What do ya do when the software your attempting to download is mis-configured?

I have adobe photoshop elements 8 and tried to install Adobe Photoshop Inspiration Browser and I get an error message that the installer is mis-configured.  I'm referring to Adobe Photoshop Inspiration Browser.

If you are using windows:
Try to remove Adobe AIR, do the following:
Select Start > Settings > Control Panel.
Open the Add or Remove Programs panel.
Select Adobe AIR to remove the runtime.
Click the Change/Remove button.
Then reinstall AIR:
Download Adobe AIR directly from the Adobe AIR Download Center at http://get.adobe.com/air/.  This step downloads an Adobe AIR installer file to your computer.
Run the installer file. For example, on Windows computers, double-click the installer file to run it.
Then try the inpiration browser installation again.

  • What can I do when it says "your system has run out of application memory?

What can I do when it says "your system has run out of application memory?"

The message has nothing to do with low disk space.
There is excessive swapping of data between physical memory (that is, the memory chips on the logic board) and virtual memory (one or more files on the startup volume.) That activity is relatively slow and causes the whole system to be less responsive. It can happen for two reasons:
A long-running process with a memory leak (a kind of bug)
Not enough memory for your usage pattern
Tracking down a memory leak can be difficult, and it may come down to a process of elimination.
These instructions are for OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks.") The procedure may be slightly different for earlier versions of OS X.
When you notice the swap activity, open the Activity Monitor application and select All Processes from the View menu, if it's not already selected. Select the Memory tab. Click the heading of the Real Mem column in the process table twice to sort the table with the highest value at the top. If you don't see that column, select
View ▹ Columns ▹ Real Memory
    from the menu bar.
If one process (excluding "kernel_task") is using much more memory than all the others, that could be an indication of a leak. A better indication would be a process that continually grabs more and more real memory over time without ever releasing it. Here is an example of how it's done.
The processes named "Safari Web Content" render web pages for Safari. They use a lot of memory and may leak if certain Safari extensions or third-party web plugins are installed. Consider them prime suspects.
Another process often implicated in memory leaks is "inkjet4" or "inkjet8," which is a component of the HP printing software. If it's present, force-quit the process in Activity Monitor to solve the problem temporarily. Empty the print queues in the Printers & Scanners preference pane (which has a slightly different name in each recent version of OS X.) If you don't use an HP printer, remove the software. Otherwise, if the problem is recurrent, update the software (which may not help) or contact HP support.
"Wired" memory should be a small part of the total. That memory is not swapped, but it makes less physical memory available which may then result in swapping. If you have a lot of wired memory, that's usually an indication of a memory leak in a third-party program that modifies the operating system at a low level. Ask for guidance in that case.
If you don't have an obvious memory leak, your options are to install more memory (if possible) or to run fewer programs simultaneously.
The next suggestion is only for users familiar with the shell. For a more precise, but potentially misleading, test, run the following command:
sudo leaks -nocontext -nostacks process | grep total
where process is the name of a process you suspect of leaking memory. Almost every process will leak some memory; the question is how much, and especially how much the leak increases with time. I can’t be more specific. See the  leaks(1) man page and the Apple developer documentation for details.

  • I cannot get the updates for ipad to download. when it gets ready to process the file an error message pops up saying the software was unable to download and the network timed out. any suggestions...

i am trying to update the software on my ipad from 4.2 to 4.3.3 but i cannot get it to download. I get an error message that says the software was unable to download because the network timed out.  I have tried to download it 7 or 8 different times and still get the same message.  I cannot restore the factory settings either.  The same thing happens.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  It did this when trying to update to 4.2.  I don't remember how we were able to get the software to update.  Thanks.

Thank you King_Penguin!  It worked beautifully.  I had turned the firewalls off but not the antivirus.  You are great!  I am new to this apple community thing so it looks like I cannot mark your reply as "correct answers", but it was.  Thanks a ton!

When I begin to attempt to download the windows support software in boot camp, it says the windows support software is unavailable. Is there any other place I can download it for a Macbook Pro 5,5 intel core 2 duo with snow leopard without the original CD?

    Hi,
apart from the MacBook Air this feature is of no use for other Macs right now.
Simply ingnore it (click "I already have the Drivers...) and continue with the installation.
Sorry to say but you need the OSX Install DVD for the BootCamp Driver installation.
The 3.0 version of the BootCamp Drivers is only avaiable on the disc.
Later updates (3.1 and 3.2) can be downloaded from Apples Support website.
Call Apple and ask for a replacement and they usually send you one for a small fee.
And have the Serial-Number of your Mac at hand when calling.
And since the OSX Install DVD can also be vital for maintenance and repair it is best to have one.
The needed BootCamp Drivers are on the OSX Install DVD 1 that came with your Mac.
Insert that disc while in Windows after the Windows installation to install the drivers.
    Regards
    Stefan

  • What do you do when the system crashes ?

    hi experts,
i want answers for the following questions..
1.What do you do when the system crashes in the middle of a BDC batch
    session?
2.What do you do with errors in BDC batch sessions? and how to proceed further..
    with regards ,
    James...
    valuable answers will be rewarded...

    HI,
There are two ways to tackle this issue.
    <b>Method..1</b>
Thru se16 check the table(s) being updated, preferably the last table as per your code. If you have say 1600 records in the flat file check for the upload of the 1600 th record.. If not ok, check for the upload of the 800 th record(N-N/2), if OK go & check
N+(N/2) th record  if not ok goto N-(N/2) th record where N is the curent record number in the flat file . In about 4 or five checks you will converge on the last uploaded record.
Now from the flat file, remove the lines till the upload is ok & then re-run BDC.
Even here a record may be uploaded partially which has to be manually edited thru se16.
    <b>Method..2</b>
Have a zee table for uploads. Just after uploading a record into the sap table, fill this zeetable with few fields of each the records. In an abort situation this table will tell the story of the update status. Take care to empty this table occasionally.
    Regards
    Gaurav
