No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.
Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash. Adobe is not providing Flash for Apple iOS devices, and they no longer provide Flash for any other cellular phones. Flash is officially gone.
Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.
A sample of Apps that can display some Flash content:
  1. Puffin
  2. SkyFire
  3. Photon Flash
  4. Browse2Go
  5. Swifter
Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."

    Hi can any one please help me.... I cant do my face book or watch some movies. My ipad2 needs adobe flash player and it wont allow that application to be downloaded has any one got any suggestions please. Please help me as im a newbie at this thanks..

    There is no flash player for iPad and likely wont be in the near future. Some people use Skyfire and other apps as ways to view flash on a remote server, but reviews are mixed.
    Facebook works fine on the iPad browser, but you can also use dedicated apps. Games such as Farmville are also available in app forms, as is YouTube. What movie sites are you trying to view?

  • What Apple app works for adobe flash player?

    On christmas i bought my iPad 3G+wi fi, my first dissapoint was to play in internet adobe flash video in two  sites www.tuparada.com and www.integridadysabiduria.org, appstore recommends some apps equivalent to adobe flash, i tried  Skyfire ($4.95) but it doesn't work, and i lost my money because Skyfire said  they can not refund because Apple doesn' has policy refund, anyway my core cuestión is : how can i play  internet vídeos which request adobe flash player.?

    I think Apple   should probably have to take most seriously this problem,  because this kind of video is high popular , besides retailers do not quote the warning that we will not be allowed to play this type of video

    There is no guaranteed solution for the iPad as flash is not and probably never will be supported.
    Apart from Skyfire there a browser apps such as iSwifter, Puffin and Photon which 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites.

  • I cannot load an app for Adobe Flash Player on my iPad.  It says not supported on this equipment.  Is that right?  If so, is there a recommended sub that will satisfy that requirement?  Some programs say "adobe flash player"

    I cannot load an app for Adobe Flash Player on my iPad.  It says "not supported" on this equipment.  Is that right?  If so, is there a recommended sub that will satisfy that requirement?  Some programs specifically say "adobe flash player"

    What App? From where?
    You can only get Apps from the App Store. nowhere else.  If you are trying to download form a website you cannot do it.
    If you need Flash Support for websites, you can download a flash supporting browser from the App store.
    Examples are:
    Puffin
    https://itunes.apple.com/en/app/puffin-web-browser/id406239138?mt=8
    Photon
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/photon-flash-player-for-ipad/id430200224?mt=8
    There may be others in the store.

    You could try a third-party browser app such as Skyfire, iSwifter, Puffin and Photon which 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store.

    However Skyfire, Photon, iSwifter, Browse2Go and Puffin Web Browser will provide limited Flash capability

  • What can we use instead of flash player.?

    What can I use instead of flash?

    You're looking into the wrong forum.
    If you're trying to put apps on an iPad, you should check Adobe Digital Publishing Suite on www.adobe.com. (This has nothing to do with PDF and this forum.)

  • What can I use instead of flash player?

    I am a teacher and want to use my iPad in my class. I will need to download Flash player to view both. What can I use instead?

    You can't download flash as it is not supported, and probably never will be : http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/ .
    And you want to view both of what ?
    There are no ideal solutions, but depending on what you want to access/view, you might find that some websites (probably more so if they are news sites) have their own apps in the App Store which might let you get some of the content that you want (and there is the built-in YouTube app). Also there are browsers such as Skyfire which 'work' on some sites - but judging by the reviews not all sites. For flash games then you are probably out of luck if you want to play on-line though the iSwifter app might work on some of them, but again some flash games have app versions in the store.

  • HT6160 What ports are used for Apple Configurator to function with IPads?

    Need to know what ports need to be allowed for Apple Configurator to function.

    Apple Configurator runs locally on an OS X computer. It requires a USB connection. So no ports required for connecting Configurator to iPads.
    However, there are some ports that need to be opened for iPads to work with Apple's server if you are behind a firewall. Here is a list of known TCP and UDP ports used by Apple software products: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6175?viewlocale=en_US
    To use iPads behind a firewall (Configurator or not), you'll want to definitely open 5223 for Apple Push Notification and the standard ports for HTTP/HTTPS (80 and 443). If you're using an MDM, you will likely need to open 2195 and 2196 as well.  If you still have issues port watch and see what an iPad does when trying to get to the store.
    Hope this answers your question!

  • What do I use for an flv player in asp

    I have a web application written in Active Server Pages. I
    want to include flash videos and I can't get a player to work on my
    site (well a free one!)
    There seem to be many free players for php and a couple of
    web controls for .net but nothing for ASP
    Can someone suggest something?
    I tried this:
    <object
    classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000"codebase="
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/
    swflash.cab#version=7,0,0,0" width="200" height="170"
    align="middle">
    <PARAM NAME=allowFlashAutoInstall VALUE=true>
    <param name=Flashvars value="url=February092.flv">
    <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
    <param name="movie" value="320x240.swf" />
    <param name="quality" value="high" />
    <param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" />
    <embed src="320x240.swf" width="320"
    height="240"align="middle" swLiveConnect="true"
    Flashvars="url=February092.flv"
    quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff"
    allowScriptAccess="sameDomain"type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
    pluginspage="
    http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"
    allowflashautoinstall="true" /></object>
    My flv file is called February092.flv and the player here is
    supposed to use a 320x240.swf to play the flv but I noticed that
    this player only works on php pages.
    This is extremely frustrating and either I am doing something
    completely wrong and foolish or I desperately need someone's
    expertise.
    Thanks!
    Luis

    If you are asking how to connect your tape player to a new iMac with the combined in/out mini jack?
    Then a USB Griffin iMic or a RCA to USB Audio Interface is your best bet.

  • What do i use for adobe flash

    I can't use any site that uses adobe flash.  Is there something else I need to do?

    iOS devices do not support Flash.
    Adobe does not support Flash on mobile devices or Linux.  It works for now on Android/Linux, but it is deprecated and will be falling behind.
    Flash is dead.  Complain to the webmaster of whatever site and tell them to get with this decade.

  • What camera resolution mode is used by the Flash Player camera settings manager

    What camera resolution is used by the Flash Player camera settings manager? I am referring to the camera settings that you have to pull up by right-clicking on a Flash Player swf that is running, and from the right-click menu you hit settings...select the camera tab...and then you can hit the little camera icon and will show you the live video feed from the camera.
    In order for the live feed to be displayed, Flash Player requests a camera resolution mode to the driver. What mode is being requested?
    For example, could it be 160x120 @ 30fps?
    Or is it 176x144 @ 30fps?
    http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help04.html#117113

    I have the same cam as you (it's apretty darn good cam IMHO).
    I don't ever see any resolution request when I click the icon.
    My cam initializes at 1920X1080, per the logitech specs. The box in the settings is 4:3, but the cam is running at 16:9, in apps like Skype, or FaceTime (Mac).
    It shows the same setup screen in WIn XP, Vista, Win 7 and Win 8, which ALL share the same cam on my setup.
    Being as the cam feed in the setup is 4:3, I'd have to say the resolution is 160:120  as opposed to 176:144 which would be a 5.3:3 or 16:9.
