What does adobe software install???

After been reading for a while about the requirements to install CS4 design premium like disable anti virus, antispyware, firewall, etc, and also the complains in this forum about the result of installing different adobe products, I just get the idea that in fact adobe software install something strange for the OS. After uninstall the product and use the cleaner scripts I got some strange behavior with tools like windows defender, which does not start anymore even though it's in the registry.
I don't agree to use piracy because of virus, trojan and other harmful software, but I wonder which is the benefit of buy original software if in order to install it I should quit to know which kind of software is been installed or even worse don't get help from support department????

Disabling those things is generally accepted as best practice when installing any software in Windows.

from what i understand it removes any trace of registration, is that correct?
meaning that it doesn't uninstall the program, only things like the activation of it, right?
if so then i like to ask how i do this for indesign cc.

Quit Creative Cloud desktop application.
End all Adobe related process from Task Manager like Creative Cloud, CoreSync, Armsvc, AAMUpdater...etc
1) Press Windows button (located between Ctrl and Alt buttons) along with R button together at a time , you will get a run command window.
Type in below command and hit 'Enter' key.

Then navigate to Local>Adobe>OOBE. Open OOBE folder and delete opm.db file.
2)After deleting opm.db file , follow below steps.
A) Disable Anti-Virus and Firewall temporarily .
B)
1)Open Control Panel and then click on the option "Network and Internet" .
2)Click on Internet options, click on 'Connections' tab.
3)In the 'Connections' tab, select 'LAN' settings, you will be able to view the Local area network settings box.
4)Check the box-"Automatically Detect Settings" and then "uncheck" all the other check boxes like 'Use automatic configuration script', 'Use a proxy server' , Bypass proxy server' ,then click on ok button .
5)Click on "LAN settings" button again , make sure "Automatically Detect Settings" is the only option selected, keep the LAN properties window open.
Then launch Creative Cloud desktop application and Sign in and try to load Apps list .

The problem is that spammers and the like Keep Moving from an e-mail address to the next and are impossible to track down. If you were in Adobe's shoes would you do business with somebody incapable of scaring up a commercial/legitimate e-mail account?

What does "waiting to install" mean?

I clicked on the Ai app in Adobe Application Manager and it said installing, went to 100%, then said extracting and now it's been on waiting to install for several hours and I don't know if this is the last step and I should just wait it out, or if something went wrong and I should just try again.

Where does Adobe CS3 install by default?

I'm trying to install Adobe CS3 Design Premium on my MacBook Pro.
I was wondering once installed in the default installation location "/Applications" does it install each individual application in the Applications folder, or does it create another folder automatically that installs every application in there?
I'm asking, because if it automatically installs everything in the applications folder, i could create a new folder "Adobe CS3 Design Premium" and have everything install in there.

In any case, if it does, I explained that the installer would allow the creation of that folder. Also, my "yes" was in reference to the OP's suggestion of directories for standard install, and making a new folder. Redundancy is not necessary here. Nothing was made clearer. read my statement below. It applies to almost every post in here. A tenet not followed by many.

I've had a laptop stolen with my Adobe software installed. How can I reinstall the software?

I still have the product keys for both Photoshop Elements and Adobe Acrobat Pro X. Can I and how do I install the software onto my new laptop without having uninstalled it from the stolen machine? I also have a subscription to Indesign, and don't have a product key, so any ideas on how I do this?

As far as installing it on the new machine goes, you are allowed to install on two machines, so there should not be an issue with installing unless you already had it installed on two machines. If you need to download the software to install it then you might findlinks to do so via your Adobe account online. Does it removes the old version and install new version again or it modifies previous version and adds something to it?

No iPhoto will just update the existing application, no unnecessary space on your HDD.

Does antivirus software installed on windows protect my os?

i'm running both snow leopard and win 7 on my mac pro through parallel. i installed ms security essentials on my windows 7, and wonder if it also offers protection for my mac os. my common sense is telling me NO, but i really don't know how parallel works, so just wanna make sure. I also have Sophos installed for my OS, but recently a file named sophosavagent is eating up almost 100% CPU usage when i scan my OS. Does anyone have similar issues?

It's been suggested to me that I should try Adobe Illustrator as a solution to my drawing problem. I literally can't draw a straight line without a ruler, but I want to self-publish on Amazon, which means I need a cover, and I can't possibly afford to hire an artist. Adobe Illustrator can make art thru "freehand drawing" and also in a way best described as "plotting a grid". You can make artwork with Illustrator without traditional drawing skills, but they help tremendously.
IF you can't find what you want on Fotolia or any of the dozens of places for stock art on the net, sign up for a Lynda.com membership and start with the "Introducing Illustrator" video by Deke McClelland (Watch the Online Video Course Introducing Illustrator). You won't be making art right away - you'll need to learn some specific skills and practice a lot. If you're in a rush find an artist or pick some stock art.

New Slimline Apple Keyboard - what does the software do?

I loaded the 1.2 update (about 35 mb) "New Slim Keyboard" software, but I don't really see any difference (after rebooting etc.) in the Mouse & Keyboard preferences vs. before I loaded the software -- And the function keys F17, F18 and F19 are new-- how to use them etc. etc.--
Is the software actually adding some features or just enabling TIGER to recognize it?
And I'm using LEOPARD on another computer to get the bugs out before moving LEOPARD to my MAIN MAC (MacBook)-- and it seems to recognize the slim keyboard just fine without that update (unless it is included in 10.5.1??)
Any comments appreciated.
