What do most people use for metrics ?

My employer uses KSLOC as a software development measurement. Of course this means that LabVIEW doesn't play in the game.  What do most folks use to measure workload?

Hey Ben,
It's a good idea, especially if you limit sub-vi's to a single computer screen (typically 19" at 1152X864)
Here in Canada, ham is typically sold by the litre..

Can anyone tell me what most people use for a  privacy setting in Adobe Flash Player. I feel as though i want to use the "block all sites" option but i don't know if that is wise. Can anyone offer advice?

    Aperture 1.0.1
Then Aperture 1.1 — we're in for a real treat.
Ailan, 99.9999 percent of the time I use ambient light to shoot (as oppose to using my studio lighting and backdrops) so the lighting conditions are constantly changing, I then load the images into Aperture do a little composition crop, levels, sharpen maybe and then print or post to web.
It is the same thing I was doing in another application but was much slower. I now have a life thanks to Aperture instead of sitting in front of a computer waiting for the application <cough>Photoshop</cough> to do its thing.

  • What format do I use for internal drive?

I want to install a new internal harddrive into my Macbook.  What format should I use for it?
    Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    Mac OS Extended
    Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled)
    Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive)
    MS-DOS (FAT)
    ExFAT
I know MS-DOS(FAT) is what I should use for external to work on mac and windows.  Can't remember which to use for the internal.  I have an Intel-based Mac.
    Thanks for your help.

I use SuperDuper for cloning my OSX volumes and it does not change the size of the destination partition to the size of the source partition.
So, you can make the destination partitions size to your liking and the cloning will not change it afterwards.
Keep in mind that SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner cannot clone a BootCamp Windows partition to a new harddisk, only OSX partitions.
But Parallels doesn't need to have a Windows partitions but is mostly just two files plus the Parallels app on your OSX partition.
And therefor it would be cloned with the rest of the OSX.

  • Source patching and track targeting, What is it mainly used for?

Im reading adobe premier pro cc in a classroom book, and I still dont understand what source track and target track mean, or atleast what they are mainly used for.
    Why do people use it?
In what work scenario is it mainly used in?

ShooterNZ is right as far as Source Patching. It's intended chiefly for controlling which track(s) a clip lands on when inserted via shortcut, although it also affects behavior when dragging content to the timelines.
Track targetting controls the Timeline's behavior for a variety of editing and selection actions. For example, the shortcut D selects one or more clips at the playhead. Try parking the playhead over two or more clips stacked in the Timeline, then target various combinations of tracks and see what happens when you press "D."

  • How to tell what recovery point was used for restore

Is there a way to determine what recovery point was used for a restore after the restore was started.

The question comes from the experience of having a package installed but not being able to build it from the same PKGBUILD (due to nontrivial issues). The package must have been built successfully by *a* build system, so ideally one would want to replicate that build. The relevant differences I could think of are the compiler flags and to a lesser extent the hardware build platform.
You should describe these supposedly non-trivial issues. I've never experienced what you describe in my years using Arch, nor have I ever heard it suggested that the famously vanilla Arch packages are built using some sort of unconventional compiler flags. I have heard multiple developers say using highly modified CPU optimizations and modified linking and such are mostly pointless, however. So I'd bet a week's pay that the build system uses vanilla GCC with the default settings. Why would the thing that actually builds Arch Linux be the one part of the Arch ecosystem that doesn't abide by the Arch standards? Why would only some packages have library linking problems and such when all packages are built on the same machine against the same library versions---and thus the conditions resulting in a failed build would be identical to those in a successful build? I could be wrong, but I think you're on the wrong track. The quickest way to find out is to describe what the real problem is, not what you imagine the solution to be.

  • What is MultiMapping, what interface do we use for it?

What is MultiMapping, what interface do we use for it?

    Hello  Chaitanya,
    Refer the following blogs
    /people/jin.shin/blog/2006/02/07/multi-mapping-without-bpm--yes-it146s-possible
    /people/narendra.jain/blog/2005/12/30/various-multi-mappings-and-optimizing-their-implementation-in-integration-processes-bpm-in-xi
    /people/sudharshan.aravamudan/blog/2005/12/01/illustration-of-multi-mapping-and-message-split-using-bpm-in-sap-exchange-infrastructure
MultiMapping is a term referred to any mapping that has mutliple messages in your source or target.
    So, mappings like
    1. 1:N --> 1 source message and N target messages
    2. N:1 --> N source messages and 1 target messages
3 M:N --> M number of source messages and N number of target messages
    are referred as MultiMappins.
Mapping 1 can be achieved without BPM whereas others need to have a BPM.
    With Regards,
    Raju.

  • HT4341 from the apple travel adapter kit what adapter do you use for thailand

from the apple travel adapter kit what adapter do i use for thailand

I've used Apple a few times in the past for 4x6s (with iPhoto) and was really happy with the quality. There are other things about the service that frustrate me though. The shipping time was all over the place. Sometimes it would only take a week or two, other times over a month. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get Order Prints to work for iPhoto or Aperture anymore, so I'm looking for an alternative as well. Something that has an Aperture plug-in would be extra cool, if that exists...
In the meantime, I've just been printing at Wal-Mart or the local camera shop (when they have a sale). The quality isn't as good -- less definition in the prints -- but the order is always ready to pick-up within a couple of hours at the most (which beats getting no prints at all through Apple's service). And the nice thing is, the pictures are printed and boxed in the order they're uploaded. None of this "we print the smallest files first, as they download" silliness from Apple that causes you to have to sort all of your photos again while referencing the images on your computer if you want to put them in chronological order. Does Apple really expect me to believe their printers are just waiting to print my order the split second each image is downloaded? There's no staging process involved whatsoever? Give me a break. I love Apple, but things like this are so backwards from the whole "it just works" mantra that they love to use. Sorry for the rant! I'm a little frustrated with Apple's printing services at the moment (as I'm sure you can tell).
Anyway, you can always give your local Wal-mart a shot. Just do a small order and see how it turns out.

    Any recomendations

I have been using this free AU for a while now on the master track:
Slim Slow Slider: C3 Multi Band Compressor 1.2
    http://www.apulsoft.ch/freeports/
Scroll down the page from the above link to find the C3 Multi Band Compressor 1.2
    Features:
    Three stereo compressors.
    A master limiter.
Flexible dividing filters(ButterWorth Filter or LinearPhaseFIR Filter).
    Sampling Rate: 44.1k, 48k, 88.2k, 96k support.
    32bit float internal precision.
I really like it, however it does not come with a manual.

My Time Capsule won't allow my computer to back up.  It says it is already in use but that is what it is being used for. It has been working fine for years.  All of a sudden I keep getting a message that TC (time capsule) cannot complete back up as it is already in use.  I am doing the backups automatically through Time Capsule.

Restart the Time Capsule by disconnecting and reconnecting the power adapter. When it's back online, open the AirPort Utility application and check to see whether there's a firmware update for it.

  • How to find out what are the interfaces used for Job and Job Codes

    HI All,
I just wanted to know how do we find out what are the interfaces used for Job and Job codes .
    Thanks In Advance

    Hi,
Here is an idea for your request.
Basically you can create a simple query on multiprovider 0TCT_MC01.
Filter: you can use a variable for restriction of time ( calday, or calmonth) since you should be interested for a time period.
Choose following characters into your objects:
InfoProvider ( 0TCTIFPROV )  - you can create a variable for choosing infoprovider before query runs.
*Tp.[Type of BI Application Object] 0TCTBISOTYP  = filter this with 'QUERY' or whatever your need is.
*BI Application Object 0TCTBISBOBJ,  ( this will give you the name of the queries)
In key figures choose,  Count for BI Appl. (0TCTWTCOUNT).
    (number for query run)
    Create a condition , for top 20.
    Hope this helps.

    Benje001,
Right-click on the CWAI control on your form. Choose Properties. The first tab is the Channels tab. After you choose your device from the drop down box on the right, you can type in the Channels box which channel you want to use.
If you want to see a CWAI control that is already configured, all of the shipping examples will have this already done.
Also, if you have questions about any item on the CWAI (or any other NI ActiveX control) you can click the ? icon in the right corner of the properties page and then click on the item in the dialog that you need help with. This "What's this" help will describe that particular control on the dialog.
    Hope that helps!
