What do you do if you forget your Ipod password to unlock your Ipod?

I forget my password and i cant get in my Ipod. Help!!

Although this was written for the iPad, it works the same way on the iPod Touch.
You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.

With 10.4, 10.5 or 10.6 put your install DVD into the optical drive (CD/DVD drive) and reboot. Be sure to either use the disc that came with your Mac, or, if you installed a later Mac OS X version from disc, use the newer disc. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option Key until the Install Disk shows up) until the apple shows up. That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Reset Password. After resetting the password use Startup Disk from the same menu to choose your hard drive for startup and restart.
With 10.4, 10.5 or 10.6 if you don’t have an install disk check this article. http://www.macyourself.com/2009/08/03/how-to-reset-your-mac-os-x-password-withou t-an-installer-disc/
If you're running 10.7 Lion check this article
    http://osxdaily.com/2011/08/24/reset-mac-os-x-10-7-lion-password/
With 10.8 or 10.9 restart holding the Command and R keys, then from the drop down
of actions, choose Terminal.  When Terminal opens type:
    resetpassword
    and press enter.
You will get a reset password window from which you can select the user you want to reset, the admin account in your case.  Type a new password twice, do not do anything with the hint box.  Click Save, then confirm you want to do this reset.  Then click apply to the user's home directory, and click the apple in the left corner, and choose Restart.

what do I do if I forget my iCloud password?

Your iCloud ID is an Apple ID.  Just go to http://iforgot.apple.com enter your iCloud ID and reset the password.  After resetting it, you'll need to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new password.  (Note: when you delete the account it is only deleted from your phone, not from iCloud.  Your synced data is also deleted, but will be synced back to your phone when you sign back in.)

my itunes wont let me restore my new iphone 5s from my iphone5 as it it is coming up with "enter the password to unlock your iphone backup"  i dont have a password set up? ive tried my itunes password but nothing is working?

This means when you backed up your device you clicked encrypt backup... That means you need a password to unlock the backup and restore to it. Call apple support for help if you forgot your password.

This has happened to a few users.  Try using the same password that you log onto your computer with.  Other passwords that may work 11111 and 12345.

What do I do when I can't swipe across to unlock my ipod touch

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

You must not use it much.
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.

Lost all contact info.  All my Aps are there but all the data/progress is missing.  When I plug my iphone into the usb fto synch up with my itunes on the computer a message comes up and says "enter the password to unlock your iphone backup file".  This is very frustrating

I suggest trying the update again after an hour or two.  Sometimes, the notice that an update is available comes an hour or two before the developers actually sends the revised app out to be downloaded.

  • "password to unlock your iPad backup"

Hello,  in attempting to restore my iPad via the iTunes backup, I am asked to enter a password.  But, I do not recall every creating a Backup password.  I tried a few passwords I used to unlock the iPad and the security password but to no avail.  Any suggestions to help me overcome this issue?  Thank you.

If you forgot your encrypted backup password, see the "encrypted backups" section here, which says you will have to restore and choose "set up as a new device".

  • What do i do when you forget your lockscreen password

What do i do when i forget my lockscreen password for my ipod?

Restore, if iTunes will let you.  Everything except the password will be restored.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  Be forewarned that it takes a long time.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.
