Go into the iTunes Store. Click on "Account". Enter your password. Click on "See All" for your Purchase History. Click on the little arrow to the left of the item you rented. Click on the "Report a Problem" against the item. Enter the details.

The movie must fully download to iTunes.
If you have an AppleTV1, have you downloaded a 1080p movie rental as it can't handle that, in which case alter your Preferences for downloads to 720p, contact iTunes Store support and see if they can re-enable the download or refund so you can rent again at 720p.
If you have black model ATV2 or ATV3, then I assume you are looking under the Computers icon where a new Rentals row appears in order to play rentals downloaded to iTunes.

I have the same problem in windows iTunes. Tried playing the movie from my mac but get "this movie is only authorized to play on another computer". So now it won't play on either.

I rented a movie through itunes on my ipad and wanted to watch it with friends on a digital projector, but it wouldn't allow me to do it. Is there any way around this?
The issue was that a dialogue box came up which said that I couldn't play this movie on another device. I tried playing the same movie on an Tv with an HDMI connection attached to an adapter to the IPad and that worked. I wonder if the problem is that the digital projector has a VGA connection.

My Friend dropped my laptop form about 4 ft. It was working but after I turned it off and tried to turn it back on it wont load completely when it sign in. It loads half way and stays there, I can only use safari through the guest section. What can I do to fix?

You can't, if you don't want it on your PC, rent it from your Apple TV. -
