What do we do to burn DVD video?  Encore is not in CC.

What to we use or do to create DVD videos? Encore is not in the Creative Cloud. Premier Pro does not seem to work for this and I don't know where to go to accomplish this task. I have been looking for hours.

This is the link for info re using Encore CS6 with CC, updated for CC 2014 and the cloud desktop install.

It has links for getting the library (which is not installed with Encore) and a workflow with CC versions.

    What iMac..?
The Apple USB SuperDrive only supports new iMac's that did not come with a built-in SuperDrive.

It's what iDVD is for. If you don't have it:
Why is there no iDVD on my new Mac? How do I get it and how do I install it?

To burn a DVD with iDVD from the latest version of iMovie, you have to export the movie using the Export button and select 480p as the size. Open iDVD and start a new project, then drag that exported movie file into the iDVD menu window, avoiding any drop zones you see.

  • Burned DVD video looks like jerky-  This did not happen before!

    Hi all,
I have used I DVD before with great results! I have done several DVD's and each of them have looked great and smooth. I am using an HD camera and sharing to Itunes in the high resolution setting. The movie when played on my apple tv looks smooth and great. When the same video is burned to the DVD it looks like some of the frames are missing. While it looks clear it looks jerky like something you would see on the internet or an old home movie. Any help would be appreciated as I have tried to change the setting but cant seem to find what is wrong. I am not sure if some upgrade has hurt performance, is anyone experiencing this same issue. The slide show looks great and plays smooth with music. I created the slide show in Imovie08 and copied it into the DVD that way because when I tried to use the slide show option in IDVD the music kept skipping and cutting out.
    Thanks for your help!
    GE

I will try to answer both request in one post. First the video did not really look like the tracking was off generally this makes lines in the video. I was more like an old time movie only not that bad where it may have been missing some frames but the picture looked good just choppy.
What I did first was share to the media browser a "large movie" from Imovie08 then import into IDVD- that did not work choppy- about 1.05gb for 38 min of video
Next I shared to Itunes from Imovie08 same as above result the same-(guess it would be since the same movie format just in a different place. Since it worked before guessed I would give it a try. I tried this option several times on several settings. While the movie played fine in Itunes it did not when burned and played on the DVD.
Someone had a post about quicktime upgrade being a problem so I thought. . .and then
Next I exported a large .MOV file it came to 8.07GB for the same 38 min of video above. This I put into the movie file then pulled it into IDVD and burned the video and IT WORKED!!! no choppy video!
Now should I have to do this every time NO. This should be fixed as it must be with the way IDVD is reading these files.
PLEASE let me know if you have any thoughts on the fix. I did remove peridan too and that did not work. I would like not to have to create such large files to make this work.
    Thanks

  • Trouble burning DVD/ Video TS to make copy

Ok here is the issue. I have a DVD that I am trying to copy to give to family. No it is not a movie copy. Its a nieces fifteens event that was recorded professionally and put on DVD. I know it can be done because we gave the dvd to someone to burn and the copies worked perfectly.
The files on the dvd are Audio TS and Video TS.
    I have used both DVD-R and DVD+R dvd's.
Ok first I send the files to a burn folder. I then open the burn folder and click on the burn icon.
It request to put in a blank DVD so I do and it burns. The process takes about 10 to 15 min.
After this I try to play the dvd on the apple dvd player. And it states the the media is not supported.
So I then try to play it on several of my home DVD player with two different results.
On a Daewoo dvd player the video plays but starts about 5 min into the DVD.
On a sony and sanyo DVD players, both to not recognize the dvd and nothing happens. I have done this with both DVD-R and DVD+R.
I also have a dell laptop with dvd player and it plays on it no problem.
I have checked the dvds and see that they have all the files mentioned above.
So what is the issue, is the dvd not getting finalized. What is it that the DVD's don't play on home DVD players.
Please any advise or solutions to this matter will be greatly appreciated. I have been wasting DVD's left and right trying to figure this thing out.

First of all, it seems a bit odd that the DVD will play in one, but not in several other players, so I have no idea what the problem could be with that; however, you need to run it through some burning software before you can burn it again (Finder can't do video encoding). Toast ($$) will copy/burn a DVD in a single process if you have two burners/drives or you might want to try to use MPEG Streamclip (free) - you will need to buy the MPEG2 Component from Apple (downloadable purchase, less than $20). With MPEG Streamclip, you can import the video footage - just drag the DVD in the window - and then convert it to a format iMovie or iDVD will recognize - then import it into one of those two and burn it.

  • BURN DVD Using Disk Utility not Bootable

I have downloaded TechTool Deluxe for Intel and PPC. Following instructions in Disk Utility, I made/Burned DVD's of each .dmg for Power PC & Intel based computers.
Neither DVD will boot on computers using OS 10.5.6. The PPC DVD has OS 10.4.4 and the Intel has OS 10.4.5. I have tried restart using System Preferences, the "C" key, and "Option".
Can someone tell me how to boot from the DVD's or tell me what I may have done incorrectly?
    Bud

There must be some misunderstanding here.
It is the TechTool CD that must boot. If an operating system was installed on the CD via Disk Utility Burn then it should start up on that CD. It does not, even though it will show up in System Preferences/Startup Disk and "Options". I see it as a matter of how Apple installs the .dmg onto the CD as a legitimate startup disk.
All my computers work fine with 10.5.6 or lesser for older machines. The purpose of Techtools for me is to assure that they continue to do so.
The reason for a second G5 is that the first one had an LED light "on" on the logic board making it somewhat inoperable. The second machine comes clean. 10.5.X was installed nicely.

  • What settings to use to burn DVD?

After several attempts, I have not been able to burn a DVD that will play on any of our DVD players.  They will, however, play on our 2 laptops.  I have read the user guide, watched the PrE tutorials, and Steve Grisetti's video and I am still confused about the out put settings.  I downloaded ImgBurn and still no luck.  I have a new hp dv7 laptop with cyberlink dvd drive (BDDVDRW CT40) , and am using Sony DVD+R rw DVDs. Our TV is HD and would like to get the best possible resolution.  After reading the posts on this forum, I am even more confused.  Should it be this difficult?  I should mention that neither of our DVD players are blue ray.  Any help would be appreciated as well as explaining what each of those many, many options will do.

Were you using the same exact blank discs?
It appears that you are using Sony DVD +RW's (rewritables). Is that correct, and did you previously use those exact same discs?
Many players have real issues with any RW DVD's, though some, like all of my test units, play them fine. I use the highest quality blanks, and burn at less than the highest burn speed (cannot adjust that in PrE, but one can, if they use ImgBurn, or similar). I use RW's as a last test, prior to burning my delivery DVD's, to save making "coasters." I never deliver RW discs, as some clients have players, that do not play those properly. In the last few years, all of my blank delivery discs have been Taiyo-Yuden +R's for DVD-5's, and Verbatim +R's for DVD-9's (DL discs), and I have not had one return.
    Good luck,

  • PRE9 ? What is max Quality to Burn DVD from 1080i Source????

Dont know if I worded the question properly.
I just bought a Sony HDR-CX350v.  It is state of the art HD.  I am wondering...?  When I look at the quality of my recordings, its awesome.  I import to PSE9 and burn to DVD and the quality is significantly less than straight to the camera.  So it is recording via AVCHD...and then to PSE9 and then is it being compressed again to play on DVD?  I checked all the settings and it doesnt seem to allow to burn at the same quality as I import from camera.  Im sorry if this sounds extremely confusing or like I dont know all the variables...I dont.  Hopefully I have articulated my situation enough and someone can figure out for me what I am asking.  Thanks.

    RFMclaughlin3 wrote:
I presume that if I connect the camera to my TV via HDMI (dont have right cable yet) that it will display in full HD.
    Correct.
    RFMclaughlin3 wrote:
That being the casse, it would seem to me that there must be a way to import files into PRE9, edit, add titles etc and then save to a file without compromising quality of the original HD file?  My TV is networked, I must be able to play a file straight to my TV from my PC....?  Am I dreaming?
PRE will always rerender a file when creating an output, but you must choose one of the HiDef output formats. Saving to DVD will always (by definition) be StandardDef.
    RFMclaughlin3 wrote:
Also, I have tried using PRE9's presets to save the movie for uploading using Flash and MPEG and again the quality is very blurry/marginal.  I see great quality videos online, seriously clear productions.  How are these done?  How can I do the same?
Take a look at John Cloudman recommendations towards the bottom of How can I get the best quality on YouTube? and see if that improves your quality.

  • Burned dvd plays audio but not video

I just completed the first part of a wedding video and it burned fine. I just finished the second part and it looks and plays fine in imovie and idvd preview. However when I burn it and try to play it the dvd will only play the audio. the dvd starts like it's going to be fine, but the video stalls on the first frame and the audio continues. does anyone have any suggestions. I am trying to avoid starting over, but I don't know what else to do. I tried eliminating the first clip in case it was corrupt, but that didn't help.

First thing you might do is in iDVD, use the menu option to "Delete encoded assetts" in case the previous garbage from the last project or burn is messing things up. If that doesn't work here are my standard list of things I do when I have issue or even just before I go to burn a new project...
Run Cache Out X (free download) to clear all system and application caches.
Run MacJanitor (free download) to do all the Unix Cron Maintenance scripts.
Run Disk Utility (Applications -> Utilities) and repair disk permissions on your start up drive (typically your internal drive). Also verify any other drives mounted on the system.
Run Preferential Treatment (free download) to check for corrupt/damaged application and system preference files.
    Reboot your Mac.

  • PE2 - Timeline thumbnail renders, but monitor and burned DVD video is blank for one section. Also audio export quality question

I split a clip to get rid of a few seconds of something else, and everything looked OK. I set it rendering overnight, and this morning, I found most of the DVD was fine, but this one section at the end is black on the DVD. I went back to the project, and although the timeline looks OK with thumbnails generated, it's showing black for that same section in the preview monitor. How can I "regenerate" this clip without re-adding and making the cuts?
The video details look OK though...
    Video: MPEG2 Video 720x576 (4:3) 25.00fps 6802Kbps [Video]
Next up, seeing as I gave only one hours captured video to a whole DVD, I was wondering why the video was quite blocky.
    Then I saw the audio....
Audio: Dolby AC3 48000Hz 6ch 192Kbps [AC-3] < what the?!? This is mono video captured off an old tape, so at most it could be 44k 96k mono, not 6ch! But despite FAQ-ing myself silly, I can't see where you change the audio properties...
Help on these two would be greatly appreciated.
Before anyone asks (and they will!) why I don't upgrade, well, V2 does what I want (which is about 2 DVDs per year!) and when I tried V4 trial, on my old 3GHz PC with 3.5Gb RAM it was TOOOO slow

I found the solution to the blank error - what had happened was that when I was trying to make the background, it said "drag media here to make thumbnail" (or something) so I did, but although it didn't work, what I didn't realise was when I dragged the preview image to the thumbnail, I had actually dragged the image right off the screen! But when I did "undo", it looked OK, so I didn't notice it hadn't undone the move. If that makes sense.
As that was the last thing I did, it didn't bother checking before burning. I found this because I started a new project to convert it, and thought "well, if it plays OK here..." and started experimenting. I only saw the video offset by accident!
As for the question about Audio, I was previewing in MPC Home Cinema, but you're right. because when I preview in Windows Media Player, it appears to be OK and says Dolby 2.0
    Thanks for your help!

  • Burn DVD video

I have purchased 6 Pixar animatation videos from iTunes music store.
How do you burn them to DVD?
The settings only allow a data dvd

    Easy As It Looks
The virtual shelves of the iTunes Music Store now feature a video section. Music videos, Pixar shorts and select NBC Universal, Sci Fi Channel, USA Network, ABC and Disney television shows live right alongside songs, podcasts and audiobooks. Browse featured listings or search the archive to find just what you want, then click to buy. Once you do, you get stutter-free, ad-free video delivered directly to your desktop. From there, the sky’s the limit, because you own purchased video forever. Watch as many times as you choose, share between five computers, burn to data CDs or sync to the new iPod. Instant gratification never looked better.
This is directly from the Apple Website and in my opinion is FALSE ADVERTISING! Note the next to the last sentance "burn to data CDs or sync to the new iPod." but yet you cannot burn to a DVD to watch on a regular TV. The pervious line says "From there, the sky’s the limit, because you own purchased video forever"....well....Apple has yet to respond to my question for over two weeks now regarding this. I guess it is time for a class action lawsuit from all those that purchased videos thinking we could watch them someplace other than sitting in our computer chairs.....or maybe this was Apple's grand plan to get us to buy the new Ipod with video capabilities.
To think that I have spent thousands to Apple....hundreds of purchased songs, Ipod Mini, Ipod Shuffle....and get the common Big Business....small customer...why should we respond to them lack of support so prevelant in American business today
    Sigh. Bad form Apple!

  • What does error message when trying to burn DVD from iDVD mean "not enough disk space to burn the remaining assets"

I created a DVD in idvd and now when trying to burn to DVD using external burner, I get the error message
"not enough disk space to encode the remaining assets". I am using a brand new blank DVD.
I have read the help info on computer but hasnt proved helpful.
    Any suggestions?

iDVD requires a fair amount of disk space to carry out the encoding process; depending on your project, you may need to have over 25 GB free space on your startup hard drive.  How much free space do you have?
