, it's one of the preference tabs that appear in the main window when you click on the iPod icon in the source list.
Here's a simple "How To" on downloading photos from a folder on your hard disk to an iPod:
1 Create a folder on your hard drive to hold the photos you want on your iPod. Call it iPod Photos for example
2 Drag the photos you want from your usual picture folder into the folder you just created
2 Open iTunes, select your iPod in the iTunes Source list.
3 Click the Photos tab and select “Synch photos from.”
4 Choose “Choose Folder” from the pop-up menu and select the iPod photos folder you created.
On a small device like the 2GB Nano I would tend to leave the "Include Full Resolution photos" box unchecked as these will take up a lot of space on the iPod and are only useful if you want to copy photos from one computer to another. iTunes will add "optimised", small TV quality versions of the photos to the iPod for you to view.
iTunes will add "optimised", small TV quality versions of the photos to the iPod for you to view. if you want to include full size photos so you can move them from one computer to another check the "Include Full Resolution photos" box. When you want to change the photos on the iPod you simply add or remove the photos you want from your iPod Photos folder and sync the iPod.

  • Screensaver source: Picture loading issue!

After upgrading my MacMini to Yosemite I started having this issue. The Screensaver source is loading for a while and then shows an error message on the screen telling that was not able to connect to the NAS (network drive).  so no pictures are loaded and the dropdown list is empty so I cannot change the source to the standard options like National Geographic pics or the others.  I also noticed that iPhoto folder is not present in my screensaver desktop picture folders like it is in my MBpro.
I have been trying to solve this issue and no luck yet, I re-installed Yosemite, re-installed iPhoto, I removed several plists (screensaver, desktop, systempreferences, etc. ) and I am still dealing with the same issue. Something I have done recently looks like does something but at the end the system went back to the same state (I rebuilt iPhoto database, during the rebuilding process the screensaver started working as expected, but when the re-build finished everything went wrong again). I called AppleCare and the first technician was not able to help and the line for the Genius technician was so busy that I was not able to wait that long. So I guess there is a lot of people having problems with Yosemite or iOS8.
Does anyone have a clue about how to fix this issue?  My next move is to bring my MacMini to the AppleStore.
    Thanks,
    wfpindiana

I solved the problem by creating a new library in iPhoto and removing the current library. However, create a backup of your pictures if you are using iPhoto as your photo album / organizer, this will kill the whole library and its contents.  For creating a new library hold the option key while opening iPhoto. I found that my problem was an issue with the Desktop & Screensaver pane trying to open the iPhoto library. Looks like I had a corrupted file or photo in it.  The following link explains how to fix the iPhoto link but if it does not work for you as it did not work for me, you might need to do what I did, create a new iPhoto library.
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/TS1192
You can also try to repair the library using the repair tool in iPhoto, but that did not work for me neither.
    So, good luck!
