What does a DPS consultant (reseller) make?

My company is about to begin selling the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite. They are forming the position (as it has not existed within the company yet). They want me to be the DPS consultant.
The job definition is that once our sales reps sell a DPS enterprise edition, I would assist the institution in setting up the iOS/Android app, setup the admins/users, integrate DPS into existing workflows, create the commercial developer accounts, configure in-app purchasing, etc. (I wouldn't do actual sales)
The minimum consulting length is 3 days, the maximum would be 3 months. I've heard that the average cost for a 3 day consulting job is $4,000. However, I'm not sure what the annual salary of a DPS consultant should be...
What should be charged for a 1 month consulting job? Two months? Three months? How does that work?
What should the annual salary be, and should the consultant get commissions? What % of consulting sales commissions should they get?
Is there a lot of travel required for a consultant? Or can they do all this work remotely, via Adobe Connect, workstation share, admin access to the system, etc....
I've considered reaching out to existing consulting companies, but I'm not sure they would just give this information to someone who will be a compeditor in the future...

There’s too much dependent on the geographic area and level of expertise. If you were in NYC you’d be making a lot more money than you would be in rural Georgia for instance.

I have iCaht AV 2.1 and a Powerbook g4 etc etc and I am trying to set up a chat with my Dad in Australia on an IBM thinkpad running Windows XP and AIM Trillion or whatever it is.
What does it take to ACTUALLY have a 2-way Video chat coz NOTHING we are doing is working.... I have read REAMS of stuff on this forum - Ralph has established my computer can actually recieve and send both video and audio... but it just will NOT work. What is the BEST modem and broadband provider here in the UK and in Australia???

If nothing works - I want my money back from buying a completely USELESS iSight to do this..... It would be easier to book satellite time and use a flyaway kit complete with crews either end than to try to use this to have 2-ways......

Both of you should test with others. You can find some robot ("Autoresponder") and human Buddy Names for iChat Test here if you need them. Testing will help you find whose system needs the most attention.
Since you have now apparently connected with Ralph, it seems your computer can connect. Has your Dad tried others? Perhaps the problem is at Dad's end. If so, the list of things for the PC to check in my link above should be helpful.
Check your Broadband Speed. Some Australian broadband can be on the slow side. Therefore, if your Dad already subscribes to the maximum bandwidth that is available from his Australian ISP, he should be particularly careful that his AIM "Video Quality" is not set too high (as explained in the "Mac Video Chat with PCs" link.) -

I think I found the problem. even though it only list >>>>iPhone<<<<, it still found my "laptop" when I clicked on it.

What's wrong with my device? It does not allow me to make calls with Skype or Viber... Can someone help?
My device is a Blackberry Z30. Skype and Viber just to work fine. I had to travel abroad and turn off data services while traveling outside of the US but the applications worked just fine with Wi-Fi. Suddenly they stopped working to make calls. I can still send text messages, but when I try to do a voice or video call (in the case of skype), it only says "failed call" and when I try to call using Viber I get an error message that says the I can not use the application until I complete my GMS call which is ridiculous because I'm not using the phone other than trying to place my call through Viber. The interesting thing is that when I go the permission page in my security settings everything indicates that its on but is gray out and I do not have access to change any setting. The same in both applications. The rest of the applications are accessible to change settings. I already uninstalled skype and reinstalled it and still the same problem. I'm ready to back up everything and wipe out the device to original settings.

Try a soft-reset and see if it works after your phone has restarted (it seems ot have fixed the error for a number of people on here) : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

Backup Failed. Comment is "Make sure your computer and backup disc are on the sme network and the backup disc is turned on". What does this mean?
Just back from the dentist.
Did a hard reset and when i asked time capsule to do a backup it tells

"Time Machine could not complete the backup. The backup disk image is already in use"
I think I misunderstand how this back up device works.
Is it to be plugged into the back of the router with an ethernet cable?

on my iPad, my outgoing mail regularly replies that the email was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying. What does that mean and how can I make the emails go out?
Try this.
Check your username and password in the outgoing mail server setting. Fill it in even of it says that it's optional.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>choose the email account>account name, tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and try entering your email username and password and see if that works for you. -

I have scanned most of my pictures into the Photo gallery set up. I was trying to make a slide show for my family . My side and than my husbands side. I had one set of old pictures completed as a slide show. The second set is almost complete. I have lost most of the first slide show pictures. The second set I cannot finish adding the remainder of the pictures . A box appears and says "error number 9". I don't know what happened. What does this mean? How did the pictures get lost from the slide show?

What does a camera add to a Raw file to make a finished Jpeg version?
I've used Lightroom 4 for a while now but have only ever used Jpegs, and mostly using just the basics panel and curves. I want to try developing Raw files now too.
I was wondering, compared to a Raw file what extra steps does the camera add to make a Jpeg file of the same image, essential steps that you would consider doing yourself to a Raw file in Lightroom too?
I'm aware of Noise reduction, but am a little unsure about the rest.

Answer:
* white balance is critical, so it should always be considered on every photo, even if no adjustment required.
* make sure you set camera profile according to taste (and after you gain experience, you may want to roll your own).
* set lens corrections by default: CA + profile (I use a percentage of 100 for vignette correction by default, depending on lens).
* fixed default for Lr color noise reduction (Lr default is usually fine). (color noise reduction is auto-adaptive, so you really don't need to set based on ISO, although you may need to up it on some photos to get all color noise, or down it on some photos to eek out max detail.
* luminance noise reduction and sharpening should be set (initially) based on ISO range.
Then adjust the basics. If toning can't be perfected with basics, supplement with tone curve, if still some imperfect areas, touch up with locals. Use HSL if need be, and so on and so forth.
Fair enough?
PS - I consider a default of 30 for luminance noise reduction to be *extremely* high. I start at zero for low ISO shots, and ramp it up to 25 for highest ISO shots. But consider that Lr's sharpening detail slider should only be used at lower ISOs (that's just my opinion/taste - ymmv). I set detail at 20 for lowest ISO shots, and ramp it down to zero for high ISO shots (as a default - I sometimes up it or down it afterwards). If sharpening detail is kept low, you won't need so much Lum. NR.
Notes:
* color noise reduction detail matters very little except at highest ISOs, in which case you can up it to eek out more detail, usually at the expense of more noise (so it needs to be balanced with amount).
* likewise luminance NR contrast has only a very subtle effect at highest ISOs, and can pretty-much be ignored unless you are really wringing out the detail.
* luminance noise reduction detail however can be important for not losing hard-won detail in the interest of noise control - consider uping it if you need to preserve detail in birds feathers or stone... - crank it down if you just want it clean - detail not important..
What else you need to know?

Lens corrections are a necessity in most cases, and you need to figure out how you like NR & Sharpening set by default. Camera profile determines the general look and feel of the photo and as such can be considered setting #1 (white balance is also setting #1 - yep: there are two #1s ;-}).
Many photos can then be adjusted satisfactorily just using the basic sliders. What's needed after that, really depends on the photo, and you...
Final thoughts are about sharpen masking. I used it a lot in the beginning, then noticed yucky artifacts / sparkling stuff scattered about..., and stopped using it entirely for years. It's undesirable side-effects are most noticeable when sharpening detail is up (and/or sharpening amount). Moral of the story, if you keep sharpening detail (and/or sharpening amount) down, you can also use sharpen masking to keep from sharpening noise in "sky" and "skin", as another way to keep from needing so much lum. NR. Anyway, I'm using it again now, albeit very judiciously. Tip: press Alt key when adjusting sharpen mask slider.
Put another way: sharpen masking masks (disables) sharpening in some places, but not others. Whether the transitions between masked regions and adjacent unmasked regions looks like hell or not depends on how much noise is being sharpened in the unmasked regions, since it's not being sharpened at all in the masked regions. Unfortunately, the situation can not be improved by increasing global noise reduction, since that makes the masked regions smoother too (as well as the unmasked regions).
Bottom-line (imo): If low-noise is the priority over sharpening, then keep sharpening amount and detail low and use masking. If sharpening is a priority over over noise, then leave masking off and crank up sharpening til heart's content. If both sharpening and noise are priorities, there is no choice but to sharpen and/or noise reduce via locals, since using sharpen masking in conjunction with high sharpening (detail and/or amount) on a noisy (or even semi-noisy) photo, looks like cr@p (yes: that's just my opinion), regardless of global lum. NR setting.
PS - Some people use sharpen masking with sharpening detail (and/or sharpening amount) up too and don't know what the heck I'm talking about - YMMV...
Although I use zero sharpen masking by default, some people use light sharpen masking in default settings, and some people use heavy sharpen masking as default. Worth considering how much of it you tend to like...

Settings you usually don't have to mess with, as a beginner: and why.
* Camera calibration color sliders: white balance suffices.
* Effects: most are "advanced" / optional (although you may want to explore post-crop vignette amount as your first foray).
* Lens corrections: you need chromatic aberration at a minimum, and some profile-based correction by default is usually good, but the rest are "advanced".
* Detail (covered above).
* Split toning: "advanced".
* HSL: "intermediate".
* Tone Curve: consider using the parametric curve sliders, if you are beginner; point curve & channel curves are advanced; moving the parametric range-changing doo-hickeys: let's call that "advanced" too.
* Locals and such can be considered not for begginers, but they will need to be used too at some point for optimal results. I mean, even beginners need to get the red-eye out sometimes, or kill dust spots... And you can get by without gradients or paint for a while, but not for long...

What does completer wants to make changes mean
every time i start up my macbook pro a box pops up on the home screen that says "Completer wants to make changes. Type in your password to continue." what does this mean?? it gives me the option to "cancel"which I've been doing but I also typed in my password the first time it happened. You may have installed the "Genieo" or "InstallMac" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. Some of the items listed in the article may be absent.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove this file in the same way:
~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.ltvbit.plist
If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those.
After removing the malware, remember to reset your home page in all the web browsers affected, if it was changed.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
