Hey Hallmarie, leave it turned off, do not attempt to charge or use. Place it in a sealed back of uncooked rice for at least 7 days, change the rice ever couple of days and hope for the best. After it has dried attempt to turn your iPod on. You may need to charge for 30 minutes, keep a close eye on it during this charge, if you hear noises, crackling, popping or hissing, or something smells like burning rubber or plastic, or you see smoke or it get very hot, unplug your iPod ASAP! and do not use; all signs your fried it. You may need to Reset or Restore or use DFU recovery mode to get it work, and when your all done this iPod may never work again. But for a couple of bucks worth of rice... worth a try. If you do get it to work the first thing you want to do is make a full set of backups, no telling how long it will work. Hope this helps, but be prepared to buy an out of warranty replacement. I need to get my iPod touch 4 and iPad 1 in sync from 2 different computers
I have a very specific situation that I've been unable to find an answer for. Please help! Here's my current situation:
I've synced my iPad to my iMac G5 PowerPC using my AppleID account that I always use. I've synced my iPod touch 4th gen to my iBook G4 using the same account. I thought that after signing in under that ID, I would be able to download the apps that I already purchased for iPad on the iBook. I found out that was not the case and trying to sync my iPad(in it's current iMac-synced state) to the iBook would result in the erasure of everything on it.
What I would like to do is be able to start syncing my iPad with the iBook but not lose anything. And then beyond that, have my iPod and iPad both in perfect sync-same apps, same everything. Can I do this?The iBook is running which OS X version?
In regards to iTunes content, an iPad, iPod Touch, and iPhone can be synced with an iTunes library on a single computer only, and photos can be transferred from a single computer. When transferring iTunes content and photos from another computer, all iTunes content and photos transferred from a different computer will be erased from the device first.
You can re-download 3rd party apps and you won't be charged again for a paid app as long as you use the same iTunes account to re-download the app that was used to purchase the app originally. -

So, before you get rid of your old device go to attach your device to itunes and go file-devices-backup. Additionally you can go to settings-icloud-storage and backup and select back up now. Well, it depends how long you can wait. We can't discuss rumors on here about release dates.
Look at what you actually need though and decide how soon you need something.
What you'll want to realize is that every year or two something new will come out.. so you have to learn to fight off the "I need the new one" bug if you want to be satisfied with your purchase. At your age you probably won't get the opportunity to upgrade for a while, so you'll have to learn to live with your purchase decision longer.
If the iPad 2 in it's current state does everything you want, and you enjoy playing around on it a lot, I'd get it now and be happy. If you feel like you want the newest of the new and are willing to wait (in line and for it to release) then you should wait for the next release.
The iPad 2s are finally becoming available after many months backlog, so keep in mind the next release will likely be the same way and think if you could really wait that long to get something.
Alternatively you could also consider getting a used iPad 1, then use that while waiting for the next version. The used one could then be resold for a fair amount once the new one comes out. Apple products tend to have a pretty good resale value, and the iPads are extraordinarily popular. -

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- Try another cable
- Try on another computer

Mirroring is only available on iPhone 4S and iPad (Gen 2 and 3). In regards to airplay (which is a separate feature to mirroring), not all apps are enabled and this is up to the developer.

You can try putting the iPod into DFU mode and see if that will let you restore and remove the jailbreak:

Some jailbreaks cannot be removed and in some cases will permanently disable your iPod. If that happens to you, then you will have to buy a new iPod; Apple will provide no support, warranty or out-of-warranty, for a jailbroken iPod.

Currently have ipod touch 4 and am getting iphone 5c this weekend. Currently our family has several apple devices and they have the same apple ID for itunes and it is the same ID that we use for icloud. I want to set up a separate icloud ID so that it is only on my new device. I still want to keep the same apple ID for purchases. no, you have every right to buy an ipod, no matter how receant your old one. plus the company wants the money from buying an ipod. Pros and cons of ipod touchs are generally up to the user, but they are pretty cool. Black or white depends on your choice. Earbud wise, you could go for out of ear ones like headphones or even those ones with a removable tip. You WILL NEED A CASE for your ipod, as of they absorb shock if the ipod is dropped and prevents the thin glass screen from breaking. facetime is free as long as there is wifi. As to whether you want a 32gb or 8 gb is up to you, how much space do you want? What i will tell you about having an 8gb with apps, songs and movies it that it is actually really small. so it all depends on what you put on it. THERE are NO rules of purchasing an ipod.
