  • Three little dots

    Dear all
Does anyone know a way of stopping Lightroom doing it's three little dots thing when browsing thumbnails? While using it to browse or manage my images the machine slows to a crawl until it has finished.
In order to see my files and move them around I do not need the thumbnails to be fully optimised and waiting for them to sort themselves out is a major waste of time.
I am aware this feature will also need to be turned on when working on the photo's, perhaps a little tick box would do the trick.
I have "automatically write changes.." turned off.
    Best regards
    John Ponter

Render 'Standard Previews' and they ought to go away.
The ... indicates LR is building Standard Previews on the fly as you scroll.

Thanks for the help, Allan Sampson.
I updated itunes, shut the phone off and on, it still didn't give me blue bubbles. Kept following the suggestions on the page ...  I didn't know there was an IMessaging switch, but, shoot, it was OFF. Anyway, I toggled it on and now the text bubbles are blue again.

  • What are all the reasons why imessages turn into text messages...such as the recipient is talking on the phone, etc.?

    Hi,
What's the worst that I've spent 100 Eur alltogether for GPS map based applications for several sports - golf, bike, ski, etc. These applications use data from iPhone Map application and its disaster after my update onto iOS 6. These are pictures of 2 of my favorit golf resorts:
And here one example from a place where I use to bike:
    Very nice, isn't it?
And unfortunately this problem won't disappear even when Google put stand alone map application into iStore.
So I have only way to downgrade to 5.1.1 immediately to not throw away money I already spent.

  • Duplicates on calendar, what does purple and blue dots mean?

I was at a friends house on her wi if and all of a sudden I got duplicates on my calendar.  What do the blue and gray dots mean, which one do I delete?

Launch the calendars app on the iPad. Tap on the Calendars button in the upper left corner and then select - show All Calendars. You will see that the colors correspond to different events/calendars.
You have to decide which ones to delete after you look at the entries/events in the app.

  • Can anyone please tell me just exactly what each of these little pictures mean?

I've figured out a lot of them, true, but most of them remain somewhat unclear, and I have been completely unable to find a chart of these..... Anywhere!!!

    Hi Folks --
Just wanted to get back to y'all on this. After spending 2.5 hours following every lead you suggested as well as a whole bunch more I thought of, I just gave up, cursing (though in my most lady-like manner) the Gateway "Support" universe. As DonPick
may remember, I have had the same wholly unsatisfactory results dealing with them before.
So I guess where I'm at now is that I figure if I've done okay with them for a year and a half now, who needs them.
So thanks for kindness and helpfulness; there's no excuse for such a sucky support site.
Lily, I found the electronic downloadable manual for your Gateway NV56R. It's hard to place a direct link to it here (thanks Gateway :(
    - http://us.gateway.com/gw/en/US/content/drivers-downloads
    - In "Search by product model" type in: NV56R  (your model)
    - when NV56R is popped-up, click it
    - scroll down a little, and choose the "Documents" category
    - scroll down a little, and in the row named "User Manual", to the right, click the "Download" link
    - the zipfile of the manual will download - open that zipfile, it contains a PDF manual
    - the file is named UG_VG50HC_GW_02.01.02_ALL_Win8_20121005.pdf )
    - pages 18-22 seem to be what you are chasing
(as we discussed last time, whoever fixed your laptop seems to have removed all the pre-installed utilities and manuals, which was not helpful. Additionally, Gateway support is not meeting your [reasonable] expectations :(

  • What are those darn little blue boxes with

question marks? How do I get rid of them.
    Thanks

I just means the image could not be loaded. Maybe the server the image hosted is down, the URL to the image is not correct, or the browser timed out trying to load the image.
Only thing you can do about it is notify the webmaster and they will hopefully look into it.

  • Would I find it of use ... and what are those 2 little pins ?

Hi all ... in the photographs of the AE there are 2 pins poking out from the top end of the unit facing away from the camera ... is this a US telephone connection ? and if so what does the UK AE come with ? Where does it get it's power from ?
I have a wireless router (Netgear) which reaches far enough around the house for my PB and I'm not too fussed about the imusic playout facility so would the AE be of any use to me (I thought I could take it to Spain in the summer as the hotel we go to only has a telephone socket in the reception area ... so maybe I could plug the AE into that (it will exclude other users from that socket though)!
Sorry this is going on a bit ... I'll shut up now .... thanks for your time ... Roger

No problems Roger - but Ive slightly shortchanged you with my answer by implying that you can only use it in a hotel in Spain if they have wireless.
Of course if the hotel has wireless internet, then you would actually just use the Airport Card in your laptop to access their network.
The reason for having the Airport Express is if they don't have wireless. If the hotel provides broadband internet access via an ethernet cable in your room, you can plug their ethernet cable into your Express and then the Express into the electical outlet and have your own wireless network running.
The advantage with this is being able to have your PB where you like in the room and not stuck in the corner of the room with cabling a foot long.

  • HT204389 There used to be a little microphone icon in a text message that you could press and it would allow you to speak what you'd like to text and then it would write it into that text message.  That icon disapeared a few weeks back.  How can i get it

There used to be a small microhone icon while writing a text message which allowed you to speak the text you'd like then it would type it for you in the message.  I didnt have to use Siri, the icon was right in the text box itself.  That icon disapeared a few weeks ago.  Anyone have an idea how to get it back???

    Hi Grumpy_MoFo,
Thank you for posting. Having read you post, I do think it will be unlikely that we will be able to get you this MP3 player. This is due to the length of time that has pass from this was on offer. I would still like to look into this for you. Please could you email [email protected] with you BT account detail, please also include a link to this thread.
I will look into this and reply to you directly.

  • What is the maximum number of recipients per group text message

I was just wondering if there was a limit on the number of people who are allowed in a group message? My phone will only let me have 10 people, but my friends phones let them have as many as they want?

As you appear to have discovered, the maximum is 10.

  • What are the two little flip out "legs" on the charger?

What are those funny little "legs" that flip out from two corners of the charger?
Also, do you only use the charger to re-charge the battery?
If you use the AC cord (plugged into the charger, and then into the computer) is the battery charging while you are using the computer?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Joe

The legs are so you can wind the adapter cord around to help store i without so much mess.

I was just wondering what do the different color circles mean when I've located my iphone. So far I've seen a green dot with a green bigger outlined circle around it , a gray circle , a gray circle with a gray bigger outline around it , a real big green circle like the whole circle is dark green. I'm mainly just wondering can you tell if they are texting or using the phone at the time or if its on off or on vibrate is that what those different colors mean?

  • What do the little icons mean?!?!

    Hi,
A quick question, well 2 really!
I have a specially inquisitive client, who is always asking me difficult questions:
    1) In mail, what do the little icons mean that you sometimes get when opening an IMAP account. They look like little circles next to the inbox name - one has, like, 3 quarters filled in, the other has, maybe, 1/8th filled in... I can't find this information anywhere!
    2) Why does it take longer to show messages for IMAP accounts? I guess its because Mail is checking the synchronisation (or something else) between Mail and the IMAP server, but what's the official line?!?!
    Cheers!
    JS

    Hi James,
Since no-one else has replied I'll try to answer your question.
The circle you discribe is shown to the rightside of inbox when the Mail-app is connecting (retrieving) messages. Or when you click on another mail-box such as Trash or Junk. If it's not completing which it should then disappear, Apple suggests you go to DOT-MAC & read your mail there. This is because since the release of Tiger or mid 2005 Mail-app has difficulty reading unread mail from DOT-MAC! But I do find that if it's already open it can sort my in-coming Junk mail OK! And un-read messages. This answers your second question, I hope this helps.
