What does a BB copy from Outlook?

I have copied the contacts in the contact list. RIM said that BB does not support distribution lists from Outlook at this time - and that's okay. But how can we get our corporate e-mail list onto the BB?
Do I really have to create a corporate contact list and add these e-mails one by one, and then sync the new contact list? There are hundreds of them! >_<
We just want the address book that we use on Outlook to work on the BB. Is this possible?

Found this fix, but it doesn' work:
POTENTIAL FIX wrote:
To create a Global subfolder inside the Contacts folder:
Open Outlook.
Select the Contacts folder located in your mailbox folder list.
On the File menu, select New > Folder.
Name the new folder Global.
Import the Contacts from the GAL onto your Handheld
Complete the following steps:
Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager and connect your handheld to your computer.
Double-click the Backup and Restore
icon.
Click Advanced. The Backup and Restore window appears.
In the Handheld Databases list box, select the Address Book.
Click the backup button (the top arrow). The Address Book is copied to the Desktop File Databases list box.
In the Desktop File Databases list box, select Address Book.
In the File menu, select Import > Addresses. The Address Book Import window appears listing the contacts stored in the GAL. [ERIC: This is where the process fails. I have "open" "close" "save" and "save as." There is no import option in this window. I have to believe this is a fix for an older version that actually had the option in it. Or have I failed in reading comprehension somewhere??]
While pressing the CTRL key, select the contacts you want imported to your handheld.
Click Import. The selected contacts are added to the import list.
When you have finished selecting the contacts, click OK.
In the Desktop File Databases list box, select Address Book.
Click the restore button (the bottom arrow).
In the Warning window, click OK. The contacts are imported to your handheld.
Click Close.
If the Save Changes dialog box appears, click Yes inside the dialog box to save changes to your backup file
Click Close.
Configure the Global Folder as the Default Address Book Folder
Complete the following steps:
In desktop manager, double-click the Intellisync icon.
Click Configure PIM.
Verify the Address Book is already selected and click Choose.
Make sure MS Outlook is selected as the translator and click Browse.
Locate and select the Global folder created in “Task 1”. The Global folder is located inside the Contacts folder.
Click Add.
From the Selected Folder(s) list, select the Global folder.
Click Default.
If the Note dialog box appears, click OK.
Click OK > OK > OK to return to the Intellisync window.
Synchronize Your Handheld with the Global Folder
Complete the following steps:
In the Intellisync window, click Synchronize Now.
When the Confirm Address Book Edits dialog box appears, click Accept. The GAL contacts are copied from your handheld’s address book to the Global folder. Note: Because the GAL contacts copied to the Global folder during synchronization, the GAL contacts will not be mixed with the contacts in your Contacts folder during future synchronizations.
Reconfigure the Contacts Folder as the Default Address Book Folder
Complete the following steps:
In the Intellisync window, click Configure PIM. [ERIC: I also haven't been able to find any options for something called "Intellisync." Am I just looking in the wrong place for these things?]
Verify the Address Book is already selected and click Choose.
From the Selected Folder(s) list, select the Contacts folder.
Click Default.
If the Note dialog box appears, click OK.
Click OK > OK > OK to return to the Intellisync window.
Click Close.

  • What does "Easily import photos from other applications" really mean?

    What does "Easily import photos from other applications" really mean in the Lightroom 4 features list? I also see it stated as "...from other software" as well. Yes, I understand the LR can import from Elements libraries but can't find any reference to other applications anywhere, not in the online help, not in the user guide, not in any videos on Adobe TV. It would be nice if LR could see into iPhoto or Aperture libraries but that doesn't appear to be the case. Is that assumption correct? What other applications can LR import from?

    Hello bbb34vball,
    Since that article didn't help, I would suggest trying the steps in this article next:
    iOS: Unable to import photos to computer - Apple Support
    If that doesn't resolve your issue, you may find more information by using another one of Apple's support resources - https://getsupport.apple.com/GetproductgroupList.action.

  • What does Adapter engine pick from system landscape directory? Kindly help!

    Hi experts,
          What does Adapter engine pickup from system landscape directory? In other words, what data adapter engine need from SLD?
    Kindly give examples.
    Thanks
    Gopal

    Hi,
    To add, Integration server picks the URL of the various Adapter Engines form SLD and caches it in AE Cache(You can view the Cached URL in SXI_Cache).
    In SLD u can go to Content Maintanence and check the Adapter FrameWork Instance and get the URL for the AE's for Secure and non-secure communication.

  • What does YGCT as output from JSTAT mean

    Hi,
    I am monitoring JVM Garbage collection on a 20 CPU system (Solaris Sparc)
    Could one of you tell me what the the meaning of the YGCT, part of the output of jstat. Is this the elapsed time or the CPU seconds used for Young garbage collections? I want to estimate how much CPU time i loose with YGC
    Thanks in advance, Robert

    Thanks for providing a sample clip, 998... Using your clip, I have reproduced the 960x720 results that you report, but only in the AME 4.2.0.006; CS4.0 and 5.0 do not manifest this problem. Also, in 4.2.0, I can repro _only_ with the clip you provided, not with any clips that I tried from our library of test content, including clips that I created to mimic yours as closely as possible.
    In the course of attempting to mimic the properties of your clip, I noticed an anomaly, which may or may not pertain to this issue. According to MediaInfo (a utility that shows all the properties of a video clip), the Level = 3.0. By my understanding (which I hasten to add is less than rock-solid), Level 3.0 does not support dimensions of 1280x720 @ a frame rate of 24fps. If in fact the clip is not in compliance with the MPEG4/h.264 standards, that still doesn't explain why AME 4.2.0 gets the output dimensions wrong when 4.0 and 5.0 do not.
    Bottom line: I suggest downloading the trial of PPRO 5.5 (http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=premiere_pro) and using AME CS5.5 for this job.

  • What does restore back-up from an iPhone really mean

    Hi everyone
    I haven't connected my iPhone to my computer/iTunes in over a year because I had computer issues that I just recently was able to fix. However, in the meantime I have purchased well over a hundred songs and over 50 apps. When I plugged my phone it, it gave me the following message:
    "This computer has previously been synced with an iPhone or another IOS device"
    and then it gave me two options:
    1. Set up a new iphone
    2.restore from back up of my Iphone (but the last back up was from May 2011)
    I'm not too sure how to proceed and am afraid that if I restore from back-up, I'll lose everything that I've purchased from May 2011 to present.
    This may seem like a really simple question but I must honestly say that I am stumped...
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Bhazel,
    Thank you for taking the time to help but I was wondering when i 'restore from back-up' what happens to the new apps? And will it delete the info contained within the actual app itself?

  • Why does text I copy from a .pdf to a Word document, not copy correctly words containing the combinations 'tt' or 'ti'?

    When I copy text from a .pdf to a Word document, all words containing the combination 'tt' or 'ti' come up as blank boxes,or question marks.  How can I correct this?

    To comment a bit further, several letter combinations like tt and ti as well as many combinations with f are given as a single character in some languages and apparently you do not have that special character on your system.

  • What does 'file was dropped from the Add to Source Control Operation" message mean

    Yesterday I upgraded to LabView 8.5.1 and moved a project from my office desktop onto the test system computer in the vault. I wanted to use the source code control integration capability with this project. I went through the process of configuring source control (I am using Serena Version Manager). All appeared to be well. LabView saw the source control software an can bring up the client. I selected all of the files in my project and selected "Add to source control". I received a message popup with a message like:
    FILENAME was dropped from the Add to Source Control Operation
    for each of the files in my project. I got the same message when I tried the operation on a single file. This did not appear to be an error or warning message, just informational. I could find no information in the help to tell me what this message really means. Any ideas?
    Mike Eaton

    Usually LabVIEW creates one dialog (with a tree-control, and an option to keep files checked out and a comment box).
    All other dialogs are from the SCC. Maybe you can configure Serena to go silent?

    com.apple.launchd[1]
    (com.apple.SystemStarter) Failed to count the number of files in "/System/Library/StartupItems": No such file or directory
    My computer has been really slow to respond and this message was displayed repeatedly on the log at about the time the problem started.

    This seems to suggest that it could be filenames… (see the final posts).

    Replace dashes, underscores, hyphens & any other funky looking characters. Very long filenames of folder paths may cause trouble too.

  • What does the number returned from VISA Read STB represent?

    The value seems to correspond to ibsta, but I thought Read STB returned the status of the instrument, not the bus. If the former is the case, how can the instrument have a status value of 64 (REN/40 + CIC/20 + LACS/4) since it is a counter and is not capable of being the CIC. Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Read STB issues a *STB? command which retrieves the contents of the instrument's status byte register. Decimal 64 corresponds to bit 6 (RQS/MSS set). The device is sending SRQ. It is not the same thing as ibsta at all. Your instrument manual should have a section on it's status byte register.
    And if it was ibsta, decimal 64 is still bit 6 only (2**6 = 64) and not bits 2, 5, and 6. REM, CIC, and LACS all being set would be decimal 100 (REM=64, CIC =32, LACS=4).

  • What does the copy icon do in iPhone 4S photo app?

    Hi
    Anyone know what the copy icon does in iPhone 4S photo app?
    Go to your camera roll or any other album and click the editing icon on the top right of screen.
    You're then asked to select photos from that album.
    After tapping one or more photos, you're presented with options to SHARE, COPY, ADD or REMOVE
    All make sense except the COPY option.
    What does it do?
    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for the reply but you email the photo simple by clicking SHARE
    I did myself wonder if it was a COPY/PASTE function but I can't see anywhere in the iPhone where it offers you the option to PASTE what you've just COPIED from the photo app

  • Can I and How do I copy from one iWeb site to another.

    I currently have a few different versions of my web site stored as different doman.sites I would like to copy a blog entry from one into another. Is it possible to do that and if so how. I am sure I could copy all the text and all the pictures separtly and then paste them in, but that would be tendious as I would either have to keep opening and closing iWeb between the different versions or have them both open on separte accounts on my computer and keep jumping back and forth between them. Any suggestions? Let me know.

    what exactly would I copy from one folder to another to be sure that the blog entry that I am copying shows up in the blog menu? I would like to be able to copy everything together, dates, links at the bottom, hit counter and all, rather than piece by piece off of the site or from another iWeb account. Thanks!

  • How do I set up my e-mail so that it doesn't delete it from Outlook?

    When I read and delete my e-mail on my iPad, it also deletes it from my Outlook account.  How do I set it so tha it does not delete it from Outlook?

    Most people like it when mail syncs across all devices, but it appears you want to set up your mail account on your iPad as a POP account.  I found this link, which may help you:

  • Copy from a closed A/R invoice to a A/R Credit Memo.

    Hello Forum,
    I have a closed A/R invoice that is paid up.
    Now, if the customer returns that  item, I would create an A/R Credit Memo and pull up from the above A/R Invoice. However, SAP B1 8.8 does not allow copy from a closed A/R invoice. In that copyfrom list only the open A/R invoice show up.
    Is this how it has always been, or am I missing something here.
    Basically my need is to be able to create a A/r Credit Memo from a closed A/R invoice. Without this, we have to enter items one by one, rather than be able to copy them all and remove the ones we don't want returned. Right?
    Thank you.

    Hi Syed,
    It had been always like that, from version 2004 until latest version. Never used version prior to 2004, but I believe it should be the same case. The reason is quite simple, closed Invoice couldn't be credited again with a credit memo document. However I understand that your intention here only to copy all item (as a template only), but that's not how SAP B1 worked.

  • Registering class - what does it mean?

    In one book dealing with JDBC there's statement like: "Whenever a driver is loaded into memory
    Class.forName("org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver")
    it is registered as an available driver with the
    java.sql.DriverManager
    class".
    I have to say that I'm not newbie in database/JDBC programming and that I already created dozens of programs and web applications working with databases using DriverManager/DataSource approaches but now I'd like to understand what's really going on in the background with driver class.
    When you say "driver is registered" what does it really mean; what is registered and where?, how it is registered?, is it registered somewhere as ActiveX/COM component in Windows registry?

    hi sbrbot,
    There has been lot of confusion in people who try to get deep into what the books are telling. let me tell you what i could understand from analysing the informations and specifications ....
    when u call Class.forName with the driver class as the argument.., u instantiate a class of the driver.. like org.gjit.mm.mysql.Driver.. This class will contain some mechanism.., usually a static method that will call the java.sql.DriverManager.registerDriver(DriverClass) method.. this method needs the driver class as argument.. u can see it in the java sdk source code..
    The DriverManager now gets a handle to the driver class instance and whatit does can be seen from the foll. code ..in the java.sql.DriverManager class...
        public static synchronized void registerDriver(java.sql.Driver driver)
         throws SQLException {
         if (!initialized) {
             initialize();
         DriverInfo di = new DriverInfo();
         di.driver = driver;
         di.driverClass = driver.getClass();
         di.driverClassName = di.driverClass.getName();
         drivers.addElement(di);
         println("registerDriver: " + di);
        }for your information.. if u are again doubtful abt something.. see the foll. code part tooo again from java.sql.DriverManager
    // DriverInfo is a package-private support class.
    class DriverInfo {
        Driver         driver;
        Class          driverClass;
        String         driverClassName;
        public String toString() {
         return ("driver[className=" + driverClassName + "," + driver + "]");
        }So i hope u now know how the DriverManager class stores the information about the drivers that are available.. :-D
    Hope that was of some help.. do correct me if my concepts are wrong.
    cheers,
    -Jer
